Toyoko Inn Maibara-Eki Shinkansen Nishi-Guchi

It was a new property and near to station.

The breakfast was with very less varieties.

The staff were very polite and attentive upon my arrival at the hotel. It was around 1 a.m., and a staff member welcomed me with a warm, smiling greeting. I don’t recall her name, but her kindness made a positive impression.The breakfast is complimentary for all guests; I did not have an opportunity to try it, so I can’t comment on the experience.

The room is compact, but suitable for one person. The amenities are basic

It was supposed to be a queen bed when we booked but when we checked in they said they only have double bed available. It made the stay less comfortable and not worth the price paid.

Location very close to train line and food shopping.

A bit far away from any major city.

Location is just amazing. If you have JR pass, you can travel to Kyoto in 20 minutes.

Breakfast could have a few continental items for foreign travelers. It was very traditional on both the days.

Breakfast is totally Japanese.. Could not provide spoon or Fork even after request. No Sugar No Milk except during breakfast

Free breakfast, everyday the nagrini rice balls are different and fresh made.

The room is small and only option is queen bed.

The check-in process was very easy.The bed and pillows were very comfortable.I requested an extra pillow which allowed me to have a great sleep - thank you.

There were no issues this time. It was 100% better than the last time I stayed there.

Opposite to Maibara station so very convenient, and walking distance to some restaurants and supermarkets

The beds and pillows were quite firm however this is a personal preference

For a Business Hotel, it's great. It has everything you need. Staff are helpful. Stay included a nice breakfast. Conveniently located right next to the train station, which does local and shinkansen trains. Not necessarily a downside for the hotel itself, but Maibara itself doesn't have a lot going on. I essentially just used this place as a place to sleep and it was more than comfortable enough for that purpose.

Breakfast was simple but nice and the staff were very friendly. Everything was in good condition and it was probably the best business hotel we've ever stayed in. Nice to have a car park on site, too.

Was surprised to have to pay 500 yen to use the car park. As for breakfast, it would have been nice to have some black tea, since I need caffeine in the morning but can't drink coffee, as well as some butter for the toast, but not a huge deal, either.

Japanese breakfast was simple but very nice and is included for free. There were options of many onigiri, three or four soups, bread, juice, tea and coffee. The hotel was very close to the Maibara station so I could use the local train to reach Hikone, Nagahama and Omihachiman. Also the shinkansen stops there which is handy for ongoing travel. The room was quiet even though it was so close to the station. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel is close to Mibara station, it is very convenince for us to travel to any place. In our case we had planed to go to Gransnow Okuibuki, we stayed at Toyoko hotel, then in the next morning we use shutter bus travelling to Gransnow. We had a very good time at Gransnow.

Breakfast was good. Room was a bit small but otherwise fine. Very helpful and friendly staff. Location next to the train station was very convenient.

Room was a bit of a squeeze— perhaps the bed could have been a bit smaller to give a bit more floor space.

I was doing the Biwaichi cycle, so this hotel was in a perfect location, right next to a cycle rental place and the cycle route. They also let me keep my bag there while I went on the cycle. It's also right next to the Maibara station,.so good connections for shinkansen to Kyoto/Osaka etc. I loved that the breakfast buffet was included. Nice clean room with a fridge and a decent sized bathroom compared to other business hotels.
