Vela Phu Quoc Resort

Room and bathroom were adequate size and most of staff was friendly. Free breakfast was convenient although it was not anything amazing.

Beds were very hard, like we were sleeping directly on box springs. At the end of our stay (while trying to leave to make it to the airport on time) we were accused of stealing the beach towels that had been taken by housekeeping and not replaced.

King size bed, working AC, location is not the best but you can manage easily with Grab, Scooter, breakfast. I noticed the staff - hard working people, especially at the breakfast!

Cleaning done once in 4 days, I agree with this but towels should be changed daily or at two days max.. Shower water is so hot that it burns you and shower pressure is very low, takes a lot of time to wash long hair. Would be nice to have more options for the drinks at the breakfast, even of it would mean a moderate increase of room price (orange, ananas).I did not use the sunbeds or the pool, but there is no rule, early in the morning they were "booked" in advance with towels and I noticed many times that during the day they were only partly used but "booked", some rules would be nice to give equal chances to all.

Smoking everywhere-outside the rooms so it came in your room, at the pool. Made me feel sick and not breathe fully.Breakfast very unsatisfying-I gave info about allergies ahead of time and no options were available aside from eggs, fruit and pancakes. Tomato and cucumber gave me diarrhea the first day. Mattresses are very hard. I’ve slept elsewhere in Vietnam but these mattresses were making my back sore.Airport transfer arranged overpriced. I should have arranged my own taxi or Grab.

The staff was excellent, especially the two ladies at reception, who could not have been more helpful and happy?

There was some construction work being done but it was low season so I guess probably the best time to do it.

We had such a great time at Vela Resort! Nice room , beds were comfy , and it’s just a 2-minute walk to the beach. There are restaurants and little shops close by too, which made everything really convenient. Breakfast was tasty every morning, and the whole vibe was just super chill and welcoming. Huge thanks to Yen, Mi Yan, Nhung, Hân and all the amazing staff—you guys made us feel like family. You’re doing an awesome job, and we can’t wait to come back!

The gym is not adequate. Not enough apparatuses and some did not work. Needs upgrading. Also, some of poolside loungers broken.

Room was as described and a great value. We enjoyed the plentiful breakfasts, kind staff and large rooms. The location is a short walk to the beach.

The hotel territory is very nice, green and full of flowers. My 4 y.o. daughter loved the pool! It was open till 9 p.m. or even later on, which, as I heard from other tourists, is rare on Phi Quoc.We also appreciated the proximity to the beach, restaurants and grocery sellers.We are vegan and still there usually was at least 1 hot vegan dish for breakfast, which we didn't expect at all.The room interior is generally fine for the money we paid. People from previous reviews mentioned noise from a reconstruction site nearby. Maybe we were lucky, the reconstruction next to out hotel seemed to be unfinished but we didn't see any workers there. Please note that in the old building room with a balcony the bathroom had a classical Asian setup with no curtains or shower cabin. My brother stayed in another building and had a shower cabin and in general a newer room by the look at it. But I enjoyed the pool view from the older building.

In our family room running water was unstable and weak at some parts of the day, but it was tolerable.I really missed a variety of veggies and greens for breakfast, but that's me with my vegan eating habits. You van bring your own groceries if the options for breakfast are not enough.

It is close to the beach, though in Nature. Some small shops here and there are within a 5-minute walk and are very handy for buying small daily items, snacks, and meals.

Perfect location near a beautiful quiet beach, local shops and restaurants. The gardens and pool were beautiful and well kept. The room was very comfortable with a huge bed. Excellent and varied breakfast.

The breakfast organization was a little chaotic and not a relaxing experience. Having to return our own dishes and scrape into a waste bin was unpleasant and not what I expect to do in a resort hotel. Perhaps a shortage of staff?

Very nice resort with a lot of green, very nice breakfast with lots of options. Nice rooms and close to the beach.

Absolutely loved our stay here! The beds were super comfortable, and the location was perfect: peaceful during the day and at night, so we slept incredibly well. Yet, there’s plenty of life in the evenings with amazing restaurants just steps away. Plus, the beach is right there! The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming—we stayed so long that they started to feel like family :) Breakfast was a treat every morning, always fresh and with something new to try. Thank you for making our stay truly unforgettable!

Staff are very friendly. There was drain / sewage smell in my bathroom, when I reported it, they fixed it as soon as they could. Thank you.

Great shower. Comfortable beds. Quiet location. Breakfast was good. Great location to walk to some local restaurants and the beach as well as an easy walk to the main road to catch the local ‘green’ bus to explore further afield.

The pool area was ok, I think they were upgrading the gardens during our stay, so maybe improved by now.

I liked my stay a lot: the room was nice, the bed comfortable, the breakfast was good… It was few minutes walk to the beach… Many restaurants around…

I would like to have more European sports channels on TV. I was alone in the room so it was ok but hot water was enough in the shower for maybe 6-7 minutes. Two people would be unhappy with that, I’m sure.Coffee for breakfast was not really good: not hot enough and the taste didn’t make Vietnam proud. But I was happy with my tea…
