Riss Hotel Malioboro

It's a 4-star hotel but not always top notch - it's generally clean but certain things look a bit.like falling apart. However, the staff was super nice, the food was super tasty and plentiful. It's quite a noisy neighborhood and the windows don't really keep the noice out, so make sure to take earplugs for a good night sleep (the nearby train station has a really loud street crossings that will sure wake you up at night, as well as the callings from the mosque before dawn).

It’s a short walk from the station so a good base for sightseeing down the Main Street to the museums and palaces, and easy to get out by vehicle to the historic temples in the surrounding countryside. Food was excellent.

It was a little quiet when I was there - off season - so I don’t think many rooms were open on the higher floors. I was at the 2nd floor to the back. I did not mind the slight noise from the station but if you are noise sensitive, then ask for a room at the front.

Great hotel, spacious rooms with modern bath. Nice views over town. Good breakfast. Excellent service, very personal!!! Good price!

The breakfast offerings might have been heaven's delight for local tastes but it offered very little for Western breakfast preferenances (no eggs, potatoes, meats, cheese, yougart, bagels, muffins, etc.). Most of it was what one would consider "lunch" (rice or noodles with various toppings).

Was truly delightful experience thanks to the exceptional staff. I must commend the team for their excellent hospitality, which was truly the best part of my stay. The staff members were incredibly accommodating, warm, and helpful, going above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction throughout my visit.

Unfortunately, I noticed that the room cleanliness fell short of expectations during my stay. Additionally, the housekeeping staff often forgot to set up the bathmat and provide adequate guest amenities. The bathmat provided was more akin to a hand towel due to its thin and unsatisfactory quality.

We really enjoyed our stay at Riss Hotel. The rooms are lovely and big with everything you need. Staff are very sweet but not a lot of English is spoken. There is a huge variety of food for breakfast. It's within easy walking distance of the Tugu Train station.

The pool is used for swimming lessons on a Sunday morning making it quite noisy. Could hear the train.

The reception told us that Booking did this and promised to check. But no reply anymoreNext to hotel trash was dumped and rats all over the placeToaster at breakfast was broken

the location is perfect near malioboro street.the staff was wery nice and helpful.Breakfast was very good, highly recommended.

Very close to the main street (Malioboro) and the train station to take the shuttle to the airport. The room was very spacious and nice with a modern smart tv and air conditioning. The staff has been helpful

We found the room to be a bit dirty, especially the bathroom (there were hairs on the floor and in the shower, and the fixtures were not very new) as well as the window in the room. Also, we thought the laundry service was a bit expensive; we spent around €12 for a few items, while elsewhere we paid €2 for more clothes. The breakfast buffet was very extensive, but the 'European' section with croissants and pastries was inedible because they were too dry—better not to include them. Lastly, near the hotel, there is an Indonesian 'dump,' meaning a field where they burn garbage (not exactly healthy). Even though it might not be the hotel's fault, it's worth mentioning.

Lovey hotel, well positioned near the train station - 15 minute walk only. Also near the main shopping area at Malioboro. Lots of local street food options within 5 min walk.

Would have appreciated some more English explanation of items offered for breakfast as I have dietary needs and need to know what I am eating.

The towel and blanket is old and looks dirty. They need to provide new and fresh towel and blanket.

As a light sleeper, this hotel was a nightmare. I struggled to fall asleep due to the hotel's close proximity to the train station, where the noise from trains was very noticeable.
