Dreamy hostel Arugambay

The hosts were great and specifically Nifras who takes care of the place was very helpful and professional and made sure everything was taken care of. Other members of property including Lala and Rizmi were also very friendly. Would visit again.

The hostel is small but cozy, has many facilities and is located in a good place because it is very quiet at night.

The only thing I would recommend would be to have lockers as the ones that are there are a bit small. But it is not a big problem

The staff was really friendly and help us a lot during our stay. They even helped us with the transport from one hostel to the other. The room was very big and everything was very clean.

Our room didn’t have aircon and sometimes it was really hot inside.

The host and other staff are super friendly and helpful. They’re happy to help you arrange activities or other things for the best price. They can also assist with getting a taxi to your next destination and finding others to share the ride with. This hostel is definitely recommended, whether you prefer to do your own thing or join in on activities organized by the hostel. Big bathroom.

What a gem!!! I booked this for one night and ended up stayed a lot more. It’s the cleanest hostel i have been so far in Asia, all staff are super friendly and helpful. The rooms have air con, lockers and the room i was staying in also had a big bathroom. 10/10 value for money

Stayed here for 3 nights.The "low" ranking of the hostel is because last season the prices were higher (Hostel mafia ?)This year (2025) I arrived 2 weeks before the season and it was still really quiet. Prices are also more attractive this season :) Rizmi and his boys put a lot of work in the hostel during off season, it has a lot of new facilities and it's really nice. Lots of space to hang out with people and also a small bar/cafe area.The location is a few meters away from the road so it is really quiet there. Nice rooftop where you can do yoga :)I'd definitely recommend this place ?

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the dreamy hostel Arugambay in Sri Lanka, and I can't recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us with warm smiles and refreshing welcome drinks, setting the tone for a fantastic stay.The hotel is beautifully located right near the beach, offering stunning views of the Indian Ocean. Our room was spacious, clean, and elegantly decorated, with a private balcony that provided the perfect spot to enjoy the sunset. The amenities were top-notch, with a lovely outdoor ice bath. One of the highlights of our stay was the dining experience. The on-site restaurant served a variety of delicious local and international dishes, and the breakfast buffet was a feast for the senses. Don't miss out on trying the fresh seafood!The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, offering excellent service throughout our stay. They also helped us arrange various excursions, including a trip to the nearby kumana national park, which was an unforgettable adventure.Overall, dreamy Hostel Arugambay is a gem in Sri Lanka. This hostel is a very special place I stay there three time on my trip through srilanka and each time it felt like coming home. Location is amazing, few minutes to the main point, close to the main street but nice and quiet place. Rizmi is funny guy, and he welcomed me like at home! He could took us to the safari tour, was great experience to see wildlife! I really enjoyed spend some time with him and other guests as well:)) helpful owner and the room was fresh and nice colour. Clean practical room's also the network a very good fast. Absolutely the best place to stay in Arugam bay,highly recommend to anyone!

Hostel was nice. The ‚glow’ room we stayed in is really beautiful with an own outdoor bathroom. Price is absolutely fair! We were happy to spend a night there :)

"Lovely family run property. Very helpful and friendly. We stayed in the sharing room . ViewS of the garden . Great porch with a day bed - perfect for reading a book. Slept with the door open facing a nice view of garden . Sheets clean and fresh air condition was perfect cooling no sound and there have nice bee bag ."

I stayed at dreamy Hostel Arugambay for a couple of days whilst in Arugam Bay and I loved it! The staff very helpful.the hostel was always clean and tidy, beds were comfy towels and outside nice bean bag iImade some lovely friends in thechill out areas. The place was near the beach and there have wonderful restaurant alsoI traveled alone. I felt very safe there. The manager and staff were very helpful and they arranged taxi also to good back to airport Location is great We look forward to visit again this place Would definitely recommend. Lovely place

Location was close to the mainstreet.

Unfriendly host. Its a scam. There are two doorms. One doorm has a big blue bathroom that you see in the pictures. The other doorm has no own bathroom so we needed to walk to a small shed with toilet and shower. But we payed the same price like the guests in the other doorm. You couldnt really close the foor of the doorm. And the AC was inaceptable loud. Most of the staff were hangig around in the hamock area and drinking there with their friends. The area should be reserved for the guests.

The outdoor area was really nice to hang and easy to meet fellow travellers. The place is really close to all the restaurants and the beach but still a bit hidden which made it a bit more quiet.

The rooms are quite small and doesn‘t really have space to put your luggage and nothing for valuables but other than that I enjoyed my stay.

I really loved my stay here, I felt very safe and secure - it's a chill vibe and staff are very friendly and helpful. I recommend it! it's good value too.

The location is perfect: close to the beach and the main road but not directly on the main road which makes it a lot more quiet. The rooms were nice and clean and the AC worked very well. Only 2 bathrooms but one was always free since the hostel wasn’t that big and the bathrooms are clean as well. Staff is really nice and the outside area is beautiful and perfect to chill and meet people.It is a bit misleading on Booking.com but there is NO BREAKFAST available.

The bed wasn’t very comfortable and a bit difficult to climb on to. Not a big problem tho.

It‘s a lovely place. Very chilled out social area. The room and bathroom are very clean. The staff is friendly and helps you whenever there is a question. There is water and towels available.

It’s such a lovely hangout spot, a minute from the Main Street. This makes it a quiet environment, and just a 2 minute walk from the beach.
