Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels, Fort & Dunes, Khimsar

It is a 500-year old property, restored lovingly and now maintained to modern standards. Rooms are spacious and well furnished. The food was great. Vintage cars were a pleasant surprise.

For an ITC Welcomgroup property, the breakfast didn't have enough variety.

Enjoyed lot of delicious food options in breakfast and dinner. Rooms were very clean and big. Enjoyed the stunning views of sand dunes. Overall my family had a great time here. We may visit again in future.

Wifi in our room was not good. They may have to improve it.

Totally exceeded expectations - whole property was stunning, pool was lovely, rooms were huge, extras including the desert afternoon tea were great, and the magician & puppet acts were nice additions to the stay.

Buffet was very expensive.

This hotel has it all!A great venue, super friendly staff who are helpful, good food and beverages (happy hour), beautiful room that is spacious, evening animation, a pool. A beautiful oasis in the Thar desert.You will pay some more money compared to other places in the area, but it really gives a new breath to further discover authentic India .

The pool offered a great refreshment, but is not heated. The hotel was rather calm in the number of guests, but you always find some special people who are having a personality. Big respect to the staff and management in always keeping calm and polite to above described guests.

The location, the upkeep, the way they had used the ruins of the fort to add to the ambience while also creating a very modern resort experience

Everything about this place was simply amazing. The location, service, delicious food, the ambience of the restaurant, the wide spread of breakfast items, the super clean and classy rooms, the bar library, swimming pool, vintage car collection on display, evening entertainment - puppet show, magic show and the list goes on and on. Everything was simply top notch. Our rooms upgraded to private terrace shared by our two suites (301 & 302) were simply amazing. One suite had two bathrooms in it. Sunset excursion arrangement was a perfect way to end a long travel day!It is rare to find good hotels that serve equally good quality for food. It makes the location fully self-contained. Worth considering it for a destination wedding venue.

1. No lift access to the higher floors. Heavy steps would be a severe challenge for the older and physically challenged guests.2. The sunrise+ safari package was a rip-off. The jeep that took us for about 30 km was an open one and we were freezing to the core. Staff should have warned us to be better prepared for the weather. The only disappointment in the whole trip. That is the reason for 3 stars for Staff.

The stay was good but there were some issues.

Since there was a lot of vacant rooms, they should have asked if we prefer rooms on the ground floor because my parents found it hard to use stairs every now and then. With so many rooms vacant, they should have asked once. The food was also not upto the mark. I wish there were more options especially in the breakfast. The high tea was disappointing.

Beautiful, spacious room in the desert hut.

It was difficult to communicate with the property - I asked for clarification a few times about how to proceed/ locate the desert property but did not receive clear instructions and so my taxi dropped me off at the Fort (which is the wrong location). The food & drinks menu was slightly limited given the price of the accommodation.

Somewhat overpriced.

An amazing hotel - true luxury palace experience! Tucked in a small town Khimsar, the property offers great breakfast. Dinner in the ruins was an unforgettable experience! The sunset at the dunes, with live tribal songs and high tea, was one of its kind!

The property is amazing. Rooms are spacious and very well maintianed. The food was good. Pool area, open areas and play areas were very nice.

Staff at the resturant was very complacent in attitude. It took them more than 1 hour to bring our order for dinner. they did not ask for ice cream and outrightly refused to my friends. Then I requested them to get it againg telling them that I would report the same to the management if not provided. And finally they got us 4 Scoops of ICE Cream for 18 people

Accommodating staff. Facilities. Friendly staff. How efficient it all runs. There were many rooftop viewing areas. The room cleaning guys work really hard.

Mattress was only about 4” deep. Slept ok but didn’t like the mattress much. The hot water boiler/heater in the bathroom made irritating intermittent noises which disturbed sleep until turned the water off at night. Staff seemed to congregate outside in the court yard quite early in the day, you can hear them immediately outside.

Peace and tranquility at Dunes. The food is delicious. The staff very courteous.

Dunes were mind blowing

We were booked at the fort as the kids wanted to use the facilities but they overbooked and without informing us shifted us to dunes. This was very unprofessional and disappointing ?

The place is Awesome. Room was extremely spacious it was like a house. Food quality and spread is extraordinary. They arrange sunset desert package with snaks with extra cost which is must try. Wonderful experience.

Excellent service and staff were always very helpful. We were late one night and reached 11pm from shopping trip. But when we called the hotel they said they will wait for us and they did serve us food upto midnight.

Location is good. The property is well maintained and clean. Evening Desert Safari was good. The landscape was absolutely stunning. Dining hall was big but very hot as it was on the terrace and AC were not able to make the hall cool.

Bed quality and mattress quality was also bad.Swimming pool was under renovation. At least they should update us before booking.We book three standard room and the quality was below standard.For desert Safari we had to took our own vehicle to the place because the hotel has only one jeep with limited seats.Food was pathetic. We ordered lal mass for lunch and taste was very very bad. Doesn’t seems to be the original recipe. We ordered chocolate cake for my daughter that was absolutely the worst cake we had till date. It was probably been bought from some outside bakery.Quality of breakfast was below average with very limited options when you compare it from the other heritage and five star properties.We recently stayed in Sheraton Delhi that is the place where one feel the luxury.
