Pros +
- The room was very cozy, and the hotel enjoys an excellent location with both a pool and tennis court on the premises. The restaurant was absolutely delightful, offering an excellent breakfast and a superb dinner. Although the hotel looks quite old from the outside, the interior has been beautifully renovated. Another pleasant surprise was the spacious on-site parking area.
- Good location but long hot walk up from the beach .
- Coming up the driveway to the sight of this gem of a hotel was fantastic. Like something from an Agatha Christie novel. The hotel has been taastefully restored with a delightful bar/lounge area, comfortable dining room and tempting outdoor patio. Wrong time of year for a swim but the pool did look inviting. Our room didn't face the sea but did have a cosy balcony. All in all we loved our stay - thoroughly recommend.
Cons -
- It’s seriously deteriorating. Carpets, windows, everything needs a huge overhaul. The building was lovely 50 years ago. Good bones.
- The room was exceptionally tiny. That was fine for us for an overnight to get out of the rain, but definitely very tight.

Great location, but with all the one way roads, once you drive out it’s a big loop to come back. Best to stay parked at the hotel and go on foot.
The room was exceptionally tiny. That was fine for us for an overnight to get out of the rain, but definitely very tight.
So close to the beach, and bars restaurants the pool was lovely, also. Some great original features in the Hotel, Only had breakfast one day but that was good.
We loved the Grand Hotel. We had a large unrenovated room on the top floor, two big opening window doors, a balcony with a spectacular view over the gardens and the sea beyond. The hallways are shabby, things in the bathroom were not in perfect condition, but who cares, it has charm by the bucketful, relish the beautiful entrance hall and dining room with their gorgeous tiled floors, the light from huge windows. Great pool. We had lunch outdoors there and the most delicious dinner one night in the restaurant. Friendly helpful staff.
The hotel is in an exceptional location! It has a parking lot which is a must in summer in this location. Surrounded by an extensive park with big trees, It reminded me of the elegant hotels of the XXth century! It is being renovated but it preserves its grandeur, it has a charm. The rooms are not very spacious but they have a balcony with a table and chairs with view on the lawn, the big trees, the park and the quiet …… Walking distance to the beach, the Promenade Rose (the boardwalk), and its restaurants. A great pool bar where you can have the best lunch by the pool I have ever had!
Close to the sea, lovely sea view from our bedroom.Good breakfast.
Location is amazing. Swimming pool lovely. Room with balcony lovely
Restaurant and food choice
Beautiful and charming hotel. We paid extra for the queen room with sea view. The room was nice but the bathroom needed to be redoing. It was very old… We saw on the hotel information leaflets that some bathrooms were new. Maybe we just had bad luck. The service staff were warm and welcoming. The pools is beautiful and the hotel is full of old people that looks like they have been coming here every summer for years. It’s got an eighties vibe. This hotel has a sol.
Unfortunately the pool was full of annoying kids with disrespectful parents. Specially there was a family with like 7 kids and they thought they owned the pool. Lots of screaming and playing with the water guns. My book got weak twice… Another problem was that there are limited sun beds and sun umbrellas and people would go to the pool, leave their towel in the sun bed they liked and leave. There was a couple that returned after 5h… Rude! Whilst many people in the pool had no shade nor space where to sit down. Half of the beds were taking by people that was not on the pool. The hotel should do something about it…Also, 5€ for an americano….
Location and swimmingpool and seaview from the room
Bathroom is really small and shower leaked, no curtain so the whole bathroom wet every time
Very close to the beach, friendly staff, good breakfast(some more diversity and home made pastry would have been appreciated though). Free parking. Check out at 12:00z
Renovated room / everything new
No pool service. No breakfast after 10 am. Staff badly trained and so rigid. Most answers to most questions were “not possible”. This could be a great hotel with some tlc and continued renovations. Currently it is mostly in need of a face lift. Not being able to get water whilst at pool and instead being told to go inside the hotel, past reception and to the restaurant seemed very staffed. Never mind the possibility of slipping of in a pool and being given glass (health & safety) it’s not ideal to get dressed to get a drink. When I asked if the gentleman working in dining room could point me in direction of baggage room his response was “no, I work in the restaurant”. Surely staff have an awareness of rooms available to tourists? The lounge looked nice but again massively underutilised. No drinks later in the evening available at the bar. In bedroom coffee machine but no spoons. No hand towels in bathroom. Could be a gem but the levels of service sadly lacking.
Nostalgic Grand Hotel under restauration. 100 meters from the beach. Pleasant sea side promenade without cars
The small room at the back.
Staff were very attentive, hotel very French
Pool a bit too cold
The sea view from the room was lovely - worth paying for. The room was bright. The bed was very comfortable and the blackout curtains were great. Parking in the hotel grounds was easy and free. Staff were polite. The hotel has an attractive renovated lounge, a pleasant restaurant and bar and a nice shady terrace. It's a short stroll to the beach through the hotel grounds. Lovely old trees in the grounds. A relaxing and peaceful stay.
Overall very pleasant but some details...The balcony was smaller than expected and the room, though a very good size, did not seem quite as big as in the photos. There was only one chair in the room. There was no room service menu. A kettle in the room would be better than the coffee machine. The swimming pool is very nice but needs an entrance with handrails. At this time of year (early June) the bar/cafe by the the pool was closed.
Location, friendly staff, parking and nice rooms
I liked everything
Incredible sea view from the window, dog friendly facilités, incredible garden around
The property need renovation
The hotel was amazing - faded elegance from a bygone era - but faded in a wonderful, French glamorous way, nothing negative at all to say. Rooms were very clean and functional, beautiful view, comfortable bed, air con etc. 5 mins walk into town/village and very near to the beach. The swimming pool was glorious - clean, fresh water, nice beds around the edge or on the grass. Just lovely.
Ummm - if forced to find something I'd say the kids running around in the bedroom on the floor above but .....
