Unique Hotel

The overall experience was good. The only drawback would be the treatment from the two receptionists, especially the first one who greeted us upon arrival. I think they could improve significantly in terms of friendliness and respect for guests. On the other hand, the staff who served us were infinitely friendlier. Otherwise, the hotel is well located, clean, and the breakfast is good. The only drawback I'd mention is that there's no height difference between the shower and the rest of the bathroom, which causes waterlogging, which is very common in Asia. They also offer bicycles for city tours.

The staff is super nice and help you a lot. The room is comfortable and clean and there’s also a public space for you to work or drink coffee. The breakfast is not that good but it works

It really doesn’t worth’s it’s cost - small rooms, quite worn off furniture and equipment in the bathroom, no space for towel drying, mould in the bathroom. Breakfast is that I’d prefer not to have. The only solid plus - people working there do their best

I had originally booked this hotel for three nights in advance. However, due to several issues, I decided to cancel my reservation after my first night at Unique Hotel. When I approached the staff with my request, they politely accommodated it without any hassle.

Disappointing Buffet Breakfast and Poor Hygiene StandardsMy experience with the buffet breakfast was extremely disappointing. I found hair in the food, the coffee maker was outdated, and the breakfast was served in a meeting hall with dirty table covers. The overall dining setup felt neglected and unhygienic.Beyond the breakfast area, the hotel’s facilities were noticeably old and poorly maintained. The bathroom fixtures were outdated, and in various corners and along the sides of the hotel, there was visible dirt and grime that normal cleaning couldn’t remove—indicating the need for a complete renovation.This is by far the lowest sanitary standard I have ever encountered in a hotel. I would not recommend staying here unless significant improvements are made.

The room was large. That was about it really.

The room (511) was unlocked on arrival-and this quickly became obvious why. The lock didn’t work from the outside! Luckily I was only staying one night, travelling light and could take my passport etc with me. At this price point, a non functioning lock is totally unacceptable, esp as it was clearly known about! The lighting in the room was strange to say the least, multiple lamps all with different switches, meaning it took about ten minutes to switch the lights off! Location was bad, a 30 minute walk from the train station. Uber doesn’t operate here so unless you’re within bus times, you’re risking the meter taxi or walking! Staff language skills were non existent. At least teach your front desk staff a few obvious phrases in a couple of European languages!The room was mostly clean if tatty although the table and linen were stained/dirty. Not impressed with this one.

Halfway from the train station to the coast, we had 4 pleasant days here, not in the highest season. The free bicycles was a nice extra and we used them to get easily around Hualien and the area. Breakfast was a bit basic but absolutely fine. Lots of options to grab some dinner in any direction on the main road.

Room was decent for the price. Breakfast was vegan friendly. Free bicycles were a great perk. Allowed an early checkin which I appreciate after a long train ride. Location is super being on the main street with lots of places close by especially with the bicycle.

The key did not lock properly. No english speaking staff at the lobby.

The staff at the hotel was very polite. Especially the guy who met us in the evening. He helped us with our things, opened the door and answered all our questions very friendly.

The breakfast was Chinese . foreigners have practically nothing to eat. The shower was leaking in the room.

The location was superb. There were many restaurants and shops nearby. One wouldn’t have to worry about starving or being bored.

The room was a bit small and the toilet didn’t have a separate washroom with sliding doors. The floor becomes slippery when one finishes taking a bath.
