A stunning property in a unique setting -- fabulous! The hospitality offered by both staff and management was warm, gracious, and informative. The rooms, meals, and common spaces were top-notch. The view from the roof-top pool at sunset - unparalleled. Nothing about our stay disappointed.

We wish we could have stayed longer!!!

This really is a hidden gem and a fabulous place to stay in Calcutta. Everything exceeded our expectations. It is an oasis of calm after the craziness of Calcutta. We had a huge comfortable room with terrace and a large bathroom. Our suite and the communal areas were very tastefully decorated and the views from the dining terrace and swimming pool terrace were spectacular across to the Victoria Memorial and Howrah Bridge. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. It was also amazing value compared to other places we stayed in India.

I cant fault anything

The staff were friendly and so kind. They went out of their way to make our stay exceptional. The property is beautiful and a quiet and luxurious.

Very comfortable oasis of calm

Breakfast was OK, but the dinner and lunch menu seemed to try too hard with overly fussy western options. A more simple lunch and dinner menu with a connection to Kolkata would have been welcome

The hotel is truly beautiful with a magnificent view on the memorial. The rooftop pool is also amazing with a view over the city and the neighbourhood. We loved being in a quiet place in the middle of the busy city

The arrival in the building is a little weird. Since it's a building shared with offices and apartments you are not welcome by the hotel staff but by a security guard downstairs. Anyone can also access your floor through elevator without having to check in the hotel first and no one is there to check. It felt a bit strange. The gym is tiny and not very well equipped. At this price we expected a real gym with sauna, etc.

Hard to find and a worrying exterior but that makes the surprise of finding such a gorgeous property in such an unexpected place all the more joyous!

Everything. The food and beverage manager was wonderful. Felt like home when he chatted. In addition, the receptionists were friendly, well groomed, and presentable. I loved the fact that they were very coordinative and proactive at the highest order. The waiter Ashmith was very helpful in the evening. He is one gem of a person. In addition, Faisal, our breakfast server, was really good with his service, too. Kudos to the waiters, too. Overall the staff was excellent. Would recommend people to house themselves here if they want a complete Calcutta experience.

There was nothing to dislike.

Location was great - very close to park street. The property is very tastefully done up. The staff are very courteous and efficient. The food is excellent.

The view from the room wasnt particularly great. It opened into one of the neighbouring buildings and not the Victoria park. Also the rooms need sound proofing as the noise from vehicles on Park Street can get loud

Food and drink at the New Years Eve dining service was pretty poor. We turned up half way through and food was clearly just left out at the start with no one checking freshness or topping up. It’s not what we would have chosen to eat and in retrospect should have gone out for cheaper and much better quality food. It was also frustrating that we couldn’t see a menu in advance (I asked a few times and couldn’t find on the website or Instagram page) to make a decision, and we were charged extra for a full “wine flight” (5 glasses each) but between us only had 3.Most irritating thing about our stay was that for the majority of it we were unable to access the rooftop pool area as it was booked out 3 times across 2 days for private events. It’s one of the main reasons we chose to stay here and we were only able to use it for Max 30 minutes. There was no prior warning (at booking or closer to the stay) and was really frustrating. You can’t charge exorbitant prices to guests, using a facility as a key draw to entice them, only to then make it out of bounds. We didn’t even get to sit up there for 5 minutes at New Years because they were setting up for another private booking!
