Dorset Gardens Hotel

Large, well appointed and well equipped room. Very clean. Bed excellent. Was nice to walk into a cool room on a very hot day. Large bathroom area. Large parking space at the door. Bistro was great, great food and service (could have had a doggy bag but it couldn't be accommodated in the tiny, shelfless fridge.

Fridge was very small with missing shelves, door retainers and lid on the miniscule freezer (which hadn't been defrosted for a long time and was almost unusable because of frost build-up. TV could only receive one channel (staff came to reset the tv and it improved significantly). Basin taps were missing their hot/cold signs (not a problem for an adult but a potential issue for kids.

Nothing. I payed for a day and the manager, Anthony, told me to leave. I was asleep. He woke me up and gave me no explanation nor a refund. I'm not aggressive so I just agreed.

The location suits me for the purpose of the visits. I have stayed here quite a few times.

The rooms are getting quite tired not worth the money you pay for them.

The room wasn't clean been here so many times this time it was very disappointment room smelt strong with bad body odour floor carpet was wet from not sure the dishes was not washed properly had to wash them b4 use.

room average size, was clean. Bed was comfortable although had a dip in the middle. Bathroom ok although the step in shower caused difficulty due to my mobility issues.

Step in shower as above, the height of the step into the room and the lack of sloped access from the car park to the pathway to the rooms. The hotel section is modernised but motel rooms need to be brought into the 21st Century.

The room was very dated, the hot water vanity tap screamed, the bathroom door didn't close, and the toilet door was hard to close and open

Check in was friendly and efficient. Access to parking right outside our room. We chose to remain on site and had dinner in the hotel restaurant. Service was average, food was similar to pub food and perhaps a little overpriced.

We were excited to return to DG after many years but found that the room appears not to have been refurbished since the 70s. Although comfortable and equipped with a toaster & kettle, the room was small and dated. These rooms were considered quite plush back in the day, disappointing that they haven't been updated. You definitely need your own transport as DG is not centrally located.

Bar fridge stayed on all of the time and froze all drinks and food.

Convenient to location of an event I was attending and low cost. Restaurant was good.

No cafe within walking distance

The family room is spacious and nice, beds are comfy

No plates or cutlery, no complimentary water bottles. Little noise from the late night bar or something or someone blasting music nearby.

Close to where we needed to be. Had air conditioning and a tv and a small fridge.

Accomodation is very dated. The shower took 6 + minutes to deliver hot water and that was with no cold tap on at all. Cutlery in the room missing two forks and the bed made a crunching noise when you sat on the end and was terrible to sleep on.

Very clean staff very helpful I needed a microwave and they bought one to room straight away. Parking right out front room Rooms clean shower good.

The property charged us for items we didnt even take our from the property. Staff are not helpful and rude

The t.v wasn't a smart TV and the pipes made a loud noise for a long time also when the cleaners came in while I was out they didn't make the beds or put fresh dishes in the room or replace the body wash or soap that was used. Room service menu was not updated and also room service didn't pick up the dishes.i was supposed to stay two nights but ended up leaving due to the anxiety caused from the stay from the night before. The meal is had on the last evening was delivered cold and wasn't pleasant to eat very disappointing.
