Nika Island Resort & Spa, Maldives

The family beach villa was spacious and the snorkeling straight off our private beach was a highlight. The activities were also well organized and dive centre was helpful in organising an amazing diving experience. All the staff were so friendly and accommodating, we had such a wonderful stay, I highly recommend Nika.

Serene resort, adult friendly.Friendly, knowledgeable stuff. Sustainability is important to them. Tasty food, including fruits and vegetables, is grown on island. Healthy coral reefs with variety of sea life, sharks, rays, turtels.

The excursions offered felt overpriced.

Amazing accommodating staff. Each beach villa has its own private beach!! An experience not available in most of the resorts in Maldives. The villa has universal power outlets. We came on a early morning flight and the staff at the airport immediately guided us to the seaplane. We reach the resort pretty early around 7:00 a.m.. The staff greeted us warmly. And we were given early check-in as luckily they were available rooms at that time. But it was very courteous of them. The resort is a small one but exactly what we wanted. An experience of living with our own private beach which we could have all to ourselves! There may not be too many activities but we knew that already. Just experience in itself of the unique rooms in the resort with private beaches is amazing and we did not see in other resorts before. The villas are separated by trees and plants which are dense enough to give the freedom and privacy that we wanted. We were supposed to go to another resort and Nika staff arrange everything for us and coordinated with the other resort. They even gave us late check out luckily because of availability. The resort is very accommodating to the needs of the guests. We would specifically want to thank Mr Hussain at reception, our room boy Mr Anees and personal waiter Mr Nadheem.We stayed here for 3 days. Just wish we had stayed another day or two

Food variety could be better. But for value for money it's worth every penny

We had an amazing time. The atmosphere was perfect for relaxation, the food was absolutely delicious, and the staff were welcoming and friendly and always ready to help. They even accepted my suggestion to start offering early-morning yoga sessions, which I really appreciated.

The only minor downsides were finding two wall geckos in our water villa (which makes me think the roof might not be sealed in a few spots) and the Wi-Fi not covering some areas in the island or in the restaurant and the water in the restaurant not free if not in the buffet.Other than that, everything was fantastic, and I’d definitely come back again. Highly recommended!

Private beach, spacious room, cleanliness and staff especially chefs

They made up nonsense Nika Time thing. When you step onto island, time goes 2 hours forward from Male time, which doesn’t make sense because you flew just 25 min seaplane just 50 miles even west of Male.Dinner starts 9 pm which is too late. Breakfast starts 9 am and both only takes 1 hour 30 minutes.The pressure to pay the bill. We had time window to pay the bill. not during check out. If you have something after pay the bill you can pay during check out. And why I paid it before then if I could do it during check out???

Obviously the location.The island itself is nice and the beach as well.

First, everything is extra.We had rented the one of most expensive family room and despite this, everything was extra.Being used to 4&5 star hotels, I have never seen this before In addition, the teams are really too aggressive commercially speaking. Trying to constantly sell you excursions and massages. Even interrupting your dinner.For a so-called luxury hotel, we had a water leak in the ceiling and the safe had to be changed twice because it did not work.Concerning the beach, the sunbeds always remain outside despite the rain, which prevents you from using them because they are too wet and humid the day after.Despite the bar next to the beach, there is no service or beach attendant.you must go to the bar if you want to order.We had our return flight scheduled for 4:15pm with a check-out at 12pm, we asked for the possibility of a late check-out, which was not possible, however, we were moved to a 2-star category room which we were charged $60 excluding tax for only 2 hours of occupancy

Small privat beach at deluxxe beach villa realy give you feeling of your own small paradise in the midle of indian ocean. Clean and comfortable space and egzotic sound of silence inside and outside, with moustly inisible but always smilenig staf in atmosphere of small green tropical haven make you feel very peacefull and relaxed. Last but not least Nika time is exscelemt idea which give you oportunity to enjoi all 12 hours of daylight on Maldives.

In such resort as Nika is Water must be free of charge. Ofer of Salads is not so reach And tomato should be availible at dinner.

The staff were super kind and helpful, making us feel welcome and valued.The two bars were very lovely. The rooms were spacious and beautifully designed and the entire property was kept clean and tidy.Gorgeous spots to scuba dive as well as for snorkeling including the house reefs.The cooks made sure we were well served as vegans (even making special ice cream for us) which we really appreciated greatly.We were very pleased to learn about their efforts to be sustainable. They really do everything possible in that direction.

It would be super helpful if there were tags next to each food item at the buffet, stating what’s in it for people with restrictions, like dairy, nuts, meat, gluten, etc.

Friendly staff and beautiful quiet island

There is no sound proof in room and it’s very quiet beach with no activity at all in the resort or music on the beach plus the food wasn’t that great.

Nika was wonderful! We extended our stay for a total of 10 days. Anna, our guest relations manager was helpful and attentive! The rest of the hotel team was also amazing! It's an Italian hotel so the food was good.

Lack of pork meat variety :)

Amazing place, amazing people, unexpected great Italian food in the middle of Indian ocean! Very friendly stuff without any exceptions: room-boys, chefs in the restaurant , SPA center ladies, GRO (Anna, Luka hello)), sea-guides (Ali, thanks for your kindness and videos!) and especially owners - lovely Giovanna and her brother. Thank you guys for warm feeling like at home between family members! Very clean and green-blooming territory , island looks like a garden with eco friendly and plastic free mood. Beach villas of interesting design have private beaches, comfortable beds and charismatic Maldivian atmosphere. Would love to have longer holidays staying there or come back once again!

No way to walk around the island on seaside (beach villas territory), good snorkeling is just at one side of the island.

It was a great experience. We was with 2 baby girls under 2 years. The staff was helpful- Anna guest relations was always in touch with us and help us with all administrative questions. We even spoke with one of owners Giovanna she was kind with us and very nice. We lived in water villa and it was amazing. The coral reef was perfect we even saw the manta near our villa. All island Nika is beautiful green , and very clean. We will be back with the pleasure. Thank you

Surrounded by a lively and beautiful reef, offering great service, food, spa and unforgettable excursion trips(manta, turtle and whale shark snorkelling, etc )Nika was the best choice we could make in Maldives. Hard to find another resort that provides fresh smelling towels at all times :) We’ve extended our stay for 4 more days and experienced both beach villa and water villa.. Both were breathtaking. Already looking forward to our next stay

The reefs around the beach had good marine life. Saw the occasional black tip sharks and travelly. Nursesharks come to the bar side waters at night.

Very pricey. Not much food variety for breakfast, esp. Timber roof structure decaying dropping fine amounts of wood chips regularly into centre of bed

Many things missing. Can't score 5 star at all. 1. Very Very poor food options pizza and spaghetti ?2. Everything snorkeling set, any drinks( Inc water) every extra move is chargeable even had full board 3. Washroom so small. no designated proper shower area once if u open shower whole place gets wet.3. To commercial hotel. Long things to short, If u are looking for great stay and reading reviews keep in mind☝️, all bad reviews under exist till now in hotel!!!

The island has excellent bars, gym, spa and facilities, the food is absolutely top notch. The staff could not be more helpful and lovely - we were assigned a waiter for our table - Mubashir - he went above and beyond to make the trip so perfect. He even set up our table on the beach with romantic candlelight under the palm tree for our 1 week anniversary of being married - what an absolute legend that guy is. All the staff are this lovely. Mr Mubashir also has several pet tropical birds on the island which are beautiful and hilariously chatty - wolf whistling and meowing whilst you eat - brilliant! The diving school is awesome, and the instructors are also marine biologists & passionate about ocean conservation. They offer a wide variety of diving and snorkeling activities. There is an island shop where they make clothes, bags and other unique gifts. The whole islands eco-plastic free ethos is strictly observed everywhere which is admirable. All water is in glass bottles which are refilled. The cocktails are fabulous. The various trips and spa treatments are offered by the staff at mealtimes - they check in with each guest and confirm you want to go ahead with your trip/treatment or make sure you know what's on offer so you don't miss an opportunity whilst you're on the island. Every evening the bar is surrounded by nurse sharks who come and bask in the shallow waters, and if you're luck there will also be a stingray there. The house reef is incredible - the work going in to preservation is very obvious due to the prolific sea life living there. There are black tip reef sharks, nurse sharks, octopi, and a really amazing variety of beautiful wildlife to see. We saw a pod of dolphins on our way to do an open water dive, what an amazing place to visit!

only have good food

The management is very bad, when booking there is a swimming pool but you can't use it, you can't swim in the ocean because there are many sharks in the hotel area, the hotel management provides sharks in food (I think to catch them) and they don't care about the guest in the hoteland and my family was afraid from sharks and boring,They also take a double price for sea flights, a 25-minute flight is $500

The island was beautiful, snorkeling was amazing, and the staff were incredibly friendly. Our water villa had great views and waking up to swim right off our dock every morning was unforgettable.

The first week was plated dinners, which switched to a buffet on the second week. The food was still great, but having a menu to choose from and table-side service felt special.
