- This is our favourite (and only) place to stay in Thong Nai Pan, KPG! The staff are really kind and friendly, the location is fantastic and the beach is probably one of the best on the entire island! The rooms are comfortable and spacious- our stay has been wonderful and we Will definitely be back here soon again! Thanks to the entire team at Pens Bungalows ??
- Right on quiet beach. Away from main village on the island. Good food in restaurant and very nice bungalows.
- The location is great. This was probably our favorite beach on the whole island.
Cons -
- There is nothing we did not like about our stay at Pens Bungalows
- Bed was little too soft for us (especially one for two people). If you want good sleep you should book rooms with single beds for each guest
- The on-demand hot water heater in our shower wasn’t working and they took three hours to replace it during which time we couldn’t be in our room use the toilet and change our clothes, etc. Also, there were quite a few mosquitoes in the room and a cockroach in the bed! There were also only seven loungers on the beach for the whole place to use and they were always full

The beach was amazing.Food was good.Location location location.
The room was simple and shower wasn't great. But there are nicer rooms
Pen's is a great little bungalow resort on Thong Nai Pan Yai beach. We stayed for a week and had a bungalow right on the beach with a beautiful tropical almond tree out front giving heaps of shade for people wanting to relax on the beach. The views were stunning and it was a very quick walk up the road where there are plenty of local places to eat and drink, lots of really good and cheap Thai food as well as some places that offered a more 'western' style. There are also plenty of bars and restaurants along the beach. It's a really chilled out area. The beach dogs were a highlight also for us, keeping people company on the beach, and joining us for walks sometimes. The resort also has a few gorgeous cats that they look after extremely well. The staff were very helpful, attending to any issues promptly and organising transport into town or to the pier. We had some good food at Pen's as well as at other places, especially Dolphin bungalows down the eastern/southern end which does excellent Som Tum and soups.
The forest style setting was beautiful. We loved the hammock outside and the decking area. We love how close it was to the beach. The decor was simple, rustic and had real character. A beautiful quieter corner of Koh Phangan. The cleaners did a great job cleaning. Shower was warm and there was decent pressure.
When we first arrived the doors to the bungalow were wide open which was unusual as normally it would make sense to close the doors and keep the flies out. The air conditioning system was permanently on (we couldn't get it to shut off) which was fine during the day but at night time I wore leggings and fluffy socks as it was super cold. The sink plug did not plug properly.
everything was perfect, the place, location, restaurant, the staff, nothing to add.. they have lots of big cats so you can tell there's a lovely energy!! i fell in love with the place. ?❤️???
The hotel is in a quiet location in a small village. It's far from the port, so it's a good idea to arrange a transfer from the hotel or take a private taxi.
We were hesitant as some of the reviews weren't great but Pen's is a great option on a beautiful stretch of beach. The rooms were clean, the pool was amazing and the food was as good as anywhere else in the area with great prices. Our favourite stay in our 3 week Thailand holiday.
The beach is stunning. Right next to the hotel, there's also a street with everything you need. The neighboring village had a nicer beach and village street, but it was just a short scooter ride away.
Very uncomfortable beds. Rooms in need of renovation. In the mornings, the cleaners are very loud and start early, and the roosters crow almost all night.
Nice bungalows, people at reception are kind. Food can be better but overall ok
Nice hotel. We rested for 6 nights. Almost all expectations have been fulfilled. There were almost no unpleasant surprises. The staff is helpful, even in the morning they warmed up the food they bought on 7/11 in the evening. They gave me water. We cleaned up every other day, but that's enough. There is a transfer to the pier, the price for two is 660 baht, but we were traveling alone in the car. The location is great, everything is within walking distance. It's not the first time we've vacationed on Ton Nai Pan Yai, so we knew where we were going. But we arrived when there was a cyclone, and Phangan was flooded with rain for 3 days. And therein lay the problem.
We lived in triple room 108. And every day, while it was raining, frogs were screaming behind the back wall of the house from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. It wasn't just a croak, it was a howl. This is the first time we've heard this in our lives. Therefore, during the rains, we do not recommend taking rooms 104 to 110.

The resort is exactly on the beach and the beach itself is very nice and big. We stayed at 3 different spots on the island and found that to be on of the best beaches overall and a great place to stay. Especially at night the beach is very cozy with many nice restaurants on it. The resort also has a nice pool with sea view and a restaurant on the beach. Right behind the hotel you can rent a motorbike.
The AC wasn’t working very well so it was always which is fine for the price and the great location on the beach, but the towels and sheets seemed a little used so it might be good to change them soon as that makes a big difference for the quality. You 100% need a motorbike to explore the island as taxis are extremely expensive and the hotel is a little far away from other cool spots on the island on the west coast. Still with motorbike it could be like a 30 minute ride to the other side.
Super close to the beach, nice holiday vibe, a swimming pool where you can sit til late. Everything was clean and neat. Fridge in the room, cups, shower accessories. Close to the restaurants and shop as well.
Location was good, beach is beautiful. Rooms clean and partly updated, new toilet. Good air conditioning, very, very good bed which is a bit rare in Thailand, 3 min walk to 711 and small village. Very good bacon and egg breakfast. Had options to visit walking street sat and sun night. Staff were good.
No beach loungers, have about 5 or 6 folding chairs only. Really large amount of day visitors to property, constant stream of people all day long, especially Sunday. They take all of the shady spots on the beach so there are many people all crammed together under the trees. Breakfast was good, dinner just ok. Had a Mojito that was very light on the rum, heavy on the lime, and no sweetness. Better options for food and drink in the area.
We had a room behind the swimming pool, but just a few steps and we were on the beach in a beautiful bay. I can understand why a lot of families choose to stay here because of the quiet location(no party scene) and you have to walk a while into the sea before it becomes deep. The room was simple, but had everything we needed. Good bed and the AC was great. We were pleased with the shuttle bus service to collect us from the boat, the driver was waiting for us on arrival. We found the older lady on reception Moo, to be very helpful, we always inquired after her before we got down to business! We rented a scooter from the hotel, which was great, but I found the hairpin bends on very steep roads to be quite hair raising! But it was a great way to see the other side of the island. There are plenty of nice places to eat on the beach, but the village is small and not a lot to do. I think next time I would stay on the other side of the island, although Thoh Nai Pang Yai has the most beautiful beach, I found the steep roads a bit of a problem, although everyone recommended renting a scooter! We only stayed 3 nights, but it would have been nicer to stay a night longer to enjoy the beach.
We didn’t use the facilities from the hotel, as it looked a bit messy, could do with some TLC. But friends were staying in a hotel further up the beach, and we ate with them at their hotel.
Pen’s is located in the most beautiful bay, frontline beach,it was basic, no frills, it did, however, give 1 litre of water per day and copious amounts of coffee. We tried food in the entire bay and Pen’s was without doubt 10/10! Very importantly, book the taxi from the Pier with the hotel its only THB 220 per person, we forgot and had to pay a rip off taxi THB1800!
Absolutely nothing to dislike!
Pen’s Bungalow is in a beautiful location. The people who own and run the property are so lovely and will help you with anything you need. The food is gorgeous and the rooms are clean enough. I will be definitely coming back and would highly recommend staying here.
We loved it nothing to complain about
Very kind and helpful staff. All accessories were replaced daily. The restaurant at the premises is very nice. The location is great for families, the beach is very calm and quiet but still close to some nice beach pubs.
Wasn't a problem for me but there were no TV in the room despite the information.
