Nico Beach Hotel

Many thanks to the staff for making our vacation very comfortable!) the hotel is nice, located on the beach. Rooms were clean, breakfast was delicious. Everybody was polite and eager to help)

Truly Exceptional Stay at Nico Beach Hotel, HikkaduwaOur experience at Nico Beach Hotel in Hikkaduwa was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality. Manjula, the owner, along with Milan and the entire staff, went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Their kindness, attentiveness, and friendly service made us feel right at home.The food was absolutely incredible fresh, flavorful, and prepared with so much care. Every meal felt special, and we found ourselves looking forward to dining there every day.What touched our hearts the most is that Nico Beach Hotel is one of the very few truly dog-friendly places in the South. They don’t just allow dogs ,they love them. The team has adopted several rescued street dogs, giving them a safe and loving home. Seeing the care they give these animals made our stay even more meaningful and uplifting.Thank you, Manjula, Milan, and everyone at Nico Beach Hotel, for such a wonderful experience. We are already looking forward to our next visit.Highly recommended...we will definitely be coming back!H&H

Amazing location just outside of the main strip. Lovely breakfast, amazing staff, comfortable room and quiet. Perfect little spot.

Shower slow and little selection of drinks.

On arrival we were told there were no credit card facilities and we had to pay cash. We had a three night stay, this drained our cash supply. When we questioned the manager, she was rude and unhelpful.The internet was slow or non existent and it took 24 hours to get it fixed The bathroom has a terrible smell, especially in the mornings.The linen was thread bare. Disappointing!

We were really pleased with our stay at the Nico beach hotel as it is a fabulous hotel, modern and with all the facilities needed. It is ideally situated for visiting the many sights. also it is just closed to the beach where we had so much fun in the evening. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, especially the owner who were very friendly and helpful. We had our dinner which was delicious. Highly recommended ?

Unable to pay by credit card and not stated on booking.com. Staff stated several times credit card machine not working!! Price did not include any toiletries in bathroom, it should have. Only had lunch one day and did not receive the food ordered

The distance from the town meant the beach was quiet and felt almost private. The pool is beautifully clean, and the sunbeds looking out to the sea is so lovely. We really liked the outside dining and the staff were absolutely lovely. They went out of their way to make our visit special.

The distance from town was well advertised, so not a surprise and nice and quiet, but we would have liked to be slightly nearer to some cafes & juice bars

A very nice and cozy hotel with a warm atmosphere. The staff will greet you, feed you, give you advice, and help with everything. There are very pleasant people around. Nearby, just 200 meters along the beach, there is a really cool surf school (Dima Surf School). There’s a convenient surf spot next to the hotel for beginner surfers. It’s suitable for all categories of vacationers, from families with kids to young couples.

The owner, Bianca, is lovely and very helpful. All the staff are really friendly and helpful. The hotel is right on the beach and offers a great range of beach chairs/loungers/beds etc. The swimming pool is clean and partially in the shade - great to enjoy in the midday sun. The sea is clear and warm, being a surf beach it is rough with strong currents, beautiful when you get pass the waves.

There was nothing I could ask more for a relaxing stay.

Family owned hotel was direct at the beach with the rooms facing the sea. Great hospitality. The view from the room it’s 5*. Love to stay there one more time for longer time.You got what you pay for. Next to the hotel is amazing picturesque beach where you can swim. To Hikkaduwa you’ve got around 3-4 minutes drive by Tuk tuk.

Room clean and freshly paited. Kettle, fridge and hairdryer provided but have to take or buy own water,coffee/tea,milk.

Lovely bathroom but no shelves or rails at all. No bar or restaurant as such but could order from kitchen.(could do with menus!) Breakfast fine but would hve been nice to include juice.

Amazing view to the ocean, staff is really friendly they organise everything and treated me like a family member, pool was new and clean, room was comfortable and the food super delicious. I will definitely come back and can highly recommend Nico Beach Hotel!

The employed local staff at the hotel were just delightful, friendly, helpful and polite. The rooms were clean, spacious and the bed was comfortable.

The location is a few kilometres out of the town. There was no welcome drink or explanations. The hotel is on the beach but the sea is far too rough to swim in. Breakfast was basic and repetitive. No reliable WiFi although they did correct this. We didn’t have any housekeeping throughout our 3 night stay, no clean towels or bins emptied. No bar or indoor seating area. Reception was chained and padlocked around 10pm so no one on site overnight. They ran out of beer, and no wine available but they didn’t mind us buying our own. No card payment option, felt we were being bullied into paying cash and price went up everyday! The most upsetting thing was being told not to use the AC in the room we were allowed to shower and change in. It was 30+ degrees outside and we were a group of 3 showering, drying hair etc before an 18 hour journey home! It was sweltering.
