Pros +
- the breakfast was incredible having the same table waiting for you every day was also great. The spa was stunning the staff were really helpful and the hotel itself is beautiful.
- Thankfully I was staying in a double room on my own, which I found more than comfortable, but had I had to share it, it would have been a very tight squeeze. The breakfasts were fantastic. There was something for everyone, massive selection, and I loved the fact that they had a super juicer. The Spa facilities were super, and I had a lovely massage.
- Design, Beautiful Area
Cons -
- would have appreciated being shown where all the facilities were when I arrived at the hotel finding the spa was a little tricky and also the ski lock up. Room service would have also been a good added bonus. Also accessing the pool through the restaurant was a little daunting if your in a robe.
- There was actually nothing I didn't like about the Eder.
- The hotel and our room were directly opposite the church. Very loud bells start tolling at 6am each morning and every 1/4 hour through the day till late. Staff not well managed and some male waiting staff were a little belligerent, cocky and unhelpful as clearly they were summer staff only who didnt care. Food uninspiring and prawns in soup served raw and led to sickness

The breakfast was fabulous, the sauna and the spa were great!
The small is a little bit small
Great hotel, Great breakfast, Great wellness zone
No connection from welness to the pool (eventualy thought dinning room while guests eat), very small inner pool
Very friendly staff. Lovely facilities, feels like a small family run hotel
Very little on the menu for a vegetarian with severe gluten allergy
Downtown location is great, pool is super, staff is nice and helpful, hotel itself is very nice inside, all clean and of course great kitchen.
View from the room was to cemetery, coincidentally there was also a funeral, I guess just consider if travel with kids, I guess no other room was available at the time of my visit, otherwise hotel is perfect.. Pricy but the location is close to the lift so understandable..
Absolutely everything. Location, vibe, food, decor, room, views, staff.
The location in cosy Maria Alm, the interior/decoration, the spa facilities (which are really good), and the restaurant (especially the breakfast!) are very good. A nice place to have as base in the region
The room was quite small. Staff was sometimes (especially during breakfast) not so customer friendly.
Absolutely beautiful property, full of character, the perfect mix of new and old.
Our set menu food was a little meh sometimes. We ate at their sister hotel ‘Sepp’ one evening and that was superb. A huge comparison.
Very nice room; very well appointed; excellent breakfast; great location
Dinner not quite the level of the price; in total quite expensive; no parking
SPA zone is realy cool!
We were expected any kind of outmeal for breakfest but didn't get it. This hotel is ok, but it is realy overpriced. We had one double room with balkony for us and studio for our daughter and in the both rooms we saw on the floar some kind of insekts like cockroaches. Not happy about that! The SPA zone in this hotel is divided into a zone for naked people and a zone for guests in swimming suits like us. But naked couple came into our zone and felt very comfortable. We couldn't say the same about us.
Everything was great at Eder Hotel, from the time of check-in, until the check-out. Attention to detail was great in every way, the whole branding and own products like the hand sanitizers just give it a great touch overall. Also the small touches like the personalized SPA bag, the complementary tea and voucher for the cable car in the end made it an overall great experience. Also the food at the cozy dining area outside was great and so were the drinks at the bar which stayed open until late hours. Breakfast was very good, once you figure out where everything is and how everything works, the dining/breakfast are was very well decorated and we loved the nice touch of the self-service juice/drinks area in the bar. Also thumbs up on the mixture of styles, from modern, to traditional Austrian to contemporany, they all blend in together and the different room styles mixing together provide you different areas to experience.
These are just nitpicks and they did not, in any way, make us less happy about our stay and experience at EDER. We thought it would be good to have some more information on how the different restaurants/dining areas work, where you can/should eat. We found it a bit confusing and the info guide was missing that information. Likewise, it would be good to have a some briefings or guidances displayed while breakfast is being served, explaining where one can find the different areas (it isn't that straightforward to figure out where the chef is, and that you should actually go inside what is normally a serviced bar to prepare your juices and drinks). One last remark is the way the indoor pool is structured, as it is the only pool area you can use a bit later in the day, if you do so, you have to enter/exit through the restaurant area, which makes it not so nice for the folks using the pool as well as for the ones having a meal. This is of course a bit hard to change as everything has already been built.
Really nice hotel and facilities
Noisy guests returning to their rooms well into the early hours of the morning.
Wow…What a wonderful experience!! The owners and staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Absolutely one of the best places in all our years of travel. We will definitely return!!
