Pros +
- Room was clean and cozy, breakfast buffet was great!
- Location and the views. Great breakfast.
- The best breakfast buffet of the dozen we had through Lofoten. Rooms are very small but clean. Great central location.
Cons -
- Room was dirty. Although we wanted a twin room, we were given a room with one queen bed. They asked us to separate the bed ourselves. When we separated the beds, there were fruits etc on the ground. We had no water cooker in the room, when we requested they could not give us one but the coffee and tea were always available at the lobby..
- A little expensive for the size of the room, and the bathrooms are comically tiny.
- Some areas of the hotel appeared a bit worn and dated - but still clean and comfortable.

We loved the room setup and location - large and right over the water, with a view to the open water and mountains. With the nighttime lighting, the view was spectacular. The bed and bedding were very comfortable, and we appreciated having a large table and couch in the room. The breakfast buffet was very good - lots of choices and everything was fresh and flavorful. The inside breakfast area did get crowded, but the weather was nice enough that we could sit outside and avoid the crowds. We appreciated being able to get coffee and other drinks throughout the day. The location was good - an easy walk to shops and restaurants in Svolvaer.

Lovely hotel in a wonderful setting. Helpful staff. Very good breakfast. Room was clean, quiet and beds were great.
location. Amazing views
Rooms need to be upgraded. Hallways dark and carpet worn.
We stayed at the Scandic Svolvaer for one night in September during our visit to Lofoten from New Zealand. We had a very friendly and warm welcome at reception, which was lovely. Although we were a little early for check-in, our room was already ready and we went straight up to find a small-ish but well-equipped room, with very comfy beds and a balcony with a view out to the harbour, which we had not been expecting, but which was wonderful. The receptionist was also very helpful in booking us a cab to the airport the next morning. With a good room temperature and blackout curtains, we slept extremely well. There was an excellent spread for breakfast. The stay was good value for money, we thought. If (when) we come back to Svolvaer again, we'll be staying here!
The hotel is looking a little tired, maybe, but we could see it is very popular. For us, English breakfast tea bags in the room would have been perfect. Also, a lift up to the first floor would be very helpful (we had heavy bags!).
Room on the water’s edge was so inviting and had a wonderful view of the port. Superb breakfast buffet which is better than much more expensive hotels. Staff are excellent and authentically helpful. We’re going to book it again on our return north from Reine to Narvik.
Nice breakfast. Near town. Easy walking to areas of interest.
Front desk at check in not welcoming.
Breakfast is great.Location is convenient.
Filthy fingerprints on the bathroom door.Bathroom sink not draining properly.Hand soap empty.Booked a “superior room”. Got the very first room in the hallway next to the men’s room despite the fact that the hotel was half empty. Could hear the staff talking in their office.Only one window in the room: the door going to the balcony. Door is barely big enough to go to the balcony and balcony itself is covered in cobwebs and spiders. 2 plastic chairs have not been cleaned in a while.Receptionist in the afternoon was not particularly welcoming. The one in the morning was very pleasant.
Location was convenient.Breakfast is great.
Hotel was fairly empty and we were given a room on the first floor on the parking lot.Shower door leaks in the bathroom, no tissues.Very little space in the room especially with 2 suitcases
The extra $ for the balcony was well worth it. We spent one night in a standard room & one in a superior room and the balcony was our favorite part. The location is fantastic, close to everything you want to do in Svolvaer.
Good location
Breakfast finishes early and it gets really crowded in the hour or so before then. It was hard to even find a seat and food was already running low by 9:30am
Location and staff
Lack of comfortable chairs to sit in
Prime location and scenic building. Ample parking. Amazing staff at breakfast.
Poor cleaning: Room cleaning has to be requested or won‘t be done otherwise (which mostly will work for >90% of guests visiting with bus tours and staying 1 night only). We asked 2 times for a room cleaning and were happy someone at least showed up on day 3. However, it was far from „clean“. Bathroom untouched, towels only partially changed (some missing), sheets untouched, not even dirty cups were changed. See pictures below. Absolute no go!
Location and great gluten- breakfast .
Having to pay a lot to park the car outside the hotel
Great location to visit Svolvær, good breakfast, sea front room had an amazing view. Would return.
Expensive, but conscious of the location.
The room with the view on rorbuer, the warm atmosphere, and the breakfast!
Great location, cozy rooms, really nice and fresh breakfast
Parking is not free
Position great staff balcony overlooking water
