Pros +
- The breakfast was good, many selections. The family room was spacious, has two separate rooms with two double beds, and an additional sofa bed, each room also has a balcony, which is a bonus. The pools were good, one big pool for adults, and a small one for kids with slide. Sun comes early around 9 in the morning during Xmas.
- Okay so I’m here to give an honest review of this hotel which I stayed at from 15-23rd April 2025. The hotel was very busy for the bank holiday weekend . First impressions were not great, when I checked in I felt I was not given enough information on where things were located . The biggest issue was that unfortunately even upon check in it was not communicated to myself that the main pool was being closed for maintenance during my stay . Some guests had been informed this before they travelled and had the option of changing hotels however many guests were not informed and neither was the tour operators . This was a huge disappointment and the staff did not seem to think this was an issue . However, it’s a huge issue and customers should always be informed on any maintenance work planned . The staff all gave different answers on this , one stating this had been arranged the month before , with another staff member stating only the day before so there was not honesty and transparency as you would hope and deserve. There were many guests very unhappy with this lack of communication and rightly so.The hotel itself is well maintained, clean with a hair salon, shop and pharmacy. There are large areas to eat at with different choices of food. There were a couple of staff that were friendly but on the whole, I found most staff to be a little rude and abrupt particularly in the main pool bar. The hotel overall is a nice hotel but what lets it down is its customer service . British tourists contribute greatly to the economy and I felt we were not appreciated or respected sadly. The hotel is much more focused on making money than customer satisfaction and this is its downfall . For the future, Gloria Palace San Agustín needs to remember people spend a lot of hard earned money to stay there particularly the British and I feel this is taken for granted sadly . I wish the hotel the best for the future and I hope the hotel takes on board my honest review.
- All honest was near spot on.Room was well sized and we had a brilliant view over pool and over sea as on 7th floor. Free water in rooms every day is nice touch and cleaned daily. Reading reviews on some saying food wasn’t good then I think were wrong, We do all inclusive all time and this was one best ones for sure especially really enjoyed breakfast, was a different themed dinner each night and for sure keeping snacks etc in the designated area is so much better as stops all the bins being full off rubbish and then that attracts smells and flies so a big plus on that. Drinks was good and nice to actually have a good beer on tap and fresh bottles of coke and Fanta etc is much better than out machines. Pools and all hotel area was great and couldn’t fault anything if I’m honest and would recommended and stay again.
Cons -
- The taste and quality of the breakfast and dinner could be improved. What surprised me the most was that the safe in the room is not free for use, you have to pay a deposit and daily fee to use it, I have never experienced any other 4-stars or 5-stars hotel do the same. There is only one for all (washing hand, hair and body) shower toiletries provided, the hair and skin was pretty dry after using it.
- No sun loungers , repetitive food , rude staff , located in a very quiet area , poor communication between staff , mixed responses from staff regarding the pool closure- us British do know when we are being fibbed to
- Nothing whatsoever

Magnificent hotel with incredible facilities, such as free motion bike hire on site. Great apartment, food and friendly staff
Nothing whatsoever
The breakfast / lunch / dinner was lovely and great selection .They staff were so friendly and helpful.Great to see mixture of ages from young to old and a lot of children which we love to see
The only thing was food could be hotter ok if you get it as you see it being cooked. They're was only one microwave and really hidden in the corner should be up at the hot food counter.
cool location, clean room, friendly staff
Quiet location, pools are great, Thalasso is ok , clean and comfy
Parking can be a hassle at certain times
Exceptional
No English Channel on tv would be nice to have a smart tv for Netflix, internet not working sometimes
Cleanliness, great range of facilities, quieter location than some alternatives, helpful staff and excellent breakfast offerings.
All good!
This is a place where you will want for nothing. First of all, I need to mention the level of cleanliness, which was top notch (and I'm very picky when it comes to that), both in my room with the daily cleaning and in the facilities (pool, gym, common areas, etc). Secondly, there is literally anything you may wish for, pools, spa, gym, game room, bar, entertainment... you are all set here. They even have an ATM and a cigarette vending machine, a little shop, and a rental car company has a stand in the hotel. The location is a 12 min walk from the promenade that takes you to playa del Ingles and then (if you really like walking ?) to maspalomas. Within walking distance, there are plenty of great restaurants as well. But you'll probably have a car (I spent 87euro for 8 days renting) so you're perfectly located to travel around the whole south of the island (or north as well you're up for a longer drive). I also saw bus stops nearby, so that's also a possibility, I guess. Many of the guests were elders (I went in March, so maybe it's because of that), and I had the feeling they were having a great time! So if you're older I would recommend this place even more. I only had breakfast included, so I can't speak about the lunch or dinner options. Breakfast has countless options, to the point where it's almost too much. What I particularly appreciated was the fresh bread every morning.
In my case, I would've preferred fewer options for breakfast but higher quality ones. I know that that may not be a common sentiment, so it's only my opinion. The mattress was ok (probably need new ones in the next couple of years because I could feel they were starting to dent), but they use the old school hotel linen that keep slipping out of place - a little annoying. The gym, which is otherwise really great for the standard hotel gym, has a few machines that are really old. Finally, they have entertainment probably every night, but I didn't see anywhere a program so that guests don't know when and what it's going to be. That's the only real thing that they should absolutely improve on and promote!
The hotel was nice, cleaning lady was amazing. Breakfast had a lot of options and fresh food. The pools are nice size and there are enough if sun beds. Overall nice hotel.
We booked a room with a sea view and ended up with a room on the 1st floor with a pool view so we felt that we did not get what we paid for. Initially they gave us a family room overlooking a palm tree on one side and game room on the other. Then they put us in a junior suite with a glass bathroom between the sofa (where out kid was supposed to sleep) and queen bed (2nd floor, no sea view). Then finally we received a normal room with no sea view. The reception staff was not trained well, many do not speak Spanish or good English. Kids are not allowed on the rooftop pool and thalasso so that was a bit disappointing.
Clean and comfortable room, kind staff, good variety for breakfast and dinner
I booked a sea view room and i took a room on the first floor on a building of 9 floors. I booked breakfast and dinner included, but they charge the drinks, even water. First time in my life i see a hotel charging for the safe too! Its like a low cost airline, value for money but they have other ways to take your money. Spa pool was also payable to use. Towels and bed sheets had holes.
Room was good, breakfast was good and pool was good and nice temperature.
Children’s entertainment in bar during evenings, they should be allocated a separate area. Unable to sit in bar and enjoy quiet drink. Despite notices very many sun beds were reserved prior to breakfast and unoccupied for hours. Ladies walking around pool area topless, maybe ok sunbathing but not walking around resort especially in children’s area.
Breakfast was very good inndeed. I am slightly handicapped all staff were. Only too willing to help me
Would have liked to get something substantial to eat at pool bar .
Hotel with good pools, bars, food.
Was not so clean as expect to be for 4* hotel.
Swimming Pool: The pool was a good size, well-maintained, and the water temperature was just perfect.Pool Staff: The staff member managing the pool area (the one with the beard and tattoos) was exceptional—he truly cared about his work and kept the space spotless.Room Comfort: The beds were comfortable, and the balcony in our family room was surprisingly spacious.Gym: The gym was well-equipped, and it was never too crowded in the mornings. (However, the gym balls could use some inflating.)Reception Staff: The reception team was professional and efficient, especially when handling an issue with noisy neighbors.Cats: The hotel’s resident cats were a delightful presence—we loved having them around.Sushi Night: One evening, there was sushi at dinner. While it wasn’t extraordinary, it was a welcome change from the usual offerings.
Cleanliness: The room was noticeably dirty—the floors, curtains, walls, and even the chair all needed a thorough deep clean. While we understand that daily housekeeping has its limitations, a deep cleaning should be done regularly. Unfortunately, the room felt neglected, which significantly impacted our stay.Food Quality: The food was underwhelming and certainly not up to 4-star hotel standards. While there was a decent variety, vegetarians and vegans might struggle with limited options beyond side dishes and salads. Additionally, some food combinations were odd, and the overall quality was disappointingly low. We have experienced much better meals at hotels in this price range, as well as at home.Value for Money: Given the high cost of our stay, we couldn’t shake the feeling that we had overpaid. Had the rates been half as much, we might have considered the experience acceptable. However, for the price we paid, the overall quality did not meet our expectations.
Great customer service, by the amazing staff!
Unfortunately food was terrible! No vegetarian options.
The location was perfect and there were interesting pools and spa.
The internet in the room was weak.
staff super helpful and nice, view and sun terraces beautiful, nice rooms, good breakfast
lunch/dinner not good - food was often cold and dry, not enough parking spaces, very loud at night, you could hear the music very loud from the bar
Pros - ( stayed 5 nights endof May 2023)The rooms were nice, We hired a car from the airport which cost us around 65 Euros for 5 days. The hotel has free parking facility. The break fast was good offering a variety. We stayed there for 5 nights, The break fast was the same all the days - Selection of Salads, Breads, Eggs, croissants, Donuts, Nothing to complain about the breakfast. The beach is a ten minute walk or a 5 minute drive if you have a car, Again 5 minutes by car or 10 min walk you have the San Agustin shopping centre where you can buy your groceries. The SPAR supermarket is of good size. We ate at the Tandoori palace in the shopping centre. The food was good. There is also a new italian restauarnt opened ( 2 weeks back). Starts with letter M - you wont find it on google yet. Good quality food We used our car hire to visit a few beachs including the Amadores beach , Palmitos park etc. The People from a company called Blue offer dolphin watcing tours. TIP - We bought tickets for 8 members. The bus pick up was 9.20 am. The bus came only at 9.40 and went to pick up people from several hotels before reacing the peurto rico Boating place at 11am. The STAFF at the hotel were VERY friendly. The room cleaning service was top notch. Our towels were changed everyday. We did not avail any massage services.
The lunch and the dinner were AVERAGE ,Being vegetarians there were VERY VERY few options. Also we felt the lunch and dinner buffet were cooked aand catered to the masses . The food quality was VERY average. We were on ALL inclusive . Being a big hotel, they cook for a lot of people. I would NEVER go all inclusive again. So i would advise people to try it before going half board or all inclusive. And the Desserts were the same EVERY Day, VEry average cheap desserts, And they had icecreams from those massive big tubs. But the icecreams were good ( super market tub quality)FOOD quality really needs to improve. They really need to hire better chefs. Food lacks order messy labels did not match the name with the food. The BUFFET is not suited for Vegans or vegetarians. Plenty of Salad and fruit options, But I dont go on a holiday to eat Salad and fruits every day :) Its fine for a day or 2. @Jonathan Lange ( PR) - if you reading this, please make an effort to imporve the food as opposed to just replying to the review The one downside for me were the 2 swimming pools with no SHALLOW end.. There were NO baby or shallow pools. The pools were 1.4-1.6 metrs deep. So you need to know swimming or manage kids with arm bands and floats in the deep end. After you enter the pools, they suddemly go deep. I had a 3 year old who couldnt enjoy any of the pool facilities. When we went on a bus ride, we saw so many other hotels which had 2-3 pools out of which one was a baby pool . So parents with kids,- kindly see if you are comfortable. Also the POOLS were not heated even though the reception mentioned they are heated. Luckily we went when the outside temperature was 24 degrees. so the pool might have been around 20-22 degrees which was bearable cold - again would no suit everyone
