Green Hotel Yes Nagahama Minatokan

Just 5 mins walk from station.Easy access to site seeing spots nearby.10 mins to Nagahama Castle, 5 mins to Nagahama harbour that take ferry to Chikubushima.Welcoming and helpful staff.Nice room with welcoming drinks, free amenities, public bath and very nice view of Biwako.

Front door close from 12am - 5am for security reasons but very safe.

The breakfast was pretty good, and the facilities were nice. The cleaning and room resources were also pretty fair.

There were no staff able to speak English, although they were very attentive.

The property had superb facilities and great amenities. Breakfast was also great and had a good selection. The staff in particular were very helpful - even though they did not speak English, they were very eager to communicate through other means (like google translate).

I missed having butter to spread on my toast, but I had other options as well so really not a big deal.

Staff are kind. The public bath for the ladies is safe, because there's a passcode to enter the facility. There's welcome drinks for the guests, too. You can also get as much amenities, as you please. There are many sightseeing spots nearby.

Convenience store is a bit far, so better buy things before going to the hotel. (Note: I came with a child, so walking took more time than usual. )

The location, the public bath, the rooms, the price

Our room was right next to a busy road, so I was worried about the noise, but it turned out that the windows must be extra think, because we hardly heard any noise at all.

The outside bath was very nice, the room was big, it was perfect with a small baby!

The key system doesn't feel secure (having to announce one's full name at the lobby full of people). The walls and carpet were old, marked and could do with a refresh. Pq

The town is a really nice little spot. The hotel is only a few minutes from the station and Lake Biwa. Staff are very polite and helpful. The rooms are reasonably sized for a couple. There is a nice public bath on the second floor for evening use.

The rooms are a little older. Be sure to get bath stuff when you get off on your floor and remember that the light is controlled by remote con. The bathroom itself is a little cramped.

Perfect location, near Nagahama station and castle.Amenities are very clean, and the room is very comfortable.We had a wonderful view of the castle and the lake from the room!

They provide very little shampoo, body soap and conditioner. Everything else was good :)

I liked the onsen they had. There weren’t not many people staying at the day so I had onsen all to myself. It was very clean and location was good.

The hot bath was big and nice. Breakfast was very good as well. Staffs are helpful even though they speak little English.

The second night was a bit rough for our sleep because the AC run so loud. But the receptionist explained because of the strong wind due to typhoon. We couldn’t sleep the whole night.

Thee staff are exceptional. It is conveniently located near the station. The beds and pillows are extremely comfortable.

I think the price is a little expensive for the area based on facilities and location.

The outdoor bath was very nice and relaxing. They let me borrow a bike for free, which wasn't a great bike but very convenient.

The room wasn't very sound proof. We could here other guests quite loudly outside our room. Especially early evening.Our room had a faint smell of smoke.

Across from the ferry terminal to take the sakura cruise in spring. Right next to the hotel entrance is a very good (but affordable) yakitori restaurant that is open till late.

If u are a light sleeper, u might be woken up by people talking as they walk down the corridor. Also, the fridge in the room makes a noise at regular intervals (but u can turn it off). Decor is a little dated (but the room has everything u need).

Amazing location. I stayed in room 716 and the video from the room is fantastic- waking up in the morning and able to see Mt. Ibuki and a quaint river with fishing boats. The public onsen was spacious and clean. I was able to relax and get a moment of unwinding. There are two restaurants right next to the hotel which you can call and place an order for for takeout directly from your room (you do have to go pick it up yourself downstairs) but both restaurants are super tasty. Free rental bikes at the reception (better than the rental bikes at the Nagahama station). Great staff, free beverages at the entrance.

The cups in the rooms are paper cups with individual plastic wrapping. I understand it’s for sanitary reasons but I thought it was very wasteful.

Fantastic location for sight seeing - was able to see snowy mountain from my room and the neighboring river with fishing boats. The room was quite spacious and there were on-site restaurants so it was very convenient. Only a 5min walk from the station but very quiet area. Super close to convenience stores so easy to go for a quick coffee run. Great selection of local sights' coupons at the front desk, as well as night light-up festivals tour plan. I loved that I could call the on-site restaurant for room service (although you have to go downstairs to pick it up) - they would call your room number when the food was ready, so you could get warm food without having to sit in a restaurant.

Unfortunately the spa and onsen were closed due to COVID - which I was really looking forward to. Not the hotel's fault though - they are just being responsible =)
