Mohar Residency - A boutique hotel

Considering the location and price, the rooms are very good. The food from the in-house restaurant is also quite tasty. Staff behavior is courteous and helpful.

Not exactly a hotel. It is a lodge like facility. The room was dark and dusty. Located in a narrow lane. No restaurant available in hotel. No good eateries in atleat 1 km radiis. Only chat shops & small Dabas available. Untrained local boys are employed for service. They demanded 2.5 % extra charge for payment through card. Provided 04 bread loafs and banana for breakfast. Room infested by mosquitoes. Smart TV availablw in room but only yoi tube can be played that too was not possible due to poor wi fi.Overall bad experience, felt loke a prisoner there. I cancelled room after 01 day's stay. They charged extra Rs 400 as commission of Booking.com for cancellation of 01 day's booking.If looking for a comfortable stay and clean neighbourhood, this place is a big No.

Mohar Residency is a real gem in a wonderful part of an awesome city. If you want to be able to walk the streets of India and appreciate the local population, it is well situated. The staff is friendly and the manager is a wonderful person. I make it a point to stay here whenever visiting Kolkata, especially during Durga Puja. For 3 nights or three months it is wonderful

Location is terrible, the bed didn't have blankets, and the sheets were quite dirty. There is constant construction work going on downstairs.

No breakfast facility available. Was advised to have it in one of the outside restaurants.

Still under renovation. Civil work was in progress. Reception facility needs improvement. Staff shabbily dressed.

They were working in the toilet after I checked in and I checked in at 3pm. There was no proper lobby and it was dirty as hell. The comforter was smelly.

The rooms were really good and very artistic, the interiors are so nice that gives you a luxury feels within budget. All the facilities inside the rooms are excellent like AC, geyser, Smart TV which is connected to the internet and has YouTube, Netflix and Prime, leisure time is meaningful at Mohar Residency. The bathroom is well maintained with good sanitary ware and towels, they have provided us with free herbal toiletries like toothpaste, shampoo and shower gel. All the amenities are very nice. The staff service was excellent. Their good behaviour made us feel homely, they are very friendly. Would love to visit Mohar Residency again.

The ground floor/ reception area is not ready yet but the rooms are perfectly fine.

The property is still under construction but the rooms are clean and value for money.

There is nothing that can be appreciated except it is new. Infact only the 2nd floor is operational. rest all floors are under construction. Even the reception is not available and there is a local guy who calls himself as Manager his name is Kaushik Saha.

The behaviours of the staff is not at all. The hotel had no guest and is very scary and dangerous to stay with family. There was no helpers to assist us with the luggages and even provide towels and soap. You have to carry the luggage to your room on your own and also bring it back. Also if u need towels or soap have to go down and get it. By paying 3000/- I felt as if I am staying in a local guest house. There is no in house restaurant and so food order has to be given outside. The biggest surprise is they keep the main gates locked every time and when ever u have to go out u have wait for 15 to 20 mins when the person will go up and get the keys. The biggest surprise came in the morning when we waited for almost 30mins for the main gate to be opened. The manager Kaushik went to check the room without opening the main gate and came down after 30mins and said he is unable to find a hanger in the room and unless he finds the hanger he will not open the locked main door or we have to pay additional Rs. 50/- and then only the gates will be opened. We lost 2 Ola cabs during this whole episode. The manager was unable to listen to any request. Finally We took the manager to the room and showed him the hanger, post which we opened the main gates. It is really surprising that in such times of professional hospitality we have such hotels which operate in such manner. Above all Booking.com are promoting such hotels with recommendations.

The ambience was amazing, decoration was nice, rooms were clean and all the amenities were available. Great place to stay.

Fooding should be included.
