    • They kindly upgraded me from a room to a cottage. it was quite spacious with lovely surroundings and very close to the beach and pool. The breakfast was great, lots of choices.
    • I loved my room; the bed was great. Solid shower. Wonderful service. Excellent breakfast, stunning views. The staff was wonderful
    • The location was excellent—just a short drive from Heraklion and conveniently close to key attractions like the Palace of Knossos and the Heraklion Archaeological Museum. On-site parking was a major plus and one of the main reasons I chose a resort just outside the city rather than staying in the town centre. The breakfast was enjoyable, offering a good variety to start the day, and the resort's private beach was beautiful and a lovely spot to relax.

    Cons -

    • Unfortunately, the reception and check-in experience was one of the worst I’ve encountered during my travels abroad, and certainly the most frustrating during my stay in Crete. When I booked through Booking.com, I paid in full, including taxes, as confirmed on my invoice. However, upon arrival, I was asked to pay additional charges for taxes. Despite showing them my Booking.com confirmation—which clearly indicated taxes were included—the staff insisted they had not received payment for them and requested a separate transaction. When I explained that every other hotel I stayed at in Crete included taxes within the original booking, I was simply told to contact Booking.com to resolve the issue. I tried to point out that the issue was not with Booking.com's process, but rather with the hotel’s own handling of bookings, but this was dismissed. In addition, the room I was given had a very strong smell of cigarette smoke, despite being advertised as non-smoking. It was extremely unpleasant. The room also lacked expected amenities—there was no shampoo or conditioner provided, only a razor, bar soap, and a shower cap. After a long day of sightseeing, I was looking forward to relaxing and watching some Netflix, but the television did not support streaming services or allow casting from a personal device, which was disappointing. Lastly, the gardens on the property were poorly maintained, with weeds growing throughout, which detracted from the overall presentation of the hotel.
    • Our telephone was broken since the first day. Informed the receptionist 2x but no one came to check the phone. Upon check out we got so much luggages we had to carry all them by ourselves plus our 1 year old then the other receptionist guy said: “why you did not call me?” And i answered, the telephone is broken since from the start. He did not say anything.

My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights and let me just say, everything was wonderful. The room, the pool, the beach, the food, all just so amazing. Only thing I will say though is that I was a little disappointed with the TV in the room. There’s only cable and as a person who can’t understand Greek, I found it disappointing. Everything else though was great. I love John!

We had such a nice stay at Civitel, the Hardworking employees made such a huge difference! We enjoyed a wonderful week here, the Food was amazing, especially the dinner. The breakfast was good but repetitive. We had the chance to try lot of greek Food, in our opnion the greek evening was by far the best culinary experience. The hotel is super clean and organized. Mini Golf and Tennis free of charge. We were so grateful because they offered us late check out free of charge. This attitude and gestures make this hotel so special. It was our anniversary and they prepared our room with beautiful decoration. Overall a very nice hotel at the beach. The employees and their sprit make the place special! We would be back:)!

We have never experienced that in all inclusive only local soft drinks are included, if you wanted Coca Cola or Fanta you would need to pay extra. Local drinks were fine at the Main Restaurant but in the Main and Pool Bar they were terrible, neither sparkling nor cold. We have informed the Restaurant Manager and he took this Super politely as room for improvement and was happy for the honest Feedback.Lack of evening entertainment

    Proximity to beach, pool

Some facilities were run down, there was debris on the beach like cigarettes

    8UlkarPosted on: 7-12-2024

Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We found everything we needed. The staff were very kind and polite, attending to our needs promptly. The Greek sweets were perfect! We stayed for a week, and as a bonus, we were treated to a complimentary dinner at Onirókipos Restaurant, which was fantastic—the food was excellent!

The breakfast was the same every day and quite poor. The lunch and dinner offerings were not very delicious. Good drinks were not included in the All-Inclusive package. The internet was very poor at night. Additionally, the hotel was dull in the evenings, lacking entertainment options; some days there was no music at all, which made it quite boring for us. There wasn't anything around the hotel either. Considering the services, the hotel was quite expensive.

Super friendly staff. Very clean. Beautiful territory of hotel.

Very nice environment. A perfect bungalow very close to the beach. Fantastic new restaurant in the reception area. Good quality of food and excellent service!

A bit too noisy the breakfast area, but the variety of the food can compensate that.

Friendly staff, 25m pool and on the beach. We were upgraded to a beachfront room on arrival and nothing was too much trouble.

The surrounding area didn’t offer too much choice of restaurants and shops but it’s a quick taxi into the capital.

Super cosy bed, beatiful bungalow, great shower, always accessible swimming pool for morning swimm, friendly staff, rich breakfast. Bus 25 min dor to door to Heraklion city. Perfect.

Really liked the resort, so calm and peaceful! Loved all the palm trees. Lovely staff!

The sand flys on the beach. Got bitten alot!

    10AllisonPosted on: 4-12-2024

This hotel was the best hotel I have ever stayed at AND the least expensive one I have ever stayed at. The value was off the charts fantastic! I would stay here again over and over. I don't know what it is like in the peak season of summer but we were there in early April. We arrived around 21:00, and this was not an issue at all. We were shown to our rooms and then taken to the restaurant where we were given a "Welcome Snack" of an apple, a banana and a small plate of cold meat, cheese, and veggies with a drink - for FREE - who does that? It was like being welcomed into someone's home, not a hotel. Breakfast was included in the price of my room, and it was excellent. I am not kidding; if I can get this same service and price again, I might go back to Crete just for the hotel, never mind the amazing Greek Island.

    That I couldn't stay longer.

Everyone’s so friendly; close to the beach; room is awesome, spacious

Couldn’t change the language on the tv or airplay
