About

Ski-in/ski-out Après Ski" hotel THE LARIX*** is a charming family-run hotel in the best location in Saas-Fee, offering 25 comfortable double, family and single rooms with mountain view or village views. Our hotel is right on the ski slopes and near the Spielboden cable car. Ski elevators, ski schools meeting point, ice skating and a curling rink in winter as well as a sport field with a tennis, volleyball and football field are just in front of the hotel. From the "mountain view" rooms, you can enjoy views of the highest mountains in Switzerland, such as the Dom or Allalin. The Larix also offers an Après ski bar, where you can enjoy parties or live music until 7 pm in the winter, and a food corner for a quick lunch. A car-free resort with a family orientated atmosphere, Saas Fee offers beautiful scenery for summer and winter activities. The village itself features shops, restaurants, bars and clubs, for the all important après-ski scene.

    Pros +

    • On the slopes with a good breakfast. Friendly staff and fun après-ski which does not last too late so you can sleep.
    • Location... possibly the best location in the whole resort. Very close access to slopes and lifts.Comfortable bedGood powerful showerYoung male receptionist gave very helpful advice about sending an item our son had left behind after his departure
    • Great location. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is pretty good. The apres ski bar is great.

    Cons -

    • The female receptionist was not very helpful. When we arrived, we told her we were looking for a place to watch the international rugby match. She said she didn't know anywhere we could watch it. Later (after much searching, phoning and walking) we did find a place to watch it, and we told her afterwards where we'd gone. She said, "Yes, that's our sister hotel." Why didn't she know or share that they showed international sports in their very nice bar on a very big screen only 5 minutes walk from our place? Also, we then discovered there is a large tv right there in the lounge of our hotel... However, the room tvs had no working UK channels, so maybe the lounge tv was the same.
    • The receiptionist wasn't very helpful.
    • Bar inside hotel closed by late afternoon so couldn’t use after skiing.

The ski room was little basic. It was often left unlocked. Needs a different system perhaps a key code lock

    2JenniferPosted on: 3-2-2025

Restaurant closed and bar/cafe often closed. Overpriced and not 3 star hotel.

    9MartinPosted on: 3-1-2025

Directly on slopes for skiing and return.Taxi service provided by hotel on arrival at bus terminal and on departure.

Bar inside hotel closed by late afternoon so couldn’t use after skiing.

-Location is amazing -Aprè ski nearby is super nice-pastries in the reception desk

-Rude personnel (the lady in reception; rest were super friendly and accommodating)-Very old rooms with bad insulation from neighboring rooms-Breakfast very bad quality and very limited options-Ski room not accessible from the building interior-A lot of families and can be very noisy as the spaces are really small

    Location, breakfast, family room

great location, excellent apres ski, no cars

    Switzerland is just expensive

    9StephenPosted on: 1-17-2025

The location could not be better, 50 meters from ski lift & ski back to skiroom door. The staff were very welcoming and efficient. Prompt shuttle transfer to parking garage.

    Location, professional staff, clean rooms

We had the most incredible waitress named Anna from Spain. She was always kind and supportive i.e. by heating up our "Cholera", some special local food, in the oven for our hike. Muchísimas gracias por tu ayuda

The Saas - Fee Pass offers free acces to all cable cars in the Saas region. But the hint wasn't obvious enough on the print out. So, we missed it.

The staff were all really welcoming. We needed a family room and this was perfect as the child room had a door. We had a great view and sat out on the balcony many times. Breakfast was great and Alena even took the trouble to get some goats cheese and yoghurts for my husband, who is lactose intolerant.Location was really good for one of the gondola stations- we could quickly get up to feed the marmots in Spielboden.

We like to have a cup of tea in the afternoon - a kettle or some hot water facility would have been great. We walked 15 minutes to the car park as they had lemon tea and coffee from the drinks vending machine. Bottled water or drinking water in general would have been appreciated. The radiator made very loud water rushing noises very early (5.30) on our last morning.

Excellent location, quiet room, delicious breakfast, super friendly and helpful staff

    10CraigPosted on: 4-9-2024

Elena, the receptionist, was very very charismatic and helpful and just made me and my uncle feel so welcome. Its the first time I have had a rapport like that with the hotel's reception and it was all down to her. MVP at the Larix she is - give her a payrise! Other things that are great about this hotel are its location (its the nearest to the bottom of the the slopes (ski in/Ski out), its the nearest to the ski lift that serves the most and best parts of the mountain, Plattjenbahn) and its vibe (it has a bar and seating area outside where it seems the whole of Saas-Fee end up after skiing, but they close at 7pm so you can be assured you'll have a nice nights sleep and be fully rested for skiing the next moring).

Nothing, it was a perfect stay.

    breakfast, friendly staff, excellent location

Very loud noise from afternoon party. Also the lounge downstairs was closed too early, it needs to be open until at least 10 PM

    8MariaPosted on: 2-17-2024

Location is excellent, almost on the slopes.Clean room and kind staff.

Considering the price of the stay it would be great to have:- a richer breakfast in terms of choices.- a tidy and well prepared breakfast buffet also towards the end of the breakfast time slot.

    2RobertPosted on: 1-22-2024

    Central location nearby many lifts

Terror of dust mites made us to leave home early. Happy holiday and personal health both destroyed due to the Larix hotel.

    8WilhelmPosted on: 1-8-2024

Great family hotel right be the slopes, just rooms a little dated

    9HristinaPosted on: 12-19-2023

Perfect location, warm, comfortable, good breakfast. Very polite and helpful staff

    We liked literally everything
