    Pros +

    • accomodstions, service , and pleasant and tasteful surroundings,
    • Nice and fully equipped
    • Extremely well-run hotel; charming staff that remember your name; breakfasts were excellent; room was comfortable; we loved the decor and the atrium with the birds; easily among my top 3 favourite hotels; dinners at all three restaurants were excellent; we both tried a Lomi Lomi massage at the spa and it was the most relaxed I have felt in years. You really feel like you are taken care of here. They set a standard of service that few other hotels in this price range can match. This is truly a special place.

    Cons -

    • NA
    • I felt like their saunas needed more steam, and there wasn't as big a temperature difference between their swimming pool and their hot tubs as I would have expected. My only complaints in an otherwise impeccable stay.
    • Pools are cold - even in the spa.

Outstanding gardens and service provided by the hotel

Pools are cold - even in the spa.

Staff was very attentive and friendly. Many even learn your name. Facility is extremely well-cared for.

Pricing for full meal plan is Byzantine and frankly eating the same meals a la Carte is actually less expensive.

Amazing garden, staff, wonderful spa and food

The ambience of the hotel is lovely so relaxing and the breakfast selection good. The evening entertainment was excellent

lot of guests did not eat at the hotel every evening they tended to go out locally as restaurants could be quite pricey. I think maybe the spa area inside needs updating now and the rooms too. I go every year and am happy but this was from other guests there questioning the five star. The 6pm bar get togethers could be a bit more imaginative and advertised more as would be a good area and time to meet up with fellow guests. Again this was Expressed by other guests.

The included breakfast buffet is ample for any activities planned. The staff are all very helpful and friendly and the grounds are perfect to relax and unwind while also being close enough to the town centre to walk around. The hotel is perfectly located that even with older parents, their free taxi to and from the town made the steep hill a non-issue.

While the stay itself was fantastic, I was saddened to read that as of 1st November 2025 they will charge a separate fee to use the Spa facilities. The 35 Euros per person per day. It is rather a lot when combined with the treatment costs although the Spa and facilities are great.

The gardens were lovely. Room was very well laid out. Small foyer, with bathroom off provided separation between corridor door & the bedroom area. Bath & separate shower. Balcony which overlooked the pool. Turn down service with a nightly truffle. Good choice at breakfast. Nice spa area. Loved the sculptured leaves in the foyer. Free parking available.

Didn't try the restaurants - a little on the expensive side & had to be booked by the morning. A little way out of the town centre & a steep walk. Immediate, surrounding restaurants of distinctly average quality.

The hotel’s appearance with all the art pieces, The spa , the excellent breakfast with its variety and presentation . The Papagaio and Oriental restaurants are excellent .The hotel locarion .We would like to mention the kindness of Miss Pino ( Reception Manager ) She has amazing personality , she was the only person who could guide us with the exact information doe Carnival events and helped us with ticket’s Purchase The second person who was so special is Miss Karina the hostess of breakfast ans alao was in the Pappagaio restaurant .She was so warm and welcoming for all guests with a huge smile , joy and patience .She knew our namwa without even looking at the lists.Simply a pleasure to meet such an outstanding employee.

The mattress is uncomfortable . The walls between rooms are too thin and it makes it unpleasant to hear what’s happening on the other side most of the time we couldn't park in hotel’s parking lot because they allow other people not hotel guests to park there .

    The spa is really nice.

The hotel is amazing in so many ways, but I think it falls a bit short when it comes to breakfast. It is good, but generic and plain. I would like to see something more creative, or something more local or Spanish, than just British - German inspired basics.

    9MarkPosted on: 2-25-2025

Breakfast was lovely. Good variety, busy after nine though.

The hotel looks a tad dated, but the staff, food, cleanliness and range of things to more than made up

A beautiful resort, top design, with an amazing own botanic garden, fish ponds, bridges, tennis courts, amazing spa and terrific food.

We allways prefer a shower and not a bath tub. Another recommendation- purchase a pizza oven, and have pizzas stand- for lunch, or a part of the Italian restaurant at the hotel. We really love pizza and you make you own amazing breads, so why not bake pizza dough?

    Very good

service in cocktail bar still poor in the evening , something we complained to management about on our last visit

We liked everything, great hotel, everything superlative.

nothing important, the spa closes at 19.00 and it would be great to be open until 21.00, to have a sauna or hit the gym after a long day of wondering through the island or at the beach.

You get what you came for at this hotel. Luxury as well as attentive and service-minded staff and all the amenities you could ask for - maybe a bit dates on the decor? Shout out to Antonio, who took exceptionel good care of us at arrival and departure from the hotel!Room was nice. Clean, great bed, bathroom with all the trimmings and a nice balcony with view of the sea. I kind of expected a bit more extravaganza, but it worked and it is not reasonable to expect suite-like decor when that is not what we had booked. TV had Google Chrome, which was great. The weather was mixed, so we did not try the pool area, but it looked nice. We did go to the spa and we had a good time - especially the outdoor area was very pleasant and we would have spent more time there, if the weather had permitted it.The pool bar served decent food with a few vegetarian options and it was well prepared. Great service also. The breakfast buffet did not disappoint - a ton of options, omelette stand, freshly prepared eggs, but our vegan daughter would have had a hard time finding enough to eat.Of the restaurants, we tried the Oriental and the thai food was great and authenticly prepared. I had the fried rice and it was a huge serving and it could have been nice with more details/trimmings on the presentation of the dish, but again, it was precisely what you would have gotten in Thailand. A bit expensive, but that is would you should expect in a location like this.

For me, it can get a bit much with the exclusivity - we are normally more for the boutique feeling, but this time we wanted five-stars to try it out, and I am not sure we would again, it is not really our vibe. The location was far from the main buzz of the town (which is also clear when you look at a map of the town, so no disappointment there, but the shuttle service is infrequent and cannot be relied on to bring you home if you chose to eat dinner "downtown".

Everything was beautiful, the hotel, the gardens, the spar and the room!

    8MariaPosted on: 1-20-2025

Quiet location but still convenient to get around town. Many guests are older, not a lot of children running around. Beautiful garden and pool area. We loved using the tennis courts! Very nice and accommodating staff

The steam room didnt work the entire week of our stay which was disappointing. They have caged a ton of exotic birds in an open air atrium for the guests to view during breakfast. It's way too many birds for that space. I found it to be so depressing and wished they were free. The rooms need to be refurbished but I understand they are doing that this year.
