Chinmay Hostel

Nice out of the way hostel with large private rooms and hot water shower. We ended up staying for almost a month!

Location is very far from centre. The Washroom was very dirty and broken. Price is cheap but still wouldn't recommend it .

I booked for a room with a mountain view and finally I didn't have it. The washroom was not clean, still have the old soap on the sink and the floor was not clean.

The location is incredible! It's on the trail to Bhagsu waterfall. McLeod Ganj can get really crowded, but I hardly felt it being surrounded by pristine nature.

Their hospitality needs some working- their first approach was demanding when payments were made and whether it can be made on the first day. Definitely not worth over 700 rupees for a single room per night. The manager took me to my room, and asked if I wanted the heater because it was going to cost an extra 200 rupees per night, then she left without saying anything else… she didn’t explain how the hot water works, I had to shower in cold water that evening, they don’t offer toilet paper, so you’ll have to purchase it yourself, and their toilets don’t flush toilet paper. Basically you give yourself a tour of the place. I had to ask for wifi from another guest, there’s a yoga room upstairs and hot water filter was provided - if I had known this I wouldn’t have bought a kettle. I had dead bugs all over my room, and in the bathroom, the fruit flies covered my towel, I found insects in my blanket, so many large flies buzzing around. More bugs were dying as the days went on. 2 out 4 nights their dogs were barking for hours in the night.

Off the main road in nature, peaceful place to chill and close to places in Bhagsu. Friendly staff and room had good facilities

Property is being worked on still and isn’t fully together feeling like a hostel, more like an ex yoga place with rooms. But this didn’t bother me

Their food is amazing, Plus they make best dal makhani and pizza in town. Also its so peaceful that one can work or relax without a noise. Service was pretty amazing. Its nice interacting with everyone. Laundry service was pretty quick and this place is very near to waterfalls...I also posted pics on my insta - travelgururajat

It was excellent. i will definitely come back with my friends again. Also it is walkable distance from taxi stand. Nice ambience, Hot and cold water is also available.
