Sapphire Waters Motor Inn

It was quiet and in a good location.

We had a family room on the lower ground floor near the pool and in the evening and very early in the morning we could hear ‘thuds’ from the floor above us including toilet flushing and running water. Also there were no powers points near the two single beds.

Very clean and spacious. Prime location close to most restaurants and shops.

I loved the twin room where the single bed was the opposite side of bathroom from main bed, (which was good for people who snore). Room was spacious. Could open balcony door and it had a screen door to keep flies and mossies out

Parking was difficult when the motel was full. Had to park quite a distance from room as spaces were not room designated.

This is a really pleasant hotel, of the type that were typical of the nicer class of motels in the 1980s and 90s. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the balconies have excellent views of the lake. It is situated close to shops and restaurants. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Coffee and tea making facilities, a toaster and a microwave make it ideal for a longer stay. The price is very reasonable indeed by today's standards. (I first stayed here in the early 1990s when it was considered one of the best motels in Merimbula, and I think it retains its original charm.)

The reception on the television could sometimes be a little shaky - but this may be a regional problem.

Our stay at Sapphire waters was great! The hosts were friendly and accomodating, even recommending a local breakfast spot that was amazing to fuel the rest of our road trip. The location, parking and facilities were also great, the whole space was great value for money.

Very well located in the centre of Merimbula and a short walk to various restaurants and shops. The facilities were clean and our room was spacious.

Very minimalist supplies in the kitchen, eg only 2 spoons.

The room itself was clean enough.

The sound insulation was terrible. When the toilet/shower was being used by the room next door you could hear the plumbing in the room. The morning I returned the key, I didn’t realise there was a box. I wasn’t told this when I checked in. After pressing the bell at 7am, one of the owner came out over the balcony on the 2nd floor barking at me that there was a key box.

Room was compact but adequate, although bathroom layout annoying as had to close door every time you needed to use the sink (which also had to be used for washing up dishes but was a bit small for). Overall clean & comfortable, perfectly acceptable for a nights stopover.Not sure the car parking spaces are equal to the number of rooms, but you can park on the road.

I didn’t realise until writing the review that I’d booked a Ground Floor Suite, but was actually given an upstairs one, Didn’t bother me (and probably had a better view anyway), but you should get what you actually booked. Wi-fi signal very poor and kept disconnecting. Fridge was very noisy and got quite annoying after a while.

Stayed a few times here, location is great, facilities are good, great shower, unfortunately the bed was not so comfortable this time. Other than that, it was good.

Staff let us check in early as we had left a bush fire town early in the morning to ensure we could get out. Beds were comfy and the room was clean and tidy.

Handy location just off coast road and for access to Merimbula and facilities. Room was well enough specified for a short stay. Receptionist was very friendly and good fun. A relaxed over night stay

Limited kitchenette facilities but no big issue. Not overly modern but very functional. Plug sockets by bed would be useful
