Very attentive staff

No air conditioning for a 5 star hotel? Unacceptable the room was in the spa building and it was roasting hot all the time.

We were surprised with a room upgrade to a lovely 2 room suite with a terrace when we checked in. The location was an easy 5 min walk from the train station and close to the waterfront.

The staff was welcoming on check in as was service personnel. Bes was nice.

Was told that there would be 2 welcome proseccos for free from the bar. On the second day we went and had 2 prosecco as we asked for the complime ntary drinks. On check out we find them on the bill and are told that hey are only free if you have them on that day you arrive. This was not mentioned on check in. The drain in the shower was slow and had a foul stench to it. The walking to the annex was not ideal.

Located just one block off the waterfront road, HSMP provides a great base to explore the town/area. The property is upscale with very contemporary styling, providing a pleasant change from more traditionally styled properties. The front courtyard is thoughtfully decorated and a great place for drinks, collecting your thoughts, or interacting with friends. The on-property spa is really nice and was a welcome refresh. I would highly recommend taking advantage of the spa.

Two items stand out as negative. The cost for parking at 30/night seems excessive as well as the cost for breakfast. The breakfast was adequate but not outstanding, it should have been better for 30/pp.

The hotel is overpriced. The air conditioning cannot be controlled from the room - either the room temperature is a chilly 18 °C or, with the air conditioning switched off by reception staff upon request, rather hot. Using the spa comes at a heavy price. A small bottle of water from the mini bar costs 10 Euros.

The staff was very nice, the property was beautifully detailed from a design perspective and the location was perfect to enjoy the stay in Santa Margarita. I highly recommend!

The staff were absolutely wonderful and made sure our visit exceeded our expectations. Our suite offered everything we could need and more with a beautiful, big, spoiling bathroom. Although the hotel is one block back from the waterfront, it is well placed for access for everything you would want to go to and convenient for the station too. We would definitely go back.

The staff was so friendly / beyond helpful , the breakfast was phenomenal, our room / view was amazing, and perfect location. Snacks/ water in room complementary were a perfect touch .

The elevator broke but things happen and they helped bring all our luggage down , which was so generous.

It’s a super clean hotel! Breakfast was superb. Very modern designed and conveniently located close to the train station and the promenade and pier.

The attic room doesn’t have a standup shower. A little awkward to take showers.

Staff super nice. Big modern rooms. Few minutes from train station and beach area with plenty of restaurants.

There are rooms in 2 sections of the hotel. The spa and one set of rooms are located in a close by building to the main building with the front desk, dining area and other rooms. So if you go the spa and your room is in the main building it is uncomfortable to make that walk, which is literally going outside to the street. Besides that everything was great.

The location is good. It is literally within 5 minutes walk from the train station. This is the major reason why we booked this hotel.

Well, the room is a bit dusty. We do not like a room on the ground floor which doesn't give us a safe feeling. We are put on a building at the back which doesn't match our expection of a 5-star hotel. The food in the restaurant is so-so.

Nothing major. You had to walk down the alley to get to part of the hotel.

All of the staff were gracious, informative and very accommodating. The hotel was very nice. Breakfast was wonderful.

This was a high-quality property with a lovely spa! It is nearby all mass transportation, including ferries. This is the best place to stay if you are going to see Santa Margarita or Portifino. Portofino is a 15 minute ferry or bus away, you can also walk there if you want it was so nice to eat so close to the train station when we got there and so nice to be able to get on the train to leave also the bus and are both right out front!

It was a little weird that the building I actually stayed in was not part of the building where they take reservations and you have breakfast, etc. But it was a lovely lovely room and that’s where the spa is as well. Just be ready to walk outside to go to the front desk or to breakfast. I didn’t mind it, but it was a little weird at first.

The hotel is smart and modern. The breakfast staff are friendly. The hotel is located very well for both the town and the station.

The problem with the hotel is that it is a 4 star hotel that thinks it is 5 star. It also has a certain stiffness or formality that prefers efficiency over customer delight. 5 stars hotels do everything to delight their guests. They have a relaxed, sophisticated feel. With hotels, it is all about the details. Here are some of my specific disappointments.1. When we were taken to our room, the staff member said "Welcome to paradise". This is a massive overstatement. It was a nice room, but (for a Superior Room) it was a pretty basic room with two tiny stools to sit on, and no comfortable seating. The beds and pillows were certainly not comfortable or luxurious.2. Two of our three rooms were attic rooms. It says they have a bath and shower. There is no stand up shower (which most people want) but a hand held hose that comes out of the bath and cant attach to the wall. This means people have to sit in a bath to have a shower. Also, they don't tell you until you arrive that they cant switch the air conditioning on until late April (local laws) but one of our attic rooms had windows that were broken and couldn't open. The temperature was 26 degrees. The hotel said they could do nothing. When we pushed for a fan, they delivered one.3. It is not clear that the spa costs 50 euros a day extra per room! Most 5 star hotels make their swimming pools available for free4. There is not even complimentary water in the room. Most 5 star hotels provide this.5. It took the breakfast staff 6 days of our 7 day trip to remember that there were 4 of us for breakfast. There was never a 4 set out, despite the fact that we sat at the same table every day. The minute you put a knife down, they whip away your plate and clear (again efficiency over delight). I think the management is responsible for this6.

The parking is difficult to find and the hotel charges the customers for 30 euro parking
