I enjoyed my stay! The staff was very nice and helpful, the rooms and resort are clean. Nice poolalso, I enjoyed the restaurant and good prices.

It would be nice to update the bathroomalso add a space to put our luggage

I had a wonderful 8 night stay at Zama Resort at the end of November.The entire staff is absolutely fantastic, always super friendly and welcoming, and ready to accommodate any special request. As I found out, since it is my first time visiting, most folks working in hospitality and restaurant service on this island are from Myanmar. From my personal experience, they are really sweet people.I very much liked the layout of this resort with the rooms well away from the road, some of them actually quite far down the hillside. I stayed in room number 9 and it was a bit of a hike, but also some good exercise.The swimming pool next to the restaurant has slightly salty water which I absolutely enjoyed because it never smelled of chlorine and also was never too warm, like the pools in most hotels in Bangkok.I was surprised to find out upon my arrival that breakfast was included in my booking (via Booking.com) since I usually don’t take that option because I only have black coffee in the morning. However, I could order breakfast until 5 pm which was ideal for me. There were plenty of choices and the staff were also completely open to any combination of items that I would choose. The restaurant/lobby is very comfy, with some great, colorful artwork and some decent vibe music at a fairly low volume. There are cats all over the property, so, hopefully you aren’t allergic to them! I found them always entertaining. There are some interesting, more Thai items on the menu as well, just give them a try for dinner. Happy hour is from 5 to 7! The grounds of the resort had been sprayed for mosquitoes right before my arrival and that seemed to have been very effective since I didn’t end up with a single bite during my time there. Wifi had great coverage throughout the resort… much better than in some hotels on Phuket.There's definitely good snorkeling amongst the rocks right in front of the resort. I can only say that this was a great stay and I would certainly return.

Well, the bed in my room was pretty hard. A friend of mine stayed for a night in room 23 right by the pool and that had been updated more recently - a shower stall was added and the bed was certainly a bit softer. Also, it would have been nice to have some sort of mosquito curtain for part of the sliding door so one could keep it slightly open at night to enjoy the sound of the sea below. I have one of those for a patio door in my house in France and they are easy to put together.

First of all what made the experience so good is the amazing stuff. They are so nice and welcoming??The restaurant very good and the cocktail’s amazing. There is a happy hour during sunset and the food really good.Breakfast until 17:00.Most importantly the cats in the hotelLoved it!Especially mimi?❤️

Nothing we had an amazing experience

The staff were amazing, very friendly and informative. Breakfast was included which was good and we also had dinner here 1 night which was really delicious. The bungalows were spacious, clean and had a wonderful view of the ocean. It was very quiet however, at night you could here some little creatures moving about outside as the bungalows are within the trees. Loved all the friendly cats on the property including the cheeky kitten. Great location, hired a scooter and rode around most of the island.

The staff and service were great. They are all nice, attentive and go out of their way. The hotel overall is very nice, with a gorgeous view, nice pool area and pretty good food at the restaurant. Location is good, 4 mins from Zen Beach.Like other hotels in the area, there is A LOT of going up and down stairs in order to get to your room, let alone the beach. The hotel doesn't have a very usable beach, but if you walk down a couple of minutes there are nice beaches and a few mins away you can find Zen Beach.There are a few nice cats roaming the grounds, which is always fun.

The rating was would be exceptional if it would haven’t been for the poor Wifi connectivity. The primary reason why I booked this place was because it said in its description on booking that WiFi was good. Yet, WiFi wasn’t reliable at all, and I needed to connect on my photo constantly.

The resort bungalows are spread out over the rocky hill, and I had the beach front bungalow nr 2. So be prepared for walking many stairs if you wish to stay close to the beach. Luckily, there is a bike renting at the front of the resort, which is highly recommended if you wish to experience other beaches, which is a must, due to the bad condition of the local beach. I liked Salad Beach the best for its beautiful tropical outlook and also because it was quite easy to walk on the sand up to the reef for snorkeling.Breakfast in the resort is a la carte and is served all day long by the very attentive and friendly staff. The chief cook is fantastic and you can have a very good dinner as well, especially with Thai food. The bungalow size is very nice, and the mattress and pillows are comfortable, a good sleep is guaranteed. Although I felt wonderful at Zama and had a lovely time there, the second time i would choose my staying at Salad Beach.

The beach in front of the resort is full of rocks and almost impossible for swimming, especially at low tide. Reaching the reef with corals and tropical fishes is very, very difficult.I tried my luck one day and was rewarded with a beautiful view of tropical fishes.This difficulty of walking inside the water is actually the case with other beaches in the north-west of the island as well, and beach shoes are actually a must have items. If you wish to experience better and easier from the beach snorkeling, choose Koh Tao as your island destination.

Comfortable, clean, great breakfast and absolutely lovely staff.

We stayed in a room with a partial sea view — the balcony and the view were truly beautiful. The entire resort, including the room, was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. You can make the room completely dark, which is great if you like to sleep in.The staff was absolutely lovely and kind. While you often hear that service in Thailand is good, here it really stood out and made the whole experience even better.One very nice feature is that breakfast can be served until 5 PM (!), and both the breakfast and the restaurant food were very tasty. They also provide 6 (!) bottles of mineral water in the room every day, which is a really nice touch.

The beach in front of the resort is quite rocky, so you need to walk a bit to find a nicer spot.

Everything was comfortable. Loved breakfast until 5pm. Staff was friendly and always helpful. The cats were all nice as well.

Some small details in disrepair, probably after a busy season. A TV would have been nice in the room.

Too many steps best getting a room at top of hill. Resort dated from when photos taken and a bit dated.

The staff here was very nice and very attentive. The restaurant was excellent. Being right on the beach was nice. I was in the very last room on the walk down to the beach so I was literally on the sand. Amazing view at night. Very quiet.

I don't think there's anything I didn't like. But it should be noted this isn't a five star hotel. No judgments. But it's older and a little bit rough around the edges. Not crazy rough but older. And it's quite a hike up and down the stairs inside the resort. So if you are someone who has mobility issues this is not a place for you. But with that said it was a nice place.
