Pros +
- I didn’t set high expectations for the only hotel in a small town, but I was really blown away by how nice everything was! I left as a big fan of APA Hotels. The onsen upstairs wasn’t comfortable with large tattoos, so I didn’t get to use that facility. But it looked nice from the outside. There is just one washer, but it has the lock code so you can walk away without any worries and relax in your room while it runs. The staff were very courteous and were a great help even with the language barrier. They conveniently did the luggage shipping service at their front desk, so we didn’t have to try to find another option for that. The hotel is right next door to the train station, which made it a short walk and easy to navigate.
- Proxity to the train station.
- Located just next to Daishoji station. Roof-top is free. It's basic but definitely easier to shower there than in the room.
Cons -
- There was some maintenance work going on while we stayed, which we were told to be out of our rooms by 11am one of the days. The power was going to be off. Luckily we had friends we could visit while that was happening. And I think most people don’t take trips just to hang out in their room during the day. That may not be happening again anytime soon.
- Room is just average and extremely hot. Rooftop bath is great considering the in-room bathroom is extremely small and tight.
- Staff could not speak English. Room is extremely hot and gets very uncomfortable to sleep in at night due to the heat. Toilet is extremely small, we used the roof-top onsen for oue baths. They placed a long sofa in our room but the sofa is falling apart.

The hotel was next to the station and it had a good public bath
The staff didn't explain anything except the breakfast end times. I didn't know it had a public bath and the free coffee was taken away in the morning.

Bathroom and hallway smells like smoke
