Hotel Aguia Negra

The hotel location is superb with a great view on the islands and the bay of VilankuloThe staff was extremely courteous and helpful.

We were having a huge number of power cuts and hotel WLAN interruptions.

The staff was really friendly, when we arrived the kitchen was already closed but the lady ( which I regret not asking her name) and the receptionist suggested something that could be done for my family and I. The staff at the restaurant were extremely friendly and waited for us to finish our meal without any complain. We will definitely be going back to águia negra.

Got stuck in Vilanculos for 2 days, due to airline delays, and had to find accommodation on very short notice. Booked at Aguia Negra and arrived about 15 minutes later. The staff were all exceptionally friendly and accommodating - due to arrival on short notice, my room didn’t have towels & shower amenities, this was immediately rectified when I asked at reception. My unplanned stay was a lovely extension to my vacation, and would love to return and spend a few more days at Aguia Negra. The gentleman at reception even arranged a TukTuk to take me into town, as my luggage was sent home via car. The guy driving the TukTuk was once again very friendly and accompanied me into the market & shops to find what I needed.

No complaints that I can think of

All was good, just stayed one night but looking forward to come again.

The facilities are good, with a good location and the rooms are comfortable and it has everything to make ones experience a good one

We at Aguia Negra main reception right after 3pm. 30 minutes after the check in, we were still waiting for someone to take us to our rooms. then an employee came and said that the rooms were not ready because the washing machine was broken so that need to take the linen from the other complex. Then we arrive at facilities and near the entrance the trash bins were full and very smelly. We had booked to villas and when we arrive around 1 hour after the check in, one of the villas were completely dirty and with leftovers from previous guesses and a bit smelly as well and they were starting to clean another one. around 6pm the rooms were not ready and we left for dinner with all our luggage in the car! When we arrived there the house was almost clean, but the crockery drying on the breakfast table, just one towel per room, the outside braai was still dirty, not enough crockery for 8 people. the following day we left early for the island and when we came back the house was not clean and the reason they gave to us was that we did not leave the keys. However, no one advised us on that. In fact no one guided us to the house. we had to enter and discover everything by ourselves. Although we had some improvements on the next 2 days the services never became good . On the other hand, other rooms were playing loud music up to late and nobody from the villas managemnt complaint. this was very frustrating since as I mentioned the facilities have everything to provide a good experience!

Rooms are clean, perfect, nothing more you could ask for. Great resort. Great service and very helpful staff

Issue on check in which was eventually resolved

We liked the kindness of the staff, the fact that they tried always to help look for solutions and tbe house location. However, besides the kindness and promptness of staff to help look for solutions, the problems we encountered being many, also serious in terms of magnitude and almost everyday did turned us not enjoying our vacation and for the price of $280 a day it was definetly a great disappointment and not worth the money spent.

We were a family of 5, unfortunately we basically had problems every day during our 7 nights stay.DAY 1. Noise during the whole night in the main bedroom coming from the soffit that turned to be confirmed to be bats. They quickly moved us to another villa on the next day.Day 2. Spent half a day moving to another village and the rest of the day following up on the things missing on the second villa: No gas in the stove (fixed at night), swimming pool not cleaned, no tv (at all)Day 3. we asked them to install the tv and fix antenna, since there was no internet (besides it was supposed to be available). after many calls and going physically to the reception they did not fix it. And it was a very down part because we had kids.Day 4. Woke up with the house flooded with sewage water. the cleaners came to help clean. Plumber came to try to fix. Luckly nothing got damaged.Day 5. (24 dec)No water for half a day (we could not take showers or cook in the afternoon). They again went to fix, water came back at around 10pm. Day 6 (25 Dec)Sewage water again came from the toilet reaching the dinning and lounge. Only one maid could come to help so we had to help clean the dirt water ourselves. Plumbers again came back and managed to fix after some hours at night.

It’s a good and solid choice when you are in Vilanculos. Clean, safe, super friendly staff. We had a good time.

It fees a bit corporate.

Everything. Attentive staff, great food, amazing location.

Matilda is a very good host and made us feel at home and made our stay wonderfull. She is a very big assett for Aguia Negra.
