Pros +
- The location was great. Everything is walking distance.
- This is the third year we spend at least 2 weeks at Rin Beach resort with my wife. Service, location, facilities, value — possibly the best resort-ish option you can get on Haad Rin for this price. Cocohut beach club is 5 mins and Lighthouse bungalows is just about 7 mins away on bike from there so you wont get bored. Lots of cafes around.
- Ok overall
Cons -
- The grounds are not well maintained, our bungalow had narrow steep steps leading to the top and no railing to catch you if you fell. One night we came home to an extremely large spider in our hotel. Hotel bed was made out of wood and doors have large gaps
- I booked a room for two people for almost three weeks (29.12.25–19.01.26). One day before the checkout date, I had to return to Bangkok earlier than planned, so I asked to leave the key at reception so my friend—who was the second guest on the booking—could collect it when he arrived. I was told this was fine. After that, I went to the hotel’s restaurant to eat. While I was waiting for my order, about 30 minutes later, a staff member came to my table with a phone call. The person on the phone identified himself as “the agency,” which had never been explained to me before and I had no prior knowledge of. He told me that because the booking was under my name, I was not allowed to leave the property.I tried to explain multiple times that the room was booked for two people, that only my details were initially provided, and that my friend was arriving and could provide his information as well. Unfortunately, no alternatives or solutions were offered. I was effectively forced to check out one day earlier than my paid checkout date (checked out on 18.01.26, despite having paid until 19.01.26).On top of this, my friend was asked to pay an additional 1,000 THB for the final night, even though it had already been paid for as part of the original booking.Throughout my entire stay, I treated the staff with respect and remained calm and polite during this situation as well. I simply asked for assistance or a reasonable solution, but unfortunately there was no willingness to listen or show flexibility. It is very disappointing that such a long stay ended this way, due to poor communication and handling of a simple situation.
- Had a few days when our room was’t restocked, so had to track down cleaning staff. Bed was very hard and had two beds slide together to make King size but it has a frame that stuck up in the middle. Pool shut down early evening at different times.

Friendly staff, large pool, good location, large room, beach.
Had a few days when our room was’t restocked, so had to track down cleaning staff. Bed was very hard and had two beds slide together to make King size but it has a frame that stuck up in the middle. Pool shut down early evening at different times.
The pool was great, and the little beach next to it. Some of the bungalows were clearly very nice (my friends stayed in one). Some of the staff were very nice.
My room was quite bare: no wardrobe, no kettle, no cup, and wifi was not working. Bed was hard as nails. It had no windows except to a balcony that basically was just opposite the window of another building (about a meter away). There was a lot of shouting and partying from the other guests. Change requests to my booking were just refused outright with no explanation or attempt to accommodate. My friends on the other hand had a lovely bungalow with less noise, a view of the sea, a tv, wardrobe, kettle, and wifi. I think the quality difference between rooms doesn't accurately reflect the price difference (about 10 pounds per day).
Location and staff very nice
The room smell a lot to humidity and mold. Mattress was extremely hard and pillows too high. We could not sleep well because of all this.
Great location for full moon party. Huge rooms, small private beach. Rooms are bungalows which gives extra independence.
I had a lot to walk to my room (it was the last one).
Excellent location and E was amazing helping us outWe extended our stay as Haad Rin was quiet and we loved it
Nada
Lovely pool and private beach.
The staff, especially the cheeky girl that runs around with her radio that checked us in, was very unprofessional and rude.I asked for extra pillows..it never came, the next day I reminded her for her to tell me there aren't any.I argued with her and eventually got another pillow. The mattress was absolutely shocking, and the springs were poking through. When I asked for duvets to put on the mattress as we had no shutt eye the night before, she had the cheak to tell me there is noting wrong with the mattress and other people sleep on it......she sent staff later with another duvet, the ladies saw what the problem was and as I showed them my back operation they all smiled and went to fetch 2 more duvets to put on the mattress without any hesitance. And tried to make the bed as comphy as they could. We had to use our suitcases for bedside tables.....no coat hangers or a rod even to hang your clothes on in the cupboard. It's a beautiful resort with so much potential but terribly run. The owner clearly has no interest as he was lying on the couch in the front office very often......It's a very sad story.....it's a place for youngsters that get drunk and pass out and don't feel the pain of a shocking mattress.....
Swimming pool is great location is great the place is very very special we enjoyed everything. There is a restaurant coffee place next to it with very tasty food because we didn't have breakfast.
It needs a little bit more light in the evening
Location
Uncooperative lady owner at the front desk , no room service or cleaning service until we walk to the reception and tell them about it non-existence. No intercom, so every time you need any service or contact the hotel people for any issue or service, a long walk awaits for you every time .
Absolutely loved the vibe and the environment. Peaceful stay and well maintained property with a beachside view. Seaside view rooms were a bit small but the rooms on top with garden views were spacious. Great stay
Great location, beds were pretty solid but the room was a good size and at a great price. Was nice to have a good size pool and private beach.Extra plug sockets would be a bonus though!
Great location Amazing staff!!!!!The room was amazing The pool and the pool restaurant was very goodWe had the best time
Swiming pool area, location
Not so much offten clean rooms and pore qualiry laundry servis
The pool is great and the grounds are lovely and well maintained. The cleaning and maintenance staff are sweet.
There's no help from the front desk re any activities or recommendations for where to get or do anything. The pool area needs some updating. Torn awnings, ripped cushions and the bar should play mellow music not full moon rave house once the parties are gone.
It was a great location, and I enjoyed walking into Haad Rin every night. I loved the room and slept very well.
I arrived 5 minutes later than they expected at 9.05pm, but the reception actually closes at 7pm and not 8.30pm as advertised on Booking.com. If I'd known this, I would have stayed the night near Donsak Pier. At least, I messaged them to tell them about my predicament and that I may miss the 5.30pm boat. The receptionist was very rude to me. It is not my fault the boat was late, and then the taxi dropped me at the wrong resort. I actually managed to get the 5.30pm in the end. After a long commute, I was treated like dirt.On check out, I had the same receptionist. I waited patiently to be served. 10 seconds after the customer in front of me leaves, she turns around to me and says "you need to give me the key, so I can check your room, no point sitting there" She then slaps 500 baht on the desk after they check the room and points to it. No thank you or please. She is the rudest person I have met in ThailandI was actually planning my 50th Birthday next year with 10 friends, but I will not come here. Bad customer service is a big no from me plus they never responded to my message about feeling uncomfortable on my first night. The only saving grace was the lady that showed me to my room was kind throughout my stay.
The resort is an easy walk for the centre of town but very big for it's location, with a super large swimming pool and private beach. The rooms on stilts were cool, nice and private with great big windows.
The beds were a bit hard, and it would be nice if the bar was open more!
excellent location, staff and accommodation for a very reasonable price. I initially thought this would be my worst stay, so i had low expectations based on some reviews, however the rooms were excellent. I stayed in a beachfront bungalow and one slightly higher up, and both were great. Its obviously not a 5 star resort, however for the relative price compared to other properties in had rin , it is very reasonable and would highly recommend. As i stayed at the sea breeze after, for double the price and it was not worth it! Again helpful friendly staff, and the manageress is actually very nice once you build a rapport with her, contrary to other reviews. excellent cafe also, and do a very good coffee for 60 bhat
only down side was that on the balconies of both rooms I was in, you could see you neighbours. However this was not a problem for me, but it may be for others who want total privacy.
The hotel was beautiful and lived up to expectations. We stayed in the boathouse, which was very large and cosy. The hotel had a large swimming pool and its own beach. The cleaners were very friendly and helpful. We didn't need to be cleaned every day, but they did provide us with toilet paper and other toiletries. Also free coffee and tea which was in our room.
The reception was poor. The reception staff were rude. The lady's tone of voice was abrupt. Every sentence was followed by - Did you understand? Unfortunately not in a caring tone, but as if we were disturbing her and could move faster. This was the first time I saw such an attitude in Thailand. My husband and I were like criminals. At least that was how we were treated at the reception.
