A mall hotel offering huge, clean and comfortable rooms with a balcony in a historic building in the old city. Traditional architecture and stunning views.

Nothing- but it’s worth noting that there is no lift

We would happily return to this accommodation, mainly because of the exceptional care provided by the caretaker, Mr. Jaswant. He is incredibly kind, helpful, and made our trip to Udaipur effortless by guiding us at every step, whether it was walking with us to show the way, booking cabs, or recommending places to visit. He always had an answer to any question we asked.The accommodation itself is very well maintained, thanks to Mr. Jaswant, and is located in a prime, easily accessible area close to all the main tourist attractions. We would definitely recommend staying here.

The Raj Niwas is absolutely incredible. We stayed in the Maharaja suite which is fantastic and has wonderful views. Area is quiet and away from the buzz. The host Mr Jassu is truly fantastic, making delicious breakfasts on the rooftop (with phenomenal views) and helping out with every (need without being intrusive). Loved our 4 night stay here and felt super safe and cared for

Jassu, the "jack-of-all-trades," is both the hotel front desk staff, the cleaner, and provides breakfast. He could not do enough for me....even running down the street to fetch some little cracker snacks I mentioned that I enjoyed.He was polite and very concerned that I have everything I need, AND he asked me about my plans for the visit to Udaiper to ensure that I wasn't going to miss anything! He provided directions and was just the kind of "old school" hotelier that I remember before the internet days...he provided service over and above what one could expect or need.My room was massive! It had many charming haveli details, and the hotel is small so personal service was exceptional. Honestly, I didn't need such a large room for one person, but it was really delightful....my room had a view of Lake Pichola, and the bed was great. The little stained glass features in the walls provided nice soft designs each night and early in the morning. I had nice hot water and toiletries provided in the bathroom, and Jassu wanted to make me a hot breakfast each day, but not being much of a breakfast eater, I was content with toast and coffee. Breakfast is served on the top floor with a wonderful view overlooking the lake.Location of Raj Niwas is wonderful...right across the street from the Rainbow Cafe (where I had excellent Pasta Arrabiata and beer), and the views from BOTH the cafe AND the rooftop of the hotel were spectacular! Also, there is a delightful man who runs a shop next door - Krishna - who has many beautiful things available to buy --- garments, fabrics, new and antique paintings, and glass inlaid tiles. Do visit his shop - he is very kind.

The room was spacious with a gorgeous balcony view to watch the sunset over the lake! Jassu was amazing, taking care of all of our needs from restaurant recommendations to tours and airport transfer. He couldn't be nicer.

This small homestay has only a few rooms and is located right on the main tourist area in Udaipur. Our room was huge, very clean, with a large bay window that gave us a view of the tourist traffic and a glimpse of the lake. Color glass inlays that lit up at night made it very romantic. There was always plenty of hot water. Breakfast is served on the terrace with a wonderful view of the lake. You can choose to have Indian or Continental. The person in charge of the homestay was very nice and attentive and prepared the breakfast to our taste. He even went out of his way to prepare food we could take to our train journey as we checked out very early.

Wonderful experience. The hotel is very well located. Lots of restaurants and shops around.Breakfast overlooking the lake is priceless. The room was perfectly clean with an amazing terrace that we would have loved to spend more time on it. Jassu is fantastic, doing everything in the hotel while answering any questions you may have, booking drivers (as everywhere in India, you always need to deal prices), helping with laundry or money exchange, giving recommendations... Also, ask for an Indian breakfast if you feel like it :)

Downside: bed is a quite hard and not very pleasant if you have back problems.

Great room and location. Jassu is an excellent host and manages to run the place single handedly.

The location was perfect! The rooms were huge and very clean. We booked all three rooms for our group. The room on the third level had an amazing terrace overlooking the lake. Perfect for a predinner drink to watch the sunset. Despite being a relatively modern building, it had a lot of charm, with heritage features. We found the staff very helpful. When some of us were unwell Jessu was concerned and offered good advice about what to eat and what to avoid.

It’s difficult to find fault with Raj Niwas but the bed was a little too hard for me. Other than that it was excellent. There was some street noise but nothing that worried us.

Location, the rooms- large and spacious, and the staff. All the essentials for a lovely stay. The rooftop terrace was private with great views.

Nothing not to like.

Great location on lake, perfect sunset view, beautiful room, thoughtful touches and they really look after their guests well. Breakfast overlooking lake included. Easy walk to everything. Very clean well kept, lovely building, close to attractions, shops and cafes.

Nothing - although as personal preference we found the bed was very hard and not that comfy for us.

Bed was rather hard

simple yet tasty breakfast. centrally located opposite the lake Pichola with beautiful views of the lake and aravali mountains.Jassu was super helpful and hospitable...took care of us really well.

The only snag is that the taxi cannot come to this property after 9 am, hence one has to to get auto from nearby place .The reception needs to b modernised.it’s very dull

The property is a little hard to find. It’s pricey compared to what the going rate for similar properties in Udaipur

We have taken the upstairs room with balcony which had nice terrace with lake view on palace. Big room also with nice seating area. Central location nearby city palace
