Other guests reviews were true.They said if you book directly, breakfast is included, but not by Booking.com.According what I had in the room, I am happy not to have breakfast there...anyway.

Smell mold in the room, no toilet paper, no soap. I asked to get them after I checked in.

When we checked in the room, the smell there was super bad (coming from restroom and moldy walls). We asked the receptionist to change the room, and they kindly agree to do so. Next room did not have that smell, however the pillow cases were stained with blood and the bed sheets were stained yellow too. The room had mold, the restroom seemed outdated. The bed mattress was so uncomfortable, with some holes inside, and the bed itself was extremely squeaky (many times waking up turning around). It’s a cheap place, however for this money was expecting way more (at least some clean sheets).

A large, clean room with hot water and a decent breakfast. The best thing was the hospitality, especially the owner (I think her name is Tia) and her nephew, Bintang, who both spoke good English (a luxury in these parts ?). They were very helpful in organising onward transport and getting a scooter to hire (not as easy as I thought in Waikabubak).

We had room 6 at first, it had smelly pipes in the bathroom, covered with Febreze The lower part of the bed was lower than the rest of the bed, and we could hear the motor of the heater above our headsWe were offered to move to room 2 but the smell was the same and we could hear the traffic noise from the street much more so we stayed in room 6 The following day, we were able to move to room 8, where there was less noise, no bad smell, and a better bed. The toilet seat was broken though but they replaced it quickly Breakfast options are not great

This was good value for Sumba. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Everything worked in the room except the tv. The location was excellent with lots of interesting places within walking distance and some good nearby warungs.

Breakfast wasn't included in my package, however the homestay cooked very nice Nasi Goreng and Bakmi Goreng for me. The breakfasts included in the price included Nasi Goreng, but it was cooked and left to keep warm in a rice cooker, which tended to make it stodgy.

At a homestay you don't expect wonders and my room was basic but clean and tidy. What it lacked was any sort of bedside lighting. It had recessed ceiling lights which were a bit bright and you had to get out of bed to turn off.

Room was clean and comfortable. Homestay is located near the centre of Waikabubak.

Comfortable bed, good AC, hot water. Helpful female owner. Central but quiet location with balcony view. Breakfast is good.

Tia & her husband who run the guesthouse are delightful and so so helpful. It’s a struggle to rent motorbikes so don’t just turn up thinking you can wizz off & explore.. they searched for a friend who was willing to rent one and I was so grateful. They also gave me so much help like running me to the ATM when my card didn’t work in the one close by, offering to make a packed lunch for my day exploring, giving me their WhatsApp in case I ran into any trouble. It became a home away from home & I can’t wait to return

There was nothing I ‘didn’t like’ but just be aware it’s basic, but at the same time the cost reflects this :). At some point in the future it would be amazing to see them able to give it a refit & spruce up but at the same time it’s very comfortable despite being basic

For the price it seemed unusual not to have breakfast included. The owner was very friendly and knowledgeable, but the staff were less so…

Everything was great, nice and cozy, comfortable room.

As everything in Sumba (no idea why) it's fairly expensive.

Not much to be liked. It's not bad, but really low standard. OK for backpackers.

Last resort if other hotels are booked in the area.
