Surf n Sun - Arugambay Guesthouse

Very nice garden location.Now that I've stayed there, I can warn other travellers - DO NOT STAY HERE!!

The most expensive room we stayed in for our whole trip and the worst breakfast and the least friendly staff. An extra coffee was charged as more expensive than it would have been in Australia. Included Breakfast was very poor. No servicing of rooms during our stay. Very long waits for breakfast. Ridiculously steep stairs/ladder to our room. Upstairs bedroom had to freeze to allow the downstairs to actually feel the air conditioning.

120$ for a non ac room with a floor fan. The worse value for money you can get. Stuff are great

The property is really beautiful and the location is on the main street close to the beach. The staff is friendly & helpful and an added bonus was the really nice toiletries provided.

It was like a little oasis away from everything in a lush jungle garden, but right near everything you wanted in town. We felt like we were in paradise. The staff were amazing, helping with everything, and the food was incredible, we ate there almost every meal and when we didn’t we wish we had. Just the best place!

The only thing to note is if you want the amazing curry for dinner, you need to make sure to tell them earlier in the day so that it is prepared in time, but that was so worth it, once we found this out we had curry every night

Very aesthetic, friendly staff, clean and in the centre of Arugam Bay

This was my third time in Arugam at this resort. I am constantly delighted with the beautiful garden, beaches and the entire town. Surf N Sun place is very comfortable, delicious breakfasts, very nice staff, the manager Chamod is very nice, solves problems quickly. I will definitely come back :-)

Amazing accommodation! Adorable, breathtaking architecture surrounded by nature. It has its exotic and relaxing ambiance. A place full of zen vibes! The staff is very nice and you feel at home :)

Really nice cabin, beautiful Garden.. made with love and sooo much detailled decoration everywhere. Food and coffee are great! Cozy place to Hang out.

Food was excellent, ambience was lovely. The place flowed really nice. Lots of thought went into the design of the place. Gardens were incredible.

Incredibly large room with attic, excellent customer service and breakfast variety. The chilling lounge is the best space to be with lots of games available and cool music. Staff spends hours each day keeping the tropical forest around accomodation tidy or help with luggage up the stairs.

The stairs leading to the room and within the room are narrow and tricky to manoeuvre

If I could give Surf and Sun a million out of ten I really would!From the moment I arrived and stepped into this oasis of calm, I knew I'd walked into something truly special.The space and location are amazing - a beautifully designed, tranquil spot where you feel close to nature and surrounded by outstanding design, whilst still in the heart of Arugam Bay. It’s super close to the beach and the food here is incredible - the best I had in Arugam Bay by far!Best of all, the team here are absolutely wonderful. They’re so friendly, kind, caring, funny and super interesting. Although I was excited for three more weeks of travel in Sri Lanka, the warmth and hospitality here made me truly sad to go.If you’re looking for a peaceful, respectful place to unwind and connect with nature and geniunely lovely people, then Surf and Sun is the place to go. Seriously, this place is amazing!Much love and many thanks to the Sun and Surf team, I hope to be back soon! ?

Nothing, it was perfect!

Waste of time , and horrible

No air conditioning,no kettle,tea.coffee ,no TVCharging 3.5% for debit card payment.Very rudeLady at reception only money she taking.Room like Rs 10000 room shed .Very old bed and bedding.No proper menu in the restaurant

A shady beautiful oasis just off the Main Street. Great rooms and lovely people. The gardens go on forever and there are plenty of cool shady places to chill out, beat the heat and have an awesome pizza.

Brilliant kind staff, particularly Maneesha and Chamod. Beautiful grounds that the hotel is set in. Yoga was brilliant too!

Such an amazing time with lots of supports with all stuff. The manager Maneesha was a great communicator, she made every single request of mine happened: transportation, yoga, surfing lessons etc. I was traveling by myself but I felt so safe and welcomed. I highly recommend this place. The hotel is right cross the street from beach. Beautiful sunset is worth to wake up right before 6am.

Arugam Bay is a party town. Especially weekends come with fun music and noise. Just to be aware the party noise goes till 3, 4 am.

Very quiet and peaceful. Breakfast, and food was amazing. Staff and service are super kind. Lounge areas are perfect to chill out, play games after a day at the beach:)Outdoor shower +++

Our room only got 1 nightstand and no tables outside. But that’s a detail.

location is perfect!

We took one Family Cabana with Garden View (Sun Goddess).Very not conformable. The acoustics is working bad. hear everything from the upper floor.There is only one A/C located in the upper floor and when the kids closed the curtain to block the light in the morning it also blocked the air and it was very hot down floor.

10/10 the place was perfectly curated and everyone was so considerate and hospitable. The location is right in the center of Arugam Bay
