- Location
- Breakfast and all other meals were prepared and cooked to meet the highest demands of an experienced customer. Room was cleaned every day with care.

Cons -
- We did not receive the type of room that has been reserved, despite the written confirmation. The check in took almost an hour, the food is below the standards. The beds are very uncomfortable.
- The location could be better, because of a nearby sea-facing factory
- Beware of Payment Issues and Rude StaffI recently stayed at this hotel for 4 nights with breakfast included, booked through Booking.com. I paid €429 in advance, and the payment was confirmed by the platform. However, upon check-in, I encountered a frustrating and unpleasant situation. The two receptionists, one older and one younger, both of whom were extremely rude, presented me with a note stating that I owed €405 for the stay, plus an additional €40 as a climate tax. I was confused because I had already paid in full via Booking.com, including all taxes. Despite showing them my booking confirmation, they insisted that they had not received any payment and demanded I pay an additional €445. They even presented a card terminal and expected me to settle this amount immediately. When I refused, the older receptionist called what she claimed to be the manager, and I was told the issue would be sorted the next day. I contacted Booking.com as suggested. When I returned the following day, neither of the receptionists seemed to know what was going on, and the younger one rudely said, “Excuse me, what?” when I inquired about the payment. It was a very unprofessional and stressful situation.Though the stay proceeded normally after that and no further payment was demanded, the initial experience was enough to put me off. Furthermore, when we asked to upgrade to all-inclusive for just one day, the hotel refused, saying it was only possible for the entire stay – which was incredibly disappointing since we only wanted to enjoy a day at the beach with drinks due to the great weather. While the hotel itself was fine, I strongly caution anyone staying here to be prepared for confusing payment issues and rude staff. Watch out, especially for the two women at the front desk.

I liked the facilities, the staff is so friendly and every evening there is a new event organized! Thanks to his location, it is so peaceful and definitely perfect!
You should give more lactose and gluten free options, talking about dessert and paying more attention because when I ordered the breakfast pocket because we reached the airport at 3am, once I opened it I discovered there was no gluten and lactose products inside even if I underlined several times while ordering it.
Nothing much I can add to previous reviews so just a quick note re buses. To get to town or onwards to the airport you need to get bus number 1. To return from the airport or town you need bus number 6. Both stop just outside the hotel. You can by tickets in the hotel shop of for about a euro extra you can buy them on the bus.
Breakfast was good had great variety.
You could stop the reservation of the sun beds and beach umbrellas
the reception area, the bar area and the swimming pool remain a bit old
rooms, corridors and elevators too old for 5 stars
Food was excellent, great pool.
We had problems with one air conditioner not working and the hotel staff thought we should just put up with mechanics and cleaners coming and going from our room.
The hotel has a rich history and over time, they have cultivated a stunning garden with a variety of trees and palms, each with small information tables that enhance the experience. The food was amazing; we thoroughly enjoyed dining at both the main restaurant/buffet and the poolside cafeteria. The buffet offered a diverse selection of high-quality, tasty dishes, including Cretan specialties. The pool cafeteria served excellent fast food, including Greek options, which the kids loved. The hotel's beach was right next to the property, and we never had any trouble finding a spot there. We also enjoyed dining at the on-site Greek restaurant located by the sea, which offered fantastic food. Overall, it was a pleasure to use the bars and terraces and to watch events in the open-air amphitheatre.
There is a power plant with large chimneys very close to the hotel. While it's not visible from the hotel grounds, it's quite noticeable from the beach. This is an issue not just for this hotel, but for the entire region. It's disappointing that such a facility was built near these beautiful beaches. Occasionally, depending on the wind direction, you can smell the fumes from the plant, especially in the evening and at night when electricity demand peaks. Some hotel rooms have a direct view of the power plant chimneys, which can be quite a spoiler. We were initially given such a room and had to request a change. Fortunately, they accommodated our request the next day, but it did cause some discomfort. The new room had a wonderful garden view that we really enjoyed. The photos of the rooms on the website were misleading or incorrect, which led us to make a wrong decision about the room type. The sea water can be very cold, and I mean really cold! I regret that I did not believe previous comments about this issue. There is a small river with extremely cold water flowing into the sea. Because fresh water is lighter than salty sea water, it stays on top, making swimming unpleasant. This is less of an issue when the weather is windy, but on calm days or when the wind blows from the river, swimming can be quite uncomfortable unless you are not sensitive to cold water. Luckily, we had favorable wind conditions for most of our stay, so it didn't affect us too much.Additionally, there are rocks at the water's entry point, which can make it difficult or even impossible for older people or kids to enter the sea.
The kids enjoyed the slide when it was open. Breakfast was a good mix of food. Restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful!
We found it odd that the pool didn’t open until 10am and the kids slide was only open for a few hours in the day. This is a very large resort with limited sun lounges for the amount of people.
The entire hotel staff was willing to assist us with any matter. The personnel at the breakfast and snack bar area were exceptionally helpful, as were the lifeguards at the pool area. The hotel was spotlessly clean, and the room was comfortable, with all the promised amenities. Moreover, since we had our little one with us and there was availability, they upgraded our room to a two-room suite at the same price for extra comfort!
Our room was located next to the laundry area, so every morning we were awakened by the noise of the washing machines, and there was also a vibration in the room as a result. Additionally, the hotel's installation was next to the DEI power plant, and the sea was quite dirty. The children's workshop was closed with a padlock, and in the play area, the toys were broken, and the lawn was muddy, preventing the child from playing.
Very good breakfast, various meals and different drinks, including juices. SPA procedures were nice and usefull for my health.
the bathroom may be better
Amazing resort , great pools and facilities. Beach was great too. We had a lovely time here. The children's club was great and the staff were lovely at the club.
Sometimes the staff could be rude. We didn't get too much information at the desk at first and we had to ask a few times about things. Childrens club area needs more care and maybe renovation.
breakfast, room, facilities
morning rush for "booking" sunbeds
Breakfast selection was very good. The beds were comfortable and the room was a good size. The staff were very friendly.
The photo shown on booking.com for our room type was actually of a different room type. Our room was smaller and not as nice as the photo. This was disappointing as previously I have found the photos on booking.com to be accurate. There was some noise disturbance from the room above due to the chairs scraping on the floor - this was not the neighbours fault, it was hard to move the chairs without scraping. Also some neighbours liked to play their music loudly. But generally it was quiet after midnight.
In general, the hotel was nice and friendly
In general, the hotel was nice and friendly staff but the most terrible experience was with Spa center. I decided to book manicure service and it was the terrible service I ever received. I hated the whole process and the quality was super bad. I dont suggest to visit SPA or at least manicure. Very bad result which made me super sad as the price was higher than in any other salons.
Good place to Hargrt with family
I did not get the room that booking.com showed on my booking confirmation - I was completely dissatisfied with hotels response who blamed Booking.com - I want booking.com to contact me directly as I want an explanation and some sort of compensation- I am still travelling for next 6 weeks so WhatsApp is probably best way of having a discussion?
the staff was absolutely wonderful; the food choice was really great and it was delicious; comfort in rooms was really good and they were really big; cleanliness of the hotel area was pretty good and whole area was beautiful
high number of street dogs and cats in the area, especially in the greek restaurant on the beach.
We were half board and the buffet provided a huge choice of food for both breakfast and dinner. Very good. What wasn’t so good was the one night we booked the ‘Italian’ restaurant. Very, very disappointing and not worth paying for. We should have walked out when the waitress informed us there would be an extended wait for any meat or fish dishes because it was ‘all frozen’. Stupidly we stayed and ended up waiting about an hour for our steaks, which definitely weren’t worth the wait. They arrived a few minutes apart and with the wrong sauce for my wife’s. The potato croquettes looked and tasted like Captain Birdseye’s. So, all in all pretty awful food and service. A complete waste of money. We should have stuck with the buffet.
See above.
I liked everything! Perfect location Amazing seaHuge amount of really delicious meals Nice territory Pleasant and kind personal Clean rooms, where everything is workingHere everyone makes everything for your comfort and pleasure Definitely will visit Apollonia next time
