- From the moment we arrived at Kandolhu, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. The team is truly outstanding, and it’s clear that management places great importance on creating a happy, motivated staff. Special thanks to Gobsson, Nasru, Elvie, Nana, Skye, Shaamin, Anjelieta, and the entire Kandolhu team for making our stay so memorable, as well as Dr. Saurav for excellent care.Although Kandolhu is a small island with just 30 bungalows, it offers everything you could want from a luxury resort: wellness facilities, gym, dive center, water sports, a beautiful house reef, and an impressive five restaurants. Dining was a highlight—every restaurant was excellent, with à la carte menus (no buffets except breakfast), making each meal feel special, fresh, and well balanced. The house reef is outstanding and easily snorkeled in under an hour, with abundant marine life including sharks, rays, turtles, and even dolphins. Manta rays and whale sharks are also reachable within 30 minutes. We stayed on the Ultimate Inclusive package, which was incredible. Kandolhu delivers exceptional service, superb food, and a relaxed luxury that makes it hard to leave—and easy to recommend.
- From the very first moment, we arrived at the airport and met the Kandolhu team until our departure. Every detail of our stay was flawlessly orchestrated to create an exceptional experience. Though we stayed for only three nights, the warmth, professionalism, and excellence of the team made it truly unforgettable.Location: The journey itself is part of the magic—just a 20-minute scenic seaplane flight followed by a short 5-10 minute boat ride that transports you to this paradise. The Island: Small, serene, and breathtakingly beautiful, Kandolhu is the epitome of a private island retreat. The Resort: Thoughtfully designed with just 30 villas, the property balances exclusivity and comfort. It offers five outstanding restaurants, a stylish bar, a well-equipped gym, a serene spa, and a sea activities center—ensuring that every guest finds their own perfect way to unwind. Our Villa: We chose an overwater villa, and it exceeded all expectations. With a private pool and direct sea access, it provided the perfect blend of luxury and tranquillity.Staff & Service: The essence of true hospitality is mastered here. The team anticipated our needs before we even realized them, creating a seamless, highly personalized experience. Their warmth and attention to detail set a new benchmark for excellence.Dining: A standing ovation to the executive chef, sous-chefs, and the entire culinary team. The food was fresh, inventive, and packed with flavour. With five distinct restaurants—offering Mexican-Peruvian, Mediterranean, Japanese, Sea Grill, and an all-day dining option—every meal was a delightful journey of taste.Spa: We had the 'couple ritual'. A sanctuary of relaxation, the spa at Kandolhu offers a truly rejuvenating experience. With expert therapists, soothing treatments, and a tranquil setting, every session feels like a retreat within a retreat—perfect for unwinding and embracing the island’s serenity.Housekeeping: Impeccable.
- the house reef and the snorkeling / diving experience and the manta-ray expedition was the best...

- Having to leave. All good things must come to an end and so did our vacation.

- 1. The road. A sea plane with an intermediate landing plus a boat is long and inconvenient, especially in bad weather. 2. The sea. Despite the beautiful pictures, reality looks different (photo attached). I do not recommend taking a duplex villa, in bad weather when entering the sea through sandbags you can damage your limbs. And the view is not beautiful. However, on the other side of the island there is practically no sea - shallow and small, only snorkelling behind the reef. 3. The room. I do not advise taking the hotel in bad weather - the room is flooded with water, which the hotel fights with towels (photo attached). 4. The island and entertainment - it is probably difficult to find a smaller island, no entertainment at all, except for a speaker in the bar, but the hotel management throws a party there for themselves every Tuesday. 5. Management - does not bother you to the level of indifference, you will not see them during the day, there was no communication from them for a week, neither about the return flight, nor about the dinner program, nor about the free sunset cruise included in the offer. However, in the evening you can regularly meet them in the same bar. And also when leaving the island, the whole team vigorously waves after you. Overall, one of the worst experiences in the Maldives in more than 20 years of travel.

A wide variety of food, except breakfast. I actually add 2 points for stuff in the restaurant who really do their best.
1. It is a tranquil location away from the noise. The sunset is amazing. The food is great. The staff is happy to help. I also liked the water activities available in the resort.
There's nothing to dislike.
The trip was truly incredible! We stayed for a week and had a wonderful time, thanks to every individual who worked at the resort, and everyone who had a part to play in putting our adventure together. From the moment we stepped off the boat, we were greeted by the owner and some of the staff, who couldn't have been more helpful throughout our stay, their attention to detail was phenomenal. The food in every restaurant was lovely, and there was enough to keep any palate satiated throughout their stay, along with a plethora of drinks options, whatever your tipple. The location itself was fantastic, surrounded by a magical reef that was teeming with wildlife, from colourful fishes, to turtles and reef sharks. Travel further afield and you can see manta-rays up close and personal, that one excursion was particularly awesome. If you want to be active on the island, the gym is adequately stocked with a enough equipment to keep you busy, and you can use the variety of water-sports equipment too, as well as a nice spa facility that offers expensive, but very enjoyable treatments. If you don't want to be so active, your time can be whiled away simply ogling the incredible turquoise waters, and the soft white sand that envelopes the island. Overall, we hoped that our trip to the Maldives was going to be special, and it exceeded our expectations in every sense, particularly the spell-binding scenery, but also the staff, they were awesome. We enjoyed celebrating our 20th anniversary, and we will no doubt return to celebrate another milestone in the future.Thank you!
The weather - A couple of days we had some rain, and the clouds got in the way of the perfect sunset - of course I am being facetious, this didn't detract from our experience what-so-ever, it was the perfect getaway!
Amazing rooms and beautiful island. Food is delicious and the service is the best!!!
Easy to get aroundLots of activities to do5 restaurants with a barVery friendly and helpful staff
The property is fantastic, clean and the staff is very friendly. It feels boutique, but has facilities of a large hotel (5 restaurants, gym, spa..)
This is the most wonderful accommodation we've ever stayed at. Enjoyed 6 days of ultimate relaxation. The stunning reef is right at your doorstep - we would wake up at 6 every morning with the ocean calling us to come over and snorkel. All the staff is extremely kind and caring. We would like to especially thank Estela and Sinan for always going the extra mile for us. The food and cocktails are all 10/10! You really cannot go wrong with this place.
A fantastic resort - very beautiful with great snorkelling, restaurants & bars, rooms and staff. We ate at each of the restaurants and they were all excellent, we were also impressed with the extensive All Inclusive wine list.During our stay (early May 22) the wind was coming from the west and, judging from the beach erosion, this was the dominant wind direction. We had one of the pool villas on the east side of the island and we definitely felt this was the best choice. The main snorkelling area was just outside of our garden, which was much more private than with other types of villas. We were very happy with room 103 and would highly recommend this.
We didn't do the sunset cruise as it was too windy, but the boat they were using for this looked a bit basic.
loved the fact it only had 32 rooms yet 5 restaurants! the food was incredible so was the house reef we averaged 3 turtles a day plus reef sharks and amazing reef fish in abundance. loved the fact the hotel lent us a go pro for snorkelling it meant we took some awesome videos of reef sharks and turtles etc.
if I was being really picky the water villa rooms and terrace were poorly furnished didn’t reflect the cost of the holiday or the 5 stars the rest of the hotel deserves. the bathrooms however were lovely all glass looking out over the ocean.
Exceptional
Location, quiet and beautiful great for snorkeling
We stayed in a Villa Duplex and it's great, the views from upstairs are amazing and the outdoor bathroom is the best I've seen so far.Food is really tasty and there is a big variety, especially for dinner. Also breakfasts and lunches at Market are great. Maybe the way they cook fish in Sea Grill could be improved, but it's just a personal opinion.Cocktails are also well crafted and there's also a good variety. We were in the All Included Package and I think that is worth doing it if you like drinking wine and making some cocktails, otherwise I would do A La Carte Dining Plan.Service is great, they are always there to help you! Snorkeling it's also a highlight, we saw lots of turtles and also small sharks despite due the rough sea we just explored a small part of the reef. Tons of colorful fishes also!It was a pity that the weather was a disaster (14 - 18 october); cloudy all the day, raining several times per day and heavy wind. Hope that next visitors will be luckier!
Nice small cosy island. Best service you could imagine! The staff was very friendly, helpful, read our wishes from our eyes and very humorous - a special thank goes to the Balinese/indonesian kitchen crew. Vegan is not a problem at all - thanks!
Resort was small and intimate.Generally excellent food all round, spectacular fresh fish at dinner, and great tacos for lunch.Wonderful house reef with turtles galore, the best we've seen in the Maldives.
Amazing! Highly recommended. Beautiful small island, impeccable service, amazing food, excellent cocktails. It was a dream vacation, we enjoyed every minute.
Fantastic small island and hotel ! One of the best house reef we have seen in Maldives (some said: fish soup ... I’d say also turtle and shark soup :)). Great privacy and comfort in water pool villas. Surprisingly wide choice of restaurants for such a small island. Great food !!! Exceptional seafood in teppanyaki live cooking tiny restaurant. Incredible all inclusive option with a lot of different wines and other alcohols in your villa.
Is one of the best place I visit in my life , looks like a paradise . The stuff is super nice and efficient , the food is really good , a lot of varieties. The room was unbelievable, is was a dream . Super clean , the stuff come often to clean the room . I didn’t want to leave ..
It was perfect .
There were so many things we liked about this place and we def want to come back and recommend it to our friends and family. We ourselves went there on the back of friend’s recommendation.1. The staff were very friendly, engaging, professional and kind. They knew our names which made it feel personal. I was also 6 months pregnant and everybody remembered by dietary requirements which I found incredibly thoughtful. They also picked up on our habits and were able to make very good food recommendations + guess what we wanted for breakfast. Just made it feel again very personal.2. It’s a small resort - only 30 rooms and a small island (you can kayak around it in 25mins) - it has a boutique style to it and you almost never run into other guests on the beach which makes it feel private - we loved that. 3. There was a doctor on the island that made me feel more comfortable given I was pregnant4. The food was incredible - we loved every bit of it. There was enough diversity to not get bored with what’s on offer during our 10 day stay. What we also really liked was that they were able to accommodate portion sizes ie I wanted a main as a started or vice versa or the sushi had to be divided into what’s eatable for me vs my partner - this also means that less food went to waste because we ate everything that was on our plates. Some hotels cannot be bothered to make the effort, they prefer to throw out food, and we really like this more conscious approach.5. We liked that the GoPro, snorkeling gear and kayaks were available free of charge - it was so much fun and the GoPro footage is a lovely memory for us. 6. The wild life around the island is insane - there are so many beautiful and colourful fish everywhere, a ton of turtles, we even saw a sting ray and reef sharks - you can see the sea life basically living right at your doorstep7. I also had a few SPA treatments and they all accommodated for my pregnancy which made me feel very comfortable
Everything was perfect
