    • the staff was very friendly

    Cons -

    • They let people smoke in the rooms even though it is prohibited, the room, bathroom and pillows smell bad
    • No drinking water available (not even for purchase) after their restaurant closes. For this quality/price, I shouldn’t be sent to Oxxo late night just for water.
    • On April 5th, I phoned to add one night to my own reservation, and thankfully asked the young woman to check my group. THE RESERVATION WAS NOT FIXED. She understood that I had called twice before, and said she was going to confirm that I would not be charged. The manager said it was my fault, and that I had to pay for 5 extra rooms. I explained again that I wrote right away on Feb 23, that I had called twice, and had been assured that this was fixed but the manager didn’t care. Furious, I told them to just cancel the whole reservation. I then spent the afternoon on the phone with Booking and BW Corporate, because I knew Los Mochis would charge me. I ended up freezing my credit card to lock them out. And guess what? THEY TRIED TO CHARGE ME FOR THE ENTIRE RESERVATION. But it got declined. I then received a message that they had cancelled at no charge!! I’m not sure who intervened, as I sent screen shots of my messages to Booking and Corporate. This was an expensive lesson for their manager. Had he taken 2 mins out of his day to investigate my reservation, he would have seen that I wrote the same day the mistake was made (same second!). He would have seen that it took someone 8 DAYS to read that message and respond. But the reality was, I had also called twice before, once in February and once in March. They had plenty of time to open the rooms and get other customers. I do a lot of reservations for my company, and will return to Santa Anita next time we visit the Copper Canyon. The manager hasn’t just cost this hotel for one reservation - this was one of many group trips. The price of arrogance is painful, I guess…

Joanne speaks excellent english and tried to help. The manager was dismissive of the issue and made this an unbelievably terrible experience. On Feb 22, I made a complicated reservation at BW Los Mochis. I own a tour company and had some guests arriving on April 8th, and some on the 9th. I was arriving on the 7th, but later decided to fly on the 6th. I booked 2 rooms for 2 nights, then 5 rooms for 1 night, but I didn’t give the app enough time for the date-change to click. My 1 night reservation went through for 2 nights, and I was unable to change or cancel it because BW doesn’t allow that on the app. I IMMEDIATELY wrote to them thru the app. In the AM, I called right away to explain what happened. I was assured that it was not a problem, that my reservation was now fixed and no charge for my mistake. On March 4, someone read my message in the app and wrote to ask how many rooms I needed. So I called again. I explained again. The reservation hadn’t been fixed, but I was assured again on March 4 that it was fixed, and there was no charge for my mistake.

On April 5th, I phoned to add one night to my own reservation, and thankfully asked the young woman to check my group. THE RESERVATION WAS NOT FIXED. She understood that I had called twice before, and said she was going to confirm that I would not be charged. The manager said it was my fault, and that I had to pay for 5 extra rooms. The bathroom is getting old. The breakfast buffet lacks flavor.

I stayed there twice, either end of my Chepe Express train journey.Excellent central location and very friendly and helpful staff, especially in dealing with the tail end of Hurricane Norma and printing off my boarding pass for my flight back to CDMX.Highly recommended.
