clean, friendly staff. good location near the beach,
didn't have the best room. terrace was between two buildings.
Perfect location, stuff is helpful and doing a good job.
It's an old small hotel, very simple facilities, there's no water boiler or mini fridge in the room.
£130 to sleep in a hostel in a good location! Joke - felt like we were all sleeping and going to the toilet collectively, the rooms are paper thin, upstairs feels like they are in you room! No wifi - never again!!! Oh and the bar was not open - only if you wanted to take outside????
Above
I could sleep here.
They gave me a hard time because of my dog at 1am in the night. They do not indicate that the pet friendliness only applies to dogs that fit in a handbag. It took some work to convince the receptionist to allow me to sleep there with my galgo.Of course they had no issue charging me extra for this.In the morning they expected me to be grateful that I was allowed in at all with a 30 kilo regular sized dog. What a disappointment.
Great location and close to the beach. We were able to park our car in an adjacent, locked car park, for a small fee.Room had a nice balcony with table and chairs. Very comfortable bed with warm blanket too.Shower was powerful with lots of hot water. Lovely white towels.Very well maintained hotel. Fresh looking paintwork in communal areas. The breakfast was superb. We were served individually. Lots of fresh bread and pastries and everything and more was available. The lady on reception is so friendly and recognised us as previous guests. Nothing was too much trouble,She was very informative, with a lovely smile and greeting. The night man was pleasant too.
Nothing!
The locations is excellent. Good aircon and hot water. Room is spacious. Wifi is good.
Mattresses are old and the sheets/blankets are not great. The hotel is a great location but the hotel is very outdated.
I stayed at this hotel several times ten years ago and the staff is always friendly and speaks english.
I am a solo female traveller.I could not lock the terracedoor which made me feel very uncomfortable at night. I told the staff it was broken but they didnt fix it yet. The showerhead was also leaking. The bathroom sometimes has a weird smell. I get that this is not the four seasons but these are basics..
The location was perfect
Walls were like thin paper, we could hear everything outside and from the other bedrooms. Was hard to sleep well. The hotel needs a decent renovation in general
Friendly and helpful front-desk staff, very close to the beach.
If you are a light-sleeper like me I recommend that you bring earplugs. I could hear other people in their rooms and the street was really noisy at night.
The location is terrific, two minutes walk to the beach, restaurants, shopping. The staff tries to be very helpful and are very friendly, and they speak multiple languages. The beds are comfy and the room is clean. The nearby beaches have lounge chairs and parasols for rent for 8€ each.
It is extremely noisy on the weekend with people coming and going until about 4:00 in the morning, plus the outside noise until about the same time, and the hotel has very thin walls so you hear pretty much everything. You could even see the light from the hallway under the door via a gap of at least a couple of centimeters. My biggest complaint is about advice we got from the hotel in terms of getting from the Barcelona airport back to the hotel. We did a little looking online but didn't find the info, for whatever reason, that the moventis buses leave right from the airport. The explanation from both the hotel employee and the airport information desk (upon our initial arrival to Barcelona El Prat) that we received about getting back to the hotel after returning a rental car emphasized that the fastest way to return would be to take the metro into Barcelona from the airport and catch the bus from there. The metro trip took us so long that we missed our bus and we ended up having to get a cab (because of the late hour) all the way from Barcelona airport back to Platja D'aro. It cost us 180 euros. If the people (three in total -- two at the airport and one at the hotel) who explained this to us had told us that the buses are right there at the airport, we would have avoided this stress and expense. I'm sure the hotel employee was trying to help us get back faster, but it created quite a mess for us. In fairness, we didn't do our own due diligence, but the employee was so certain, saying "this is fast and so easy" that we trusted them and didn't look deeper online. Interesting that we got very similar information from people at the airport on the night of our arrival! Moral of the story: go online and do your research better, then trust yourself.
Location excellent for sea and town Very generous breakfast optionsLovely staffAmazing value for money
Very small bathroomLimited storage space
Hotel location is just 1 minute walk to the large beach with small pebbles and clear water. There was many restaurants near hotel. Room was clean, incredibly big mirror in the bathroom. Strong AC. Useful balcony. Breakfast was the same every day, but you can choose with plenty options. Possibility of covered parking in the side street, only a 100 meters from the reception for 15€ per night (booking in advance is necessary)
Be aware that if you don't want to sleep with the windows closed, you will be disturbed by people from the streets late into the night. Platja d'Aro is a very busy place with a nightlife.
Clean and comfortable, staff excellent.
Noisy guests in another room.
Location perfect, Clean and extremely cool personnel.
The hotel is ok. It's quite old-fashioned without any fancy tech, like access key cards. The location is fantastic though - right on the beach and in the middle of the town. The staff was very welcoming and polite. The hotel has a paid covered parking, which was super useful. Overall, the hotel stay was quite a pleasant experience.
Breakfast was okay-ish, but the choice was not there - no omelet available, which I find odd, and not enough dessert options. It could have been better.
Location is good; free municipal parking available at ten minutes walk. Breakfast: Buffet available at low season, more than expected. Room was clean and ready.
Some maintenance required for building.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming and hotel was clean, bright and airy. Garage parking was a bonus.Location was perfect for beaches and access to other areas. Noisy though at weekend due to clubs opening, but that goes with the area I guess.Good selection of restaurants locally including Pura Brasa which was excellent
Breakfast selection was a little limited and therefore repetitive, but I stayed out of season in March, so maybe better when more people visiting. Not helped by the fact that I am diabetic.
