Pros +
- The hotel is very nice, excellent service, the dining room, the breakfast is great, the location is stunning, I loved the hotel
- Location is great, the view is amazing. The beds are comfortable. The front desk person upon our 4:30am departure made us coffee, water & cookies for travel on our 3 hr train journey. Great checkout!
- Great place, very central and next to the sea. Amazing staff. And have to say the restaurant is one of the best I have tried in a hotel. Exceptionally good.
Cons -
- What I didn't like as a hotel guest is that they charge money for hotel parking. I am a hotel guest. I paid money and parking should be free for guests.
- Wish our welcome was as nice as our departure. No greeting, no one to give hotel details or help with luggage. Not a friendly welcome, just a hand over of room key. The hotel has a musty scent and I felt that someone was smoking near our room. Maybe outside and it was still bothersome. Our linens on the bed were not changed between nights. I know this because my hair band was in the sheets when we returned. There are no wash cloths with the towels in the bathroom. The doors are metal and industrial looking. Felt like a college dorm. The cost of this hotel was more than other hotels we have stayed at in Santa Margherita. I didn’t feel the extra cost was worthy in the off season.
- Room was a bit simple with hard bed. But very clean, tidy and spacious,

Very close to train station ,walking distance ! Access to beach , outdoor and indoor pool !Great breakfast !Staff very nice,
There is an indoor pool and spa , but bathrobes are not provided … they offer to rent one at 5 Euros per day , per person …
Excellent room cleaning service and always had fresh clean towels. View was stunning from our room
Close to beach and easy access to pool
So clean , lush gardens, spa and fitness daily, great food , beach right there for you. Resort living inside a town. Dont even have to leave if you don’t want to.
Thin walls and cleaning staff starting at 7 am. Summer camp wake up whistle !!
Gorgeous views, wonderful service, the beach chairs and swimming location was great, breakfast was delicious!
We loved the beautifully landscaped gardens! We loved being able to walk from the train station to the hotel within 5-10 minutes. Walking to town was very close and accessible. The hotel staff was excellent. The breakfast was terrific with dozens of choices available. We loved going to the spa each day and swimming in the indoor pool (spa). We will definitely return!
Central location in Santa Margharita, easy access to bus to and back from PortpfinoGood breakfast, good size room
Excellent location and service
Room a bit small
Loved the location, a bit pricey. The indoor pool was fabulous especially in winter.
The bed are super comfortable We had a baby bed for our child Swimming pool I side is heated 37 degrees and very nice, we were the only ones in the morning with our child Nice location
The road right behind the hotel is quite noisy, we could hear each car from our bedroom
Great location, garden, views and sea side
Amazing place to stay. Like a travel in time. Great service and comfortable stay, beautiful nature in a charming village.
Italian Riviera lifestyle – I feel like I lucked out with Hotel Metropole. Staying here in March prices were probably lower than in the high season. Metropole has elegant decor, professional and friendly staff, and a gorgeous view. My room was clean and well-appointed, with a comfortable bed, quick hot water, and a deck that looks out over the marina. The hotel breakfast buffet had healthy options, which I needed after eating so much pizza and pasta over the previous week. Highly recommend.
Hotel not too far from the train station. There is parking if travelling by car. Short walk to the centre and bars and restaurants. Staff excellent. Breakfast was also good. Hotel lounge and breakfast rooms are beautiful.
If I had to choose something it would be the small elevator otherwise nothing to dislike.
Beautiful setting. Room was very comfortable. Staff were friendly.
Very clean and cozy
A bit old style still, and unfortunately no tisana at the spa, only tea with bags
Clean hotel, beautiful property, comfy beds and linens. Highly recommend. Nice staff.
Nothing negative.
Beautiful gardens, comfy beds, great lounge area and patio. Good choice.
