Hotel Route Inn Hikone

Comfortable room, plenty of parking which makes this a good base for making day trips in the area. Nice public bath with a hot water temperature (44 degrees each time I went). Staff very helpful. The room has all facilities. Excellent pricing.

Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable room with big window. The public bath is real bonus.

It’s not the best location if you’re on foot.

The meals were really delicious and the staff went way beyond… l highly recommend this Hotel and l will be back to stay there next year

Onsen style bath was small. Rooms decor was very bad. Only one pillow.

The staff were very friendly and the room was very clean. There were a number of restaurants nearby and the area was very quiet. The breakfast was excellent, and included with the very reasonable price.

It's an older hotel so there were some minor scratches, but it was very clean.

Clean, good amount of space for 2 in the twin room. Small but great spa/bath. TV and vending machines were modern and nice. Staff was very patient and accommodating and always at counter. Baggage hold available but no lockers. Food options are available all around about 5 to 10 min walk. Also less than an hour walk to Hikone castle. About 40 minutes.

Far from main street or any big stores. There are some places about 15 to 20 minutes walk though.

The hotel eventhough budget hotel it fullfil all the needs. The room clean eventhough small, but still have space for me and my daughter. I have book 2 rooms for family of 4. The breakfast is suffiecient and typical asian/japanese food. The staff is not fluent in english but they try their best to help

Breakfast is good. But location is a bit far from the station. Shuttle bus is convenient to/from the station, so it's not a problem except finding the dinner place near the hotel.

Only the location to eat dinner near the hotel late at night.(late check-in)

Guest room, communal bath, buffet breakfast - all good as usual.

This Hotel was great value for money - Breakfast was included and it was better than expected for essentially a stop - over , business Hotel . Rooms were a bit small but beds were great and pillows OK . As expected , staff didn't speak much English but we got through, they were helpful in getting taxis etc . The weather was awful , cold and rainy but we enjoyed visiting Hikone Castle and Nagahama town - stayed 3 nights . Restaurant in the Hotel served quite good food at very reasonable prices in the evening. Loved the Vending Machines in the Hotel .

Laundry machine in the Ladies Onsen had broken down so my wife and daughter trekked out to do the laundry - definitely it would be a big improvement to just have a Laundry Room for all with several machines.

The beds were a bit hard

99% of the staff does not speak English but all are very friendly and try to help. The public bath was nice. Free breakfast was awesome. You can rent bikes to explore Hikone (there are only 2 though, and sometimes get used). Parking is free. The ramen restaurant near the hotel was excellent and there are 24 hour fast food options close by, and a 7/11. The room was pretty comfortable. Price was nice. They have a shuttle as well.

Extremely slow WiFI and not reliable. Location is pretty far from Hikone Castle. If wanting to explore Hikone, there are better hotel locations. If you have a car, this is quite a good location.

Overall nice staff and good facilities. Room was comfortable. Buffet breakfast was awesome with Japanese, Chinese and European selections.

Wi-fi signal was poor in the room. Maybe because it was on the 10th floor. However it should not be like that. The hotel staff was also a bit late in responding to my questions on whether there is a shuttle service and if there were vegetarian/vegan options in their breakfast menu.
