    Pros +

    • It's in a cave, free breakfast great views, great staff
    • The room had an amazing features with rock-caved wall and antique furniture. It felt like I was living in the Medieval time, however it was also equipped with modern technology like heated floor and strong Wi-Fi network.
    • Beautiful cave hotel, very cozy, great traditional Turkish breakfast, awesome view to watch the hot air balloons. Love everything about the hotel!! Great experience!!

    Cons -

    • Large number of people sharing 2 bathrooms.
    • - It's COLD! The room never gets warm enough, the heated floor was not good enough. - You can only get lukewarm shower. Never gets warm. - You can not flush toilet paper into toilet bowl. - The bathroom has no good ventilation system.
    • Just the smell of the bathroom, needs to have an air freshener. But not a major let down.

The property is good, I like the friendliness of the staff. The room was spacious, the only thing I noticed was just the smell of the bathroom. It needs to have an air freshener but it was clean and full of amenities. I would recommend staying in this hotel in Cappadocia.

Hotel is nicely located in the heart of Goreme and it's a walking distance to shops and dining places. If you prefer a room with a view, do book the 'Balcony Room,' situated at the highest floor of the hotel and it offers amazing views of the city. Do note that there is no lift up. The staff were friendly and will do their best to ensure you have a pleasant stay. Their breakfast were scrumptious too!

The hotel has a fantastic location in the centre of town so everything is within easy walking distance (and you don't have to climb up steep hills to get there). The rooms are on different levels, offering great views over the town, and there is a pool on the top level. The manager is very friendly and helpful and goes out of his way to ensure you enjoy your stay.

The hotel is beautiful, with great breakfast and very well located. Amir and all the staff were really helpful and friendly. Definitely would stay here again!!

Beautiful hotel nice location amazing breakfast. This cave hotel is located in the very city center, close to good restaurants and shops. easy to get to cause there is no need to climb up to reach it which in my opinion was a big plus. Capadocia is famous for its viewpoint! Don’t worry this offers you a great one! So eventhough the entrance of the hotel is not on a hill, the hotel itself develops vertically so you can climb up the stairs to reach the pool and an amazing glassed floor terrace with a stunning view! We got the cave room with the balcony and we loved it! It was big full of natural light and greatly decored. Of course as any cave room the bathrooms tends to get a bit dump overtime but it is the price to pay to have the experience to sleep in a cave. Only down side was that the balcony was not really a balcony as we stayed at the ground floor so the view we were hoping unfortunately was not there. The breakfast had a great variety between sweet and savoury, all things were fresh and they made sure the dishes were always full. Only downside was there was only soluble coffee available and no freshly brewed. No hot milk but only cold. We had a problem on our second day that unfortunately made us really upset as well as we lost the breakfast, and the whole morning (and of you stay in a place for 3 days, i believe half a day gone is a big deal) but the hotel stuff and mainly the manager of it was helpful and thanksfully solved it by the early afternoon. Because of this last point i cannot give the maximum rate but it totally deserves 9/10 stars.

Perfect location, very close to the center of the town. The hotel is very beautiful and the staff was very good. The room was very nice with a great view at the city and the valley. We also find a parking spot outside that was really helpful for us. The breakfast also was quite good, not very close to the European style (not many sweets, mostly savory dishes).

In the bathroom there was a bad smell (from the humidity that stays in there), that if you leave the bathroom door open spreads in the room and it is a bit annoying. Also, on the roof of our room there was a swing, with an amazing view. However, every time another guest went and sat there, it made a lot of noise inside the room, not letting you sleep (it was quite loud).I think the hotel staff should put something under the swing to stop it from knocking on the floor and transfer the sound inside the room. It can be easily fixed.

Location is great. Breakfast was excellent.

Wish that we had our room changed over as we wanted fresh towels and coffee.

The stay was absolutely wonderful! The hotel exceeded all my expectations.A perfect blend of comfort and luxury – I would highly recommend this place. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home.Exceptional service! Everyone went out of their way to ensure we had a great stayThe breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options to choose from. The Rooftop had an excellent view of the balloons taking off in the morning. Spectacular view of the city.

This was a wonderful experience and one that I would gladly repeat. The staff are the best. Friendly and always making sure we’re taken care of. The hotel is amazing, breakfast was always fantastic and I just have to say that everyone has made our stay a fantastic one. From checking in and accommodating every need including laundry services, extending stays and any and all request needed. Shoestring Cave Hotel really out did themselves. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Goreme and although the weather didn’t permit for Ho air balloons while we were here, we were able to capture the beautiful balloons from all areas of the hotel including the rooftop. Top notch service and a definite gem!

Great hotel, built into the caves. Large room and ensuite.Unfortunately our room was overlooking the pool and bar area on the top floor - no lift available and in busy period would be terribly noisy. I would not recommend staying near the pool/bar.Good buffet breakfast included.

Location of the room.Keep these rooms for younger people.

Great location. The most comfortable bed ever

The bathroom was very humid and maybe moldy, but fine for a day or two

Great location in the heart of the old city room was large and very comfortable

As in any old city parking is extremely different to find and if you have mobility issues you require to walk up 51 stairs to breakfast this was not an issue for us and to be honest you would be in a similar situation if you choose another hotel

    7GorpmeisterPosted on: 9-25-2025

Location was great. We had the balcony room so the views were fantastic! Breakfast (Starts at 8:30am) was also quite good with a good selection of foods. Staff were generally quite friendly as well.

Balcony room was a bit old and in need of renovation. There was no safe in the room. Bathroom also doesn't allow you to flush toilet paper. Staff forgot to tell us that you have to request room cleaning via a wooden door plaque and leave the key at the reception. The default is no cleaning.

location, superb breakfast, room, general quirky feel

mould in the shower..a serious issue that needs fixing immediately. mould is not good for anyone loud thumping music at the pool bar.... inappropriate for the location. by all means have music but not so loud that you can't think or hear others
