Beautiful historic building with stunning stained glass and elegant lobby. Very nice pool. Rooms are clean in a basic way. Spacious and well decorated in traditional style. Kind staff, somewhat limited English skills. Very helpful in getting me a driver and planing tours and such. Compliments to the wonderful staff, who really made our stay memorable.

Unfortunately, this is a very run down property in need of a lot of work to make this a true five star hotel. Very dingy and run down in parts. Needs repainting, doors need to be refinished, this type of thing. Worst part is the restaurant. Absolutely terrible food. Literally inedible. We tried dinner and breakfast and both were bad. Unfortunately due to this, I would not stay here again.

Staff didn't clean room and didn't understand English. Rooms were really bare and felt more like a 2-3 star hotel. Bathroom was really bad.

most expensive rooms (executive ?) : even as All members, we had to pay an extra (however small) fee for a twin bedded room.

It is a beautiful property. It is also really close to Tugu.

It is quite old and the rooms could be refurbished.

Breakfast was just okay for 5 star hotel

All the staff were super friendly! The hotel is classically beautiful but showing its age.

The breakfast could have been special, it has lots of variety.However none of the dishes that were supposed to be warm actually were. Except for the egg station all foods were room temperature and the meats usually dried out and overcooked. Somewhat disappointing imo.

This is a fantastic place to stay in Yogjakarta!! Really beautiful, clean, spacious, great spa and just the most wonderful and welcoming staff. A tremendous value, would definitely return and will recommend to friends!!

Everything about this hotel is wonderful. Well preserved and maintained Heritage Hotel with lovely features everywhere you look. Great Ambience. Very friendly and efficient staff. Marvelously Comfortable Rooms. Great Buffet breakfast as well as the Al La Carte menu available throughout the day.

Liked everything! Some amazing staff, especially Ghrita from the front desk. She was amazing, her English was excellent, she was so personable,professional and helpful!!

The wine bar allowed smoking, so it stunk!

The noise ( there is alot of dogs barks in the morning ) and its not soundproof. also the housekeeper its not being quiet in the morning (ard 7am they already makes alot of noise)

I like their friendliness. The staff make me feel welcome.. thank you to Ms. Githa who greeted us on the first day and also his team (sorry i forgot his name) who will be graduate from UGM in February next year. Also ms Feby (? i guess) who help me take my Gofood. I hope I have chance to stay here again one day. Breakfast was perfect and lots of variants. Everything taste perfect.My days in Jogja were always raining, but I never felt bored in Phoenix.

maybe you can add some new gym equipment, but this doesn't change my rating that overall, I like it.

Beautiful building, beautiful architecture, beautiful rooms, lovely food and nice staff. Helped me with everything and put up with my inability to understand things very well and were very open to helping. Loved my stay!

Central, lovely authentic decor, decent bkfasts, very clean. Not gigantic which we like. Food fine not exceptional

The staff were very kind and helpful. The hotel itself is beautiful with interesting artifacts and art making for an elegant ambiance. The breakfast offers a great variety of food, although I personally would have preferred less variety and higher quality for some dishes.

Minor points but I would have liked air conditioning in the restaurant or a part of the restaurant. (The bar is air conditioned but smoking is allowed so I saw no one there except one or two smokers.)

Breakfast was truly amazing! Service and the building is amazing. Living in old- colonial building was a memorable experience :)
