Amethyst Resort Passikudah

Very spacious room. We liked the pool...it would be nice if it was a little more deep. Place is generally quite clean, the breakfast was good decent variety.

The lake here is not very clean....not properly lit up. Also room amenities were poor. There were no toiletries. Also the TV was a very old low quality TV.

Buffet breakfast was good.Pool area was good to..But the resort needs more sunning lounges and Umbrellas

Pool had a bad smell coming around.

The location is great, right by the beach, which is great for swimming. We also did a bit of snorkeling off the beach closeby. The pool was very nice. We saw quite some beautiful birds around the hotel, and even a baby crocodile (in a fenced off river so not dangerous). We liked the food too.

Dinner and pool are good. Beachfront is ok. Staff was very friendly.

Property doesn’t match the price I paid. Property was very expensive and it didn’t match expectations.

Beach and Pool: The beach and pool areas were the highlight of our stay—clean, well-maintained, and very relaxing.Warm and Friendly Staff: Most of the ground staff, especially Sanjeewa and others we interacted with, were extremely warm, helpful, and courteous throughout our stay.

Room Amenities: While the rooms were clean and reasonably sized, they lacked basic amenities. There were no adequate coffee/tea provisions, not enough cups, and some beds didn’t have comforters.Reception Experience: On our first day, we had a poor experience with Ranchan at the reception. When we raised our concerns, he dismissed them and said there was no responsible person on duty, which made us feel ignored.Food Quality & Variety: The meals were far below expectations for a full-board package. Lunch included only five items, including just one chicken and one pork dish. Dessert options were limited to three, and breakfast lacked variety and essentials like bacon or other typical hot dishes.Water Policy: Despite booking a triple room, we were only provided one water bottle per day. Extra bottles had to be purchased, which felt unreasonable and not guest-friendly.

The staff is excellent ! We were more than helpful & friendly.

We went to Passikudah in June which is not a high season for the region so the pool bar was closed and the facilities seemed empty.

Beach was clean and good security to manage although its close to the public areameals were very good as you have an excellent chef who is flexible to cook for your tastelovely spacious pool,

the room amenities should be upgraded

Hotel is on the beach also the room balcony was facing a river with lots of beautiful birds !!

Beautiful quiet location. Nice pool. Rooms adequate with great air con Amazing to watch the wild life including crocodiles in the river. Staff were great and helped me to sort out a lost package. We didn't have food so can't comment on quality. There are a couple of nice, relatively cheap restaurants nearby but not much else. A wonderful break from our busy travels.

The hotel is not as boutique or as posh as others on this beach, but also not as expensive.

The view from our room was wonderful to the sea. And the river view and garden was beautiful.Breakfast was great. Room was clean.

Where are all the services? There is only a beach and sunbeds.

The pool and private beach is amazing. Bed is comfortable. Location is nice, we saw crocodile and lot of birds. Staff is great, supportive.

There is only instant coffee, otherwise good options to have breakfast. It is far away from the city, few small restaurants nearby. Nothing to do nearby only beaches.

Staff, surrounding nature, cleanliness, general atmosphere.

The bridge over the crocodile pond should have tiny nets between the bars as a safety measure for kids.

Fantastic location close to the beach and an impressive swimming pool that we used quite a bit. The room was great and the buffet meals had plenty of choice.
