    Pros +

    • Beautiful property and nice staff
    • Property location, staff and food taste.
    • Overall our experience was fantastic. Clean rooms, clean washrooms and rooftop restaurant Sangria had an awesome view but a bit expensive.......

    Cons -

    • I was given a room next to cafe and it was noisy all night through but they did accommodate it and upgraded my room the next day.
    • Renovation work was not handled properly. The swimming pool was not clean.
    • There is blasting loud music every night until midnight from their rooftop bar which is a huge nuisance to all the guests. Towels and all the bedding smelled of phenyl or bleach type cleaning agent. Bathrooms are also rundown. The spa lady was nice and did a good job probably that was the only decent thing in my experience.

The hotel was a 5 star hotel. Room very luxurious with snacks and bottled water. Cleaned daily and only a 10 minute walk to the old town.

When I arrived at the Hotel, I was told I have no booking. I insisted I made a booking well in advance in January and also spoke to the Hotel on the 13th Feb, reconfirming I was coming. After a lot of pushing and shoving, the reception finally got a senior manager, who verified that the booking was made on the 5th Jan, bust some how it was seen in their system as booked and cancelled on 14th Feb.They had no rooms left and had a marriage party who booked many rooms. This explains why they cancelled our booking and gave it away to others who needed more rooms. This is very unprofessional and unethical. We still used Booking.com to get another hotel in town. Surprisingly the very hotel that Swaroop Vilas said had no vacancy, as they called the Hotel, pretending to help us.

Nothing, except we finally found after insistence, a senior manager, who investigated our inconvenience.

The reception staff were friendly and helpful when we checked in. The room itself was spacious, clean and comfortable and had plenty of bottled water. The housekeeping staff were all very friendly and happy to hand over extra bottles of water and instant coffee when needed. Breakfasts were OK – good buffet of fruit and various Indian breakfast dishes – and they would prepare eggs and toast on demand. Only instant coffee was available, and the fruit juices were out of cartons, but they did have a plentiful supply of strong tea. The same restaurant does Indian food by night (called the Heritage or something like that), and we ate there on the night we arrived. I have to say it was probably the nicest meal I ate while I was in Udaipur. I had a ‘Rajasthani Chicken’ which was delicious, quite spicy and had just the right level of heat for me. My wife had Dhal Makhani which she found too hot (it was slightly hotter than the chicken but I found it quite tasty). We had various breads as well and they were all very good.

Rather than being a tranquil lakeside hotel, it seems to be a bit of a nightspot, with one of it’s terraces occupied by a bar/restaurant called ‘Sangria – an Art of Mixology’ which has a mixture of live bands and DJ’s who perform until around midnight. Since we couldn’t beat them, we joined them on a couple of nights, and had quite a fun time and the food was OK but unmemorable, but the rather samey music eventually begins to grate after a couple of hours – unfortunately it was almost as loud in our room as it was in the bar itself. This bar seems only loosely associated with the hotel itself, and we were not able to charge anything to our room, as we could in the other restaurants and cafes. It turns out that the hotel is just outside the old city wall and during the day various busses of different sizes would pull up and disgorge some passengers who would then engage in negotiations with the local Tuk-Tuk cartel whose members would eventually whisk them off to somewhere in the old town where streets are too narrow for busses. Apart from the Tuk-Tuk goings on, there was also quite a bit of doggie activity. There was a mother and puppy who seemed to have territory immediately in front of the hotel and around the corner there was a fair-sized pack of about 20 dogs who from time to time would run about and chase each other or passing cars and would often howl late into the night. There is one other café/restaurant next to the lobby called the Pot Garden which advertises itself as a 24 hour Bistro. I had coffee there a couple of times as it has an Espresso machine. The first time I ordered a double espresso and they gave me two double espressos!

The location of the property is literally a dream! It's in the middle of everywhere you would want to go in Udaipur, You can catch a ride within minutes, Close your eyes and you have arrived. The Beds were comfy, The service was great and the Staff was super friendly!

We didn't get the room we were promised, We booked a "Superior Queen Room" which showed windows and ample of sunlight coming through, But we were put in literally the last room which felt totally isolated and closed, THERE WERE NO WINDOWS, We have 2 very small one's which were blocked by plants they had placed outside. When asked to change the room, They told us they can't do it because they are all sold out of rooms.

The food was not upto the mark…few items were good but didn’t like the taste of some items.

The rooms were not very good based on the price. Facilities were not there although during booking we opt for garden facing balcony but there was nothing no view only walls. Sleepers were not provided. Only small biscuit packet and fruit basket was there in which the fruits were stale already. In the bathroom no tissue nothing. The location was good and architecture was good in the hotel and nothing else.

Very pretty property the pictures don’t even captivate the beauty of the property.

Location although on part of the lake was further from the old town. Food was a little pricy compared to other places. Very nice bar great drinks and nice pool. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Relatively OK location - can walk to most attractions.

Grossly overpriced for what you get. This is not a 4* hotel - a 2* at best (by western standards). The room had dingy furniture, the barroom had black mold, there were bugs in the bathroom and the entire hotel smelled of mold. Add to that the super loud music from the bar (our room was garden level, so far below…) that made it impossible to fall asleep until well into the night.

    8JosePosted on: 12-28-2023

The staff was really helpful to get the room we expected in the first place, also to help us with general questions. We felt welcomed and also enjoyed the eventful evening and night in their sangria bar and restaurant. It was charming and the food tasty. The room was ample, there was hot pleasant water in the shower, the room was clean and the bed felt like a paradise

The swimming pool was not adept for swimming since it was cold, it became an ornamental piece of water that no one could use, we expected more items during breakfast.

Building was nice with beatifull paintings and flowers

Location on booking map was not accurate and far away from where it should beWifi connection was unstable and breakfast not as good as anticipated

    Decent property!

We reserved a family suite and two superior queen rooms for a two-night stay, totaling $750. The property itself is adequate, but our experience with the service was quite disappointing. Upon check-out, we raised our concerns with the reception staff; however, they simply acknowledged our complaints without offering an apology or any form of compensation. The staff's behavior was rather impolite, and it appears they lack proper training in customer service. This has undoubtedly been one of the most unsatisfactory hotel/resort experiences I've ever encountered.
