Pros +
- A very charming hotel! From the moment we arrived until the day we left, the staff were simply amazing — always pleasant, helpful, and incredibly attentive. They really went out of their way to make everything perfect. The hotel itself is beautiful and full of character, with a true sense of authenticity. An unforgettable stay!
- Loved the view of the mountains. Loved the food and the staff at the restaurants. Both food and staff at restaurants are second to none. Loved the interior design, walking around the hotel every room and space is absolutely perfect and unique.
- the smell of fresh wood and the cozy environment and facilities are amazing
Cons -
- The Therme is naked, which is enforced by staff. We likely wouldn't have come if we knew this. It wasn't even people being modest with a towel around them, literally everyone walking around fully naked. Big culture shock and made it that we then did not use the areas as it was too much for us.The only area we could use was the 2 swimming pools. The infinity was amazing, however it does not have direct access to indoor. So if like us you go in winter you have to jump out of a beautiful 30 degree water, soaking wet in minus 5.5 degrees to get inside again. The spa next to the infinity was drained and not on while we were there. The inside pool temperature was having issues with the temperature. You do not have control over your room temperature. It was far too hot for us, which made us both have bad sleeps. The toiletries were not good. I have never been to a hotel where they only provide you a mix of shampoo and conditioner - the one men use. As a female with long hair, I need a good conditioner. I was shocked at a place that costs this much I need to bring my own. I stay at hotels across the world regularly and have never had this issue before. When we first checked in they offered us a sparkling wine, which we said yes to. They brought it out with a warm towel. A welcome drink is VERY normal for a resort of this level. To our shock when we checked out we were charged for the welcome drink!! I don't even know if this is legal in Italy? It definitely wouldn't be in my home. If you're going to charge for something the person needs to be aware of the price before consuming. It was a slap in the face for the price we already paid for the room and to be offered the drink on check in and without being told we would pay if we said yes, this is unacceptable and made us leave with a bad taste in our mouth.
- the skypool were amazing but was hopping it was 3-4 degrees warmer to enjoy the experience with the cold weather
- The sound isolation of the rooms wasn’t perfect.

the skypool were amazing but was hopping it was 3-4 degrees warmer to enjoy the experience with the cold weather
The spa is amazing. The meals are just fantastic.
The sound isolation of the rooms wasn’t perfect.
Clean , delightful restaurant staff, leisure facilities
Not very busy and staff sitting around talking
Full buffet breakfast with incredible choice plus offer of cooked breakfast on order.Full range of teas to be made oneself.
The food is incredible. The staff are so lovely, spa treatments are the best I’ve ever had. Views are stunning. This was the most perfect and beautiful way to relax and celebrate or Honeymoon. Thank you Hotel Fanes. You exceeded our expectations completely
Great hotel, especially chalet rooms are top notch. SPA facilities are amazing.
Dinner is really just mediocre and was somewhat disappointing.
The breakfast, 4pm buffet, and dinner were sensational! We couldn’t have asked for more. The facilities are incredible and the hotel is in a great location for driving to different top sights: Tre Cime Lavaredo, Cinque Torre, Vajolet Towers, Seceda Ridge. We had an amazing time. The staff are brilliant and were so attentive at mealtimes. 5 stars from us! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We didn’t realise we would be charged €6 per bottle of water with dinner ? which came as a surprise at the end of the week when checking out.
Very luxurious, excellent food and wine, great pools (indoor and outdoor), very friendly and efficient staff and, with the ever available shuttle to and from the gondola in a fantastic position
Fabulous hotel. Wonderful service. Family friendly. Highly efficient shuttle to the slopes and back. The food is just magnificent. The pools and wellness areas is amazing. I cannot recommend it enough. We will be back
There was nothing not to like. As per some of the other reviews we were some way into the holiday before we understood the full extent of the spa and wellness facilities, be sure to ask for a tour.
Hotel Fanes is easily the best hotel in the Dolomites we have ever stayed at (and we frequently travel to the area). The hotel location is on the quieter side of Sella Ronda, yet it is just 40 minutes from Cortina and 10 minutes from Corvara by car. The hotel staff is at the highest standards possible. The restaurant is on the high end, and the wine choice is extremely good. The buffet bar is one of the best we ever experienced.Twenty-five meters long outdoor pool is excellent for lap swimming. Turkish baths and saunas are nice for relaxation.
I would appreciate it if the saunas and steam baths would have longer hours of operation.
The people working at the hotel were very friendly and have accomodates almost all of our requests. The hotel as well is incredibly nice and well kept - the SPA area was really nice, and they are currently building a new Sauna.
I wished that we would be informed that the Sauna region would be closed for renovation. There was another Sauna available which everyone could use. However, informing us about the change would have been nice.
Room is spacious and peaceful.
Could provide better instruction how to reach pool and saunas
This was the highlight of our trip to Dolomites. The view from the hotel is amazing. The smell of fresh wood everywhere in the hotel is so nice. Big nice pool and jacuzzi. The afternoon snacks were delicious, so was the breakfast. The staff is very nice, the reception was always smiling and making us feel welcomed. It was a nice stay overall, worth the 5 stars.
The only thing I could say I wasn’t impressed about was the dinner, one night it was okay, the other night I found the dishes a little bland. Also I didn’t like the dinner restaurant as it has no AC and it can be pretty hot in there.
my wife and 2 kids, boys 12&14 were very very satisfied with everything
the rooms have been very comfy, clean and the mountain lodge interior design we liked very much.
the smell of wood is everywhere. Cosy rooms ,splendid SPA, Tasty breakfast . Friendly staff.
Location is uncomfortable, there isn’t any interesting City nearby . SPA unfortunately only for 16+ ( I have kids 14 and 11 that’s why it was also drawback for me)
This is a luxurious property where all big and little things have thought throught to please the guests. The hotel itself and key facilities (spa, swimming pools, relaxing areas, etc...) are simply astonishing: beautifully decorated in the local style but modern enough to be super comfortable for today's guests. Food is excellent: breakfast, afternoon merenda and dinners were always enjoyable and very creative. We had an excellent stay! And San Cassiano is a real gem in one of the most beautiful mountains in the world!!
Breakfast was exceptional as was dinner
Not being able to take my dog to dining room
Great stay, I would suggest AC with this global warming :( Beautiful property!
