Gogunda Palace

Incredible historic property. This is a living museum. We had the place to ourselves. The Raj Mahal suite was such a treat.

The palace is absolutely stunning, and the rooms—especially the suites—are truly luxurious. The staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive, and the evening folk music creates a wonderful atmosphere. Don’t let the outside surroundings fool you!

Not much to do outside the hotel.

Property is far from the city. Almost an hour's drive. Property is well maintained. Only drawback is it shares the compound with locals. Hence, if you climb the rampant for better view, you will be greeted with the sight of locals. Food is good. Menu is excellent.

senior citizens and those with difficulty walking will find it difficult as it's a heritage palace the steep stairs have been kept intact.

We had a beautiful stay here. The staff were friendly and helpful and the property is so peaceful. We loved it. It is about an hour from Udaipur which made it the perfect escape after a couple of busy days in the city. Others have marked it down for location, but for us that was part of the attraction.

The room photographs on Booking.com and actual rooms do not match.We booked a Gogunda room ,the Rooms offered were nothing like the photo.The steps of the property will require an effort for seniors.Other than that there is nothing to complain about.

it was beautifully restored to its mogul days. The rooms were lovely and made you feel special.

The lights were erratic so was the cable television. The food at the restaurant caused me to have diarrhea.

The stay at this heritage palace hotel was an incredible experience. The gardens were well maintained, the hotel architecture was beautiful, and the room was ornate, palatial, but with all the modern amenities. The staff was very hospitable. Breakfast and dinner were delicious.

We liked everything

Everything about this property was amazing. From infrastructure to ambience it was exceptionally great.

Just that the property is close to 50kms away from Udaipur city. If you have your own vehicle it’s convenient or else you’ll have to spend a lot of money on commutation. Also No ola and uber is available from Gogunda to city. however from City to gogunda ola and Uber are easily available.

If one is visiting Udaipur and wish to experience stay in real heritage property , "Gogunda Palace" is best option available. Palace has a rich history and direct connection with King of Mewar "Maharana Pratap." Since the palace was built in 15th Century and converted in hotel on as is basis i.e. without altering original structure of the palace ; all the rooms are of different sizes and with different interior. However, all the rooms are beautifully decorated with old style furniture and painting to give you real experience of stay in Palace. While location of palace is little away from Udaipur (30 to 45 minutes only), must visit places like Kumbhalgarh Fort , Haldi Ghati, Chittorgarh Fort, Nathdwara Shreenathji Temple can be conveniently visited from "Gogunda Palace". In fact, Udaipur City can also be covered by staying at Gogunda Palace. Staff of the hotel and restaurant is very polite and helpful. Due to low occupancy, if full buffet breakfast is not available, restaurant staff is happy to serve your favorite food on demand. Swimming pool of the hotel is very clean and well maintained. Overall, we recommend a stay at "Gogunda Palace" for real heritage and luxurious experience. We will definitely visit again.

I am content with the holiday I spent with my family at Gogunda Palace. Everyone had fun, eating, taking pictures of scenic surroundings, roaming in rain, heated pool, jacuzzi. We were at peace...

The stairs to my room were a torment to my spouse... but thats what you get to expect out of a heritage property.

I loved the heritage property, entire staff was very warm , Sanjay from reception and Anoop in the kitchen took very good care of us. we stayed for one night only and I loved it.. ??

True Heritage feeling . The property is a combination of Historical magic with modern facilities. The moment you enter the place you feel you have arrived at a unique place

Approach road is through the villages with potholes so until you reach you feel bit clueless especially if you happen to arrive after sunset

Amritara Gogunda Palace is around 40 kms from Udaipur City. It’s an old palace converted in heritage hotel with great hotel grounds and restoration works been done at finest. Although hotel access through village is very inconvenient as you have to pass narrow village passage and then it’s not hard concrete or tar road. Hotel staff was very flexible with the late check in and late check out request. We were given two rooms at some distance although request to keep two rooms close to each other was already made. Hotel staff is very good and food quality is great too. You can also get amazing view of the Aravali Mountain range when you climb up the roof terrace.
