Pros +
- Hotel is nicely located outside the city center, quiet but still accessible with the public transport. Beach is not that far from the hotel, different pool area at your disposal with easy access to the bar. Room is very modern and got all the basics items you need for your stay.
- First of all the staff has been amazing along our stay. Always happy to help and willing to give us recommendations A special mention to Kallia that was really professional, helpful and smiling at us every single time, Efharisto! The location close to the Heraklion airport (but not too much to hear from the airplanes) was convenientThe all building was nice, not the kind of huge resort but more family friendly The food variety and offer was appreciated as well as the Chef that gladly helped us on a daily basis due to our allergiesThe private beach with its cabanas and the possibility to have drinks and snacks there
- Beautiful hotel. The rooms are immaculate. Very comfortable beds, great lighting, and a lovely balcony overlooking the pool. The shower was excellent. Tea and coffee making facilities also a bonus. The food was good, as were the drinks. The whole hotel, including the gardens and pool areas were very clean. We had a lovely stay.
Cons -
- I think I got a room upgrade with a private shared pool because there was an issue with the city tax fees on my reservation. Be aware that you can't flush toilet paper. In this case, I would have expected to have bidet instead. Coffee/tea cups and glasses are not properly cleaned (unless you informed them and they give you new ones).
- The lack of the fitness center, a small room with some equipments would be appreciated The distance of the beach can be for some people an inconvenience
- There could have been a bit more selection on the desserts and fruit, but nothing else was wrong!

Very clean and modern
The lack of evening entertainment, although we stayed the last week of the season so perhaps it was quiet because of this.
The hotel is very tidy and smart, with nice pool facilities, especially if you get a room with a semi-private pool. The location is good, out of the hustle and bustle, quite close to a beach and on the main bus route into Heraklion, which was super handy. The snack bar open during the day was good, and actually often had better food than at meals.
The food was very average. We were on an all-inclusive package and the food quality wasn't great, plus the beer and wine was also pretty dreadful. There also isn't much to do in the hotel other than use the pool or sit by it. Lastly the showers in the room are bizarre - just hand showers you have to hold up to try and wash yourself.
This resort is amazing!! We loved the all-inclusive food and drinks. The food was delicious and there was so much variety. Good selection of drinks too. They also had a snack bar open during the day which was included too. The staff were wonderful and the facilities outstanding - great pools. The staff even decorated our room as it was our honeymoon - so lovely and thoughtful.
Everything was perfect! But the location isn’t really near a town - you need a car (which we had, but something to be mindful of).
Pools were excellent. Rooms were cleaned every day. Restaurant was always fully stocked with loads of options. Beach was really nice and clean. Staff on reception, bars, cleaning and catering were all amazing. Bus stop straight outside to Heraklion & Airport (EUR 2.50 each way)..
Not many nearby facilities, shops, cafes, tavernas and those there were were closed for off-season.
The newer buildings and the better rooms are definitely beautiful
The room we stayed in was in the older building so felt a bit outdated, the food choices were limited, it was buffet style every day however there wasn’t much range also the pools were freezing
This property is very well kept - clean, really great and friendly staff, well organized. The pools are really nice and the beach club and bar just a short 5-10 min walk away. The AI food options are great with a lot of variety. Bus stop right outside the hotel that takes you easily into Heraklion.
Really just small details: A gym would be nice (you can use one in a hotel down the road, but the gym there isn't great either). The dining hall is pretty noisy and lacks some athmosphere. The AI drinks (beer, wine, cocktails) are pretty bad quality.
Everything! Especially the buffet and the bar access
The television didn’t have access to the Netflix or any other apps I could log into
I loved the food, the facilities (pools, tennis court, ping pong table, beach bar) and the location (proximity to the beach, town and airport)
The toilets in our rooms were very small and the room didn't have all body mirrors.
Clean, modern, nice pools and pool areas. Emma on the Nissos bar was very friendly and chatty. Food was plenty, lots of choice and always something to choose from Drinks selection on the all inclusive was great, soft drinks and a variety of cocktails
No gym which is a real shame
Perfect stay, clean and modern rooms, good food. Friendly and helpfull staff.
Got an up grade to a room with private pool. very nice.
Had a strange odour in the room
Great variety of food and drinkStaff were friendly and efficient Pools were large and cleanBeds were comfortable
Sign saying no toilet paper in toilet ?Aircon turned on and off at night
The Sentido Amounda Bay Hotel offers good value for the money, with excellent facilities. You can choose from three different pools, each with its own unique atmosphere. The rooms were comfortable, and room service was provided daily. The hotel also has a tennis court available for booking free of charge, with equipment available to borrow from reception. The view from the court was amazing during sunset. It wasn’t really used by guests during our stay, and the hotel doesn’t seem to promote it, but I see it as a great bonus—perfect for spending some fun time with your travel companions. The all-inclusive food was decent, though it lacked variety over time. The beach is a short walk from the hotel, offering free sunbeds and a private beach bar as part of the all-inclusive package, though the selection is smaller compared to the pool bar.The location is okay, though there isn’t much within walking distance. However, a bus stop right outside the hotel provides easy access to Heraklion, the airport, and other areas.
I strongly criticize the hotel's handling of sunbed reservations. Guests reserve sunbeds by placing towels on them early in the morning, even though they do not return for several hours. Despite multiple signs and a notice in the room manual stating that staff will remove unattended towels, the hotel and its staff appear indifferent and do not seem to care, which negatively impacts the overall guest experience and service.
The pool was clean and the room was very clean
The place is good but the food was bad, the towels cost money , there is a small elevator and there is not view from the balcony
Personnel was very helpful and kind. Especially the girls in reception. The bungalow with the private pool is just amazing. Plenty of food, snacks, and drinks during the day.
Cocktail list could be a little better, but still it's value for money.Check in should be a little earlier, because if you stay for a single day you miss lunch.
Great food, clean, private pool
Friendly staff, clean room, nice pool and lounges, food and drinks available all day long
