    Pros +

    • The beach was very nice, during October it was also easy to find a spot. Staff were very friendly, hard working and kind. Good food variety.
    • The grounds were well maintained, the all inclusive food was very good and plentiful, our room had a great view of the ocean
    • My stay at the Agapi Hotel was fantastic. We stayed in the main building with a stunning view of the sunrises. Our premium room was recently renovated and felt fresh. Room had a very comfortable bed and pillows. The beach was just a couple of minutes walk away. The food at the hotel's Greek tavern was excellent. The lobster dinner (for an extra charge) was definitely worth it!My biggest regret is that we only went to the spa the day before we left. The service at Agea Spa was incredible, and the massages were priced fairly. The hotel's airport transfer service, which we booked at the reception, was also very convenient and comfortable.

    Cons -

    • Pools need to be distinguished per age groups, because kids noise might get a little too disturbing. Housekeeping is not great. We have made an order for breakfast with room service for a sunday, however we were brought the breakfast on saturday.
    • The only downside was that some guests played with balls in the pool, which made it difficult to swim and was a bit disruptive.
    • Ants in the room. Bed was twin instead of the chosen queen. Towels were not changed daily. Beach towels changing times too short. Very hard to find spot in the pool or beach. Food in main restaurant is just ok for our taste.

The two restaurants - Italian and seaside taverna, were excellent. Staff was very friendly. Very calm atmosphere. Included cocktails (and all alcohol bar items) were great and diversed. The spa is cool and the atmosphere is very relaxed, the workers inside are very professional.

Loved the room, which had a wonderful balcony and sitting area with a beautiful view of the ocean.

I really had no complaints, everyone was kind and the food and drinks plentiful and tasty.

The facilities were very good, with one main pool and two smaller pools. The hotel has its own substantial, sandy beach. The food is very good with a good selection of restaurants/snack bars at lunch time and to a slightly lesser extent in the evening. The staff are all friendly and helpful, reflecting the fact that it is a family run hotel.

The room was pleasant enough but could do with updating. The WiFi was inconsistent in our room, in contrast with the good reception on the rest of the hotel premises, including the beach. The number of English speaking channels on the TV was poor, although it did slightly improve half way through our 8 day holiday. Like the wifi, I think this was particular to our room/block.

Nice spot, decent food, good staff and stunning sea view

The rooms are out dated and need renovation.

Great beach. Great location near to Heraklion. The park is very pretty and kept well. The staff isvexceptionally friendly. The food is also very good.

At dinner at the main restaurant there are queues which form. It’s not a problem but it could probably be avoided or improved by reorganizing the food isles a bit.

    10NikolaPosted on: 10-13-2024

Clean well organized and so close to the beach. I sent my wife and little son and they were very responsive and understanding to our specific situation.

    4JonathanPosted on: 10-13-2024

    The staff were very friendly.

Air conditioner in room was moldy and could not be run without the room smelling like urine. The maintenance staff cleaned the filter and sprayed down the coils, but the problem persisted. The overall feel of the hotel did not match the reviews and social media profiles.

The property was nice, and there was good value for the money. We were initially given a different room from what we paid for, but it was all resolved by the next day. The staff were really apologetic about the mistake and tried to make up for it.All in all, a little bleep in the vacation, but love how it was resolved, and we did ultimately really enjoy our stay here.

Food was a little repetitive, but then I'm comparing to the carribean all inclusives. All in all, not bad.

The staff were absolutely in particular Stavrous (bar man) ! His kindness and good humour made the holiday for us, but all staff were truly amazing! The facilities are amazing and the activities available were second to none! We really really enjoyed this part of our trip!

A slightly older age group attending this resort, but that didn’t affect us when we were there for 3 nights only - and we even made some friends!

    5SukhiPosted on: 9-19-2024

The staff was absolutely amazing. Very friendly, always trying to help. The beach is beautiful and the garden area is kept neat. The laundry service was super quick. I also loved the cat sanctuary!

There were many little things that weren't working (TV in our room, squeaky doors, closet doors don't shut properly). There were no sockets near the bed (only had 2 sockets for the entire room) or any extra sockets in the bathroom. The food also looked better on the pictures. Overall our stay was underwhelming.

Great food. I had to start this that as it was so delicious and the variety of it was outstanding. There has been always a table with special Cretan food. Very helpful , nice and amazing staff . It’s very clean . Location is perfect, just by the bus and taxi station . It’s 15 min to the city centre of Heraklion by taxi ( 15 Euro flat fee) . There are buses as well ( 1.60 euro) to the city and to Knossos. This hotel has a nice clean beach , can spend there whole day . It’s a great place to stay as a solo travel, with family and with friends .

Rooms were a bit outdated .

Very professional and accommodating team at the check-in. We truly appreciated having our rooms ready upon the arrival (11am). Wonderful rooms, cleaned every day. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Beach is spacious, very clean, nice sand, plenty of sunbeds. Special note to the restaurant team & cooks - a great variety of food, with new dishes every day, well-run and very efficient. Hotel premises are spotless, very well-looked-after. Overall, a very pleasant stay and we would consider coming back again for sure!

Only a minor feedback on breakfast - while i have never seen such a wide selection of egg-dishes in any other hotel ( :) ), perhaps starting with pancakes a bit earlier than 8:30am would be nice. We were early risers but i would assume others like us would also appreciate that :)

We booked two rooms, an exclusive bungalow at the pool which was fantastic and then much cheaper one at the old building. The bungalows are great, direct access to the pool, quiet and well equipped. We would have appreciated a full minibar. The second room had a nice bathroom but it was really tiny, old beds and rather stinky. But the price was much lower, so I'm not complaining at all.We loved Agapi, the staff is awesome and so is the hotel's area. Pools could definitely be larger, they were very crowded in the afternoon. On the other hand, the beach is truly lovely. Enough sunbeds, clear sea, mild waves. We would love to thank everyone in the hotel, they always did their best to assist us!

    Coffee :-D

Very nice and clean everywhere, very friendly staff, the food was always fresh and very tasty, with lots of variety and including local cuisine, and lots of fruit, very good ice cream and bars. Pools and beach were all amazing. The mini disco was awesome! Please do another activity in the afternoon, kids love it.Luggage service was much appreciated.Overall we had a lovely time.

Not a lot to say, most everything was 9-10/10.

My wife and I recently spent a week at this great all-inclusive hotel in Crete, and it was a delightful experience. The private beachfront was pristine, with plenty of available beach beds, allowing us to relax by the sea without any hassle. The hotel grounds were impressive, featuring well-maintained gardens filled with a diverse array of plants that created picturesque settings. The main pool was spacious enough to never feel overcrowded, and the additional smaller pools offered more secluded spots for a quieter relaxation. We appreciated the convenience of having sparkling water, beer, and sodas readily available throughout the day, along with a generous selection of cocktails and spirits included in the all-inclusive package. Throughout our stay, the staff were consistently polite, warm, and eager to assist, which made us feel truly welcomed. The entertainment provided by the animators was engaging and enjoyable, without ever feeling too pushy. The food at the hotel was exceptional, and it was a highlight of our stay. Breakfast offered an extensive variety of options to suit every palate. For lunch, we had the choice of three different venues, each with its own theme, and one of which had extended hours for added convenience, all included in the all-inclusive package. Dinner was an absolute treat every night, with a vast selection of dishes and a different theme each evening. We were particularly impressed by the fact that traditional Cretan options were always available, and these also varied daily, allowing us to explore the local cuisine. The food quality was consistently high, and we never had the same meal twice during our seven-night stay. Additionally, the snack bar by the pool ensured that we always had something to nibble on throughout the day.

While our overall experience was fantastic, I would recommend considering an upgrade when booking your room. We stayed in middle-range room, which was comfortablec but didn’t quite meet all of our expectations, particularly in terms of the decor and amenities. I suspect that the lower-priced rooms might have similar shortcomings. Opting for a refurbished room would likely enhance the overall experience and make for an even more enjoyable stay.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The receptionist Daria was especially nice. We immediately felt like home. The food was great and plentiful. Overall, the stay was very relaxing. Thank you! :)

People always leaving their towels on the chairs by the pool, so we never managed to actually use the big pool.
