Cons -
- I didn’t like the the hotel was far from the town to access without a car. Ski in and out was ok but I would have preferred a more accessible hotel. Hotel had transportation but still isn’t very easy to get back and forth from restaurants in the city.
- We could not sleep!!! There is no proper climitizing, the thermostat does not work and the room just keeps heating up more and more, even when you turn everything off. As a result you keep waking up and opening windows that are letting in the freezing cold air (-8 in the night when we were there). So you are constantly in between freezing and boiling and permanently in such discomfort that sleeping is very hard. It really messed up our day on the slopes as we were all completely exhausted.
- In both our rooms air condition did not work at all. It was too cold to leave balcony doors open, but as soon as you didn't, the temperature at night was incredibly uncomfortable ? The food at the restaurant is generally poor, although the breakfast was great. The location isn't good for anything except ski in and out. Far from the village and restaurants. No locks in bathroom doors was also a poor choice. Doesn't really work with families with small children.

Impeccable service and flexible staff. Rooms looked nice on the interior. Breakfast was great. Shuttle worked great.

Excellent stay. Great little touches - made my birthday very special. The staff were excellent and made everything so easy. Ski hire shop reasonable and on site. Breakfast was great. Only thing that we would avoid again is the room service. Would 100000% stay again.
This was an excellent choice for a ski trip to the Sierra Nevada. The hotel is comfortable, the staff (especially those on reception and in the garage) were so welcoming and helpful. We were given a lovely upgraded room. The A La Carte dinner, while not cheap for Spain, was excellent. There was also the option of a buffet dinner or a snack menu in the welcoming lounge bar. We were offered breakfast on arrival at 10.00am and again the next day, even though we only stayed for one night. I really like ski in ski out. This hotel can be if the snow is good enough, but was not for us. However no hotel in the whole resort was ski in ski out during our trip (even those costing 5x the price). The chairlift right next to the hotel will take you down to the main lifts (there is a 5 minute walking connection to the Gondola). It will also bring you back up at the end of skiing and if you ski back to the bottom of the Borreguiles gondola (which for us was operating am only), then it is a couple of minutes walk on the flat back to the chairlift. The snow was Spring snow, and quite heavy at the bottom of the slopes, but what amazing sunshine to make up for that. I was skiing without gloves for much of the trip. The resort has plenty of runs for intermediate skiers (also beginners) and is not busy on week days. No lift queues. We had to rely on maps on our phone as there did not seem to be paper ones, but we soon worked out how the runs fitted together. We were given a courtesy room in the hotel to change in at the end of the second day, so could shower before we began the 2 hour drive back to our house. This room had two sofa beds in addition to the double which would be excellent for a family. There was a boot room in the basement where you could leave skis and boots, and cakes and hot chocolate provided when you got back from skiing. I cannot imagine a better hotel experience for skiing in this region, and we will definitely come back to this hotel in the future.
The spa is lovely but very small, and, I guess to restrict numbers, charges Euro 30 and hour. You also have to book it. Having said that it was a lovely experience, and the steam room in particular was very relaxing.
The women working in the reception were very helpful and had a great service-attitude. Also, the personnel in the dinner restaurant was nice.
The service in the outdoor terrace was slow.
Great location in the upper part of the Sierra Nevada resort. Hotel in general clean and staff eager and helpful. Breakfast was good and included in the price. The hotel shuttle down to the main part of the resort was a great asset.
We used the spa - we found faeces on the floor in the sauna, which was pretty disgusting (other guests using the sauna at the same time had walked through it). My wife alerted the staff whom came, investigated and cleaned the sauna up. It’s a shame the sauna was not checked prior to us entering the spa. On the whole the staff reaction was good, but the incident was preventable. Also the hotel elevator was frequently unavailable due to malfunction.
The kitchen is very good. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast and also went to the hotel restaurant for dinner a couple of times.
The SPA is charged per hour per person, and it is not really a SPA. Just a small pool and a hamam.
Hotel has very good location, right next to the ski slope so we could ski out and ski in which was great. Inside hotel it was very comfortable to stay. Food in restaurant was fantastic. People were very friendly and helpful. There is shuttle service to go to town center and back. We will definitely come back!
I have 2 points for potential improvements. 1 - it was not clear to me how to arrange undergroung parking in advance (when we came, parking was full so we had to park outside). 2 - hotel charges 30EUR per person for sauna which I find pretty mean.
Terrible Experience – Avoid This Hotel
Our stay at Hotel Da Vinci in Sierra Nevada was a complete disappointment. Right from the start, we had to wait an hour to check in because one of their computers wasn’t working. The reception staff was unfriendly and unhelpful, making the whole process even worse. The room itself was old and in desperate need of renovation. It had a terrible smell, and the air quality was so bad that we woke up with headaches. To make matters worse, the temperature was completely uneven—one side of the room was freezing, while the other was too hot. There was no complimentary water, which is a basic amenity in most hotels. Sleeping was nearly impossible due to all these issues, and on top of that, there were no views from the room. The location of the hotel is another huge downside. It’s at the very top of Sierra Nevada, far away from everything. There are no restaurants, no shops—nothing around. The only way to get to the village is by chairlift, which closes at 5 PM and shuts down frequently due to wind. The hotel does offer transportation, but it’s a joke—an old truck that only runs at specific times and requires advance reservation. We had a private event at the Mary Bell Hotel and asked for a ride, but they refused. Since there are no taxis, Ubers, or any other transport options in Sierra Nevada, we had no way of getting there and missed the event—a total disaster.Service overall was terrible. The staff was not friendly, barely spoke English, and didn’t care about guests’ needs. This was easily one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had. We will never go back and strongly advise others to stay elsewhere.
Hotel is near ski slopes and staff was friendly.
Rooms overheated and difficult to control the temperature, furniture could need some updating, foreign TV programs did not work properly, breakfast quality and selection average at most, overall flair is more of a 3 star than a 5 star hotel.
good size rooms, friendly staff and the breakfast was good. Locations is at the top of the village but they have a free shuttle service and easy access to slopes.
Room was very hot and we found it hard to reduce the temperature but it was acceptable
Lovely hotel and super staff who are always willing to help. Wonderful stay and will definitely be back. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making our family reunion trip so enjoyable even though we couldn’t ski as much as we had hoped due to poor weather conditions.
Amazing breakfast Room confortTeam
No way to dry Snow cloth
Style and locación
As skiing with friend , I explicitly asked for two separate beds. 5 * hotel must be able to solve this. Staff did not help , only suggesting finally the sofa bed. Spend one night on the double bed with friend, second night on the sofa. Late night arrival after traffic issues , confusing pickup communications. Ski rental took us 1 hour in the ski shop at the hotel, why not pre-booking option?
Breakfast was excellent, the manager very kindly upgraded to the junior suite which was a beautiful room, the location is a little tricky for the village, but the chairlift is right outside the door and it take you to the center of the village and great fun!
Staff polite and friendly good with dietary needs clean and tidy
It was good
Lovely hotel. We didn’t have a room with a view but it was decorated beautifully, clean and vey comfortable. The buffet restaurant was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. We used the pool and steam room too..: an extra cost but enjoyable.
There was nothing to fault except the hotel is high and I suffered slightly from the altitude!
Breakfast was exceptional, a lot of food to choose from the buffet and they make the eggs, waffles and pancakes upon request. We also had dinner there and it was really good. The room is super clean and all the staff are really friendly and very attentive,
