Hualien Synco Hotel

The hotel is old but well-kept and features interesting decor reminiscent of its past. They will allow you to park your bicycles in the lobby overnight.

One of the stairwells was filled with items blocking passage. The receptionist didn't speak any English but we were able to figure everything out.

The lady at the front desk was the best part of our stay! She was so kind and friendly.

The bed and the pillowed were very hard. The AC also struggled to work properly. The location was about a 10 minute walk from a close bus stop and at least a 15 minute walk from the night market.

Good location and lovely staff.

Very basic accommodation which needs updating

Staff was really good. Helpful and willing to go the extra mile. Didn't expect that from a lower level hotel. In fact, most of the features of this hotel are much better than they could have been. Very good value. I would stay there again if I was just looking for the basics in a central location.

The beds were small and hard as a rock, but that's pretty common here. On the other hand, they provided entertainment -- there was some drunk guy down the hall singing KTV late at night in his room. Someone eventually calmed him down and it stopped. Overall not good. It should have been stopped earlier. I sat in my room for about an hour, enduring it and wondering if I should do something to handle it. It was unpleasant, distracting, and a bit stressful. In the end, I'm glad it wasn't necessary to get involved.

Incredibly friendly staff, very clean and spacious room coming with bathtub. Very good value for money. Special mention to the incredible staff ! We had to leave 1 day earlier due to change of plan, we didnt ask for refund for the unused night but the lady at the reception insisted on refunding us. I’ve never seen this anywhere else in the world ! Thanks so much for this stay !If you’re a foreigner visiting Taroko don’t hesitate to come to this place.

They had a small covered parking garage across the street. Right in the middle of the entrance is an iron beam. I hit it back up, causing $1000s of dollars damage to my car.

The beds were only double beds, not really big enough for 2 friends to share. I slept on the floor.
