Wonderful, beautiful Japanese style room and onsen. There are 3 onsen to choose from to reserve. We booked the semi-outdoor onsen, and it was absolutely gorgeous. We were curious and went to look at the roof top bath. The pictures here don't do it justice. It is small (only big enough for 2 people), but has been beautifully decorated.
The room was comfortable with a beautiful view of the mountains. It was clean and you could borrow bikes for free.
The baths all had to be reserved when you check in, but there were periods of open time.
The room was relatively big for Japan and they had free bike rentals.

We really liked the guesthouse. Even the small room was plenty of space for us, and it had a balcony too! The free bike hire is ab excellent way to explore Yufuin. The staff were also very friendly. Also, there are signs up on every language saying to keep voices down at night, so PLEASE DO, the walls are paper thin. There also seems to be no step-free access to the rooms, so be aware.
- The place is not far from Yufuin station. - One convenient store is not far away.- There is free bicycle for 2 hours.- Cats are adorable.

The location of the hotel is convenient (about 3 minutes walking from Yufuin Station), and the staff is very friendly, also the hotel room is clean.
Staff and cat are quite friendly, and they have free bicycles for use for up to 2 hours. However 2 hours was not enough at all.
The onsen was a huge disappointment. The water was too hot, we put our legs in and immediately jumped out. We have visited many onsens and this felt dirty and uncomfortable. The environment felt creepy so it wasn’t even a good stay. No food option is offered at all, and no staff no service after 10pm.
Very good location, within walking distance to Yufuin town and nearby amenities. Onsen is available by booking, provides good privacy. Added bonus - 3 lovely cats!
