confusion with booking and number of beds. the ac in the room was dirty upon arrival and lacked cool air.

Breakfast was plentiful, Room size and view from the room was excellent. The location of the beach was greatwith sufficient cots, and clean sandy beach

Location was to restaurants was good, beach location was great.

Service was acceptable, not to the high standard I experienced throughout Vietnam. All properties around us celebrated with a New Year’s Eve party event. Nothing at Tropicana, minor disappointment.

Of the 3 bungalows we booked, one (Unit G06) had rats in the ceiling void, their constant scratching and romping at night making it impossible to sleep. We have reason to believe that at least one other bungalow has the same problem. The resort management only arranged to change this room on Day 4, our daily complaints on the first three days being largely ignored . And this change of rooms only happened after seeking the intervention of Customer Service at Booking.com on Day 3.And, tellingly, no compensation was offered for subjecting our daughter and granddaughter to three sleepless nights, which should give intending guests a good idea of the Resort’s attitude to reasonable and fair customer service.Moreover, Tropicana’s room rates are comparable to other much nicer Resorts in the area , and definitely not priced to reflect these and other deficiencies.The other deficiencies include: 1. A limited and unimpressive breakfast buffet compared with comparable resorts. 2. Only the barest necessities by way of amenities in the rooms - just a small cake of soap, no hand towels, no drinking glasses and an empty frost-bound bar fridge and two small bottles of water. If you want the missing items, you have to ask for them at reception.Clearly, the management don’t care much about these deficiencies as the Resort seems to be able to fill its rooms without addressing them.Can recommend other Resorts nearby that we have stayed at, including Thanh Kieu and La Hana.

Everything was perfect

Air condition was not working good , when i ask the staff to repair they said they cant because all ac like this, but at the same time i have booked totally booked 4 rooms the other 3 rooms so cold except my room

A nice bungalow on the beach during off peak season was just what the doctor ordered. Spent a week here just chilling. A few decent restaurants on the same street, a decent beach in front of my bungalow. No license required for the cheap scooter rental out front. I saw reviewers complaining about the breakfast, but it was definitely ok. And if you ask they’ll make you fresh eggs or omelette. It’s def more chill, no one who works there is going to bother you….or offer any extra help or assistance or information. I like being left to my own devices but if you want the staff to really show up for you, they don’t. But then again, it’s off peak season so maybe that means it’s time to chill.

I didn’t dislike anything. Again, the staff is chill. They won’t offer any information or help unless you bug them for it (I didn’t need help). Knowing that the beach was covered in jellyfish would have been handy, and lucky I figured it out on my own. But man, no one mentioned “hey guest, watch out for the murder bugs in the ocean 20ft from your room”. It’s a big old but who cares? I got a cheap bungalow for a week for cheap, so I can handle old.

Clean big room, nice balcony and breakfast was fair. The pool was clean and the location to the beach and some fine restaurants was good.

The chairs on the balcony were too uncomfortable to sit. They need to be redesigned. The breakfast could have been excellent but usually the buffet food was cold instead of hot. The fruits and the eggs were very good.

Located next to many restaurants on the Main Street. Rooms were clean.

Property is looking tired and in need maintenance to improve its appearance and functionality. Pool cleanliness needs more attention and air conditioning wasn’t very cool at its lowest and made a lot of noise.

Great location right on the beach. Was disappointed with our room as I thought I’d booked a villa on the beach. Instead we were in the main building. Great beach massage. Lots of restaurants close by.

Pool was disappointing. Looked great from a distance but really wasn’t clean. General facilities were dated. Our bathroom was very dark.Beach bar extremely limited.

Our room did not have a smell, and felt clean with daily room service. That was a saving grace after being out and around town. I enjoyed the view from our balcony and we used it often AM and evenings. The pool was nice, however the quality of the water clarity changed daily?!!The property grounds are kept quite well. I liked the greenery and being off the beach a bit in main hotel building.We rented a scooter from just down the lane and the flexibility was great and fun.

The breakfast was OK, nice fresh fruits, and they will prepare eggs to order, and there was always meats, rices, and noodle soup. However my husband is vegan and I vegetarian, so the offerings were limited and we ended up eating breakfast out quite a bit. I wish the pool maintenance was done earlier in the AM. We were always down to the pool after breakfast and sometimes way into the AM to find the pool guy there vacuuming still.... The hotel beach area was quite small and really not enough loungers for their guests... solved that by visiting other resorts along the beach. There is a terrible smell coming from a water outlet right at the Tropicana beach property line. The same smell is prevalent all over town. Sewage? just nasty. All in all I found Phu Quoc dirty and having insurmountable trash issues.

One of our rooms was upgraded to a beach front bungalow and it was stunning. the view the size and comfort of the bed. There is also guys that do massages on the beach for ridiculously cheap price. Just few steps from the hotel there is few great restaurants and some corner shops that you can get your essentials at. On the main street there is plenty of shops and restaurants the nigh market is less than 30 min walk from the property. Breakfast is reasonable and there is good amount of choices.

Beach bar hours are a bit short and they open quite late but this is not a big deal as you can get a drink or 2 at a corner shop that is just few steps away.

There are far better and less expensive hotels on Phu Quoc

Everything about this hotel was mediocre. Breakfast was really disappointing, 50 meters up the road, better breakfast for half the price. The beach area was crowded and the sunbeds were taken early in the morning by guests putting down their towels. Lovely sunset, but the beachbar was understaffed and overpriced. Staff not very flexible, except for the gentleman that checked us in. No extra pillow, no extra key, no friendly smiles.

Our room was very dirty and tired, though it did have a brand new TV. (Know this because I finished taking the stickers off the screen - I guess no one had noticed somehow). We had another room in our booking which was nice and clean but the tv was old and faulty. Obviously tv isn’t why u visit a tropical island, but nice to have the option some nights. Our bungalow simply needed to be repainted and thoroughly revamped. Yessica the manager was very nice and would’ve moved us if they weren’t fully booked. The older chap at reception was very rude and dismissive when trying to communicate but yessica saved the day. It feels like the owners have just let it go a bit and not much finer care is given. It was a busy time though so I can only assume they are planning to fix these shortcomings after the holiday season. We were offered free breakfast for the dirty room. Also the staff member who works at the beach bar is a legend. The other younger chap at reception has a LOT to learn about working at a resort, but again we can only assume he’s new and inexperienced, and can only improve in time.

Food was just okay. Hotel was very unsure when I asked for an extra pillow. They told me no, then I kept asking and finally gave me one.

Great location, right on the beach and just a 2 minute talk to really good restaurants. Room was spacious and breakfast was very good too. We enjoyed our stay!
