My room did have a balcony and view of the Ikaho steps which I used to take pictures from.

Very close to the bottom of the stone steps The staff were very friendly and allowed me to drop my bags off early

Pricy for not having a public bath

The view! I did not expect to have a good view when I booked this hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised when I opened my window in the morning and found a great view of the mountain and the Ikaho stone steps! Lovely! The staff are nice, too. They do not speak English and use Google translae to communciate with me, but it's okay, they are warm and they try to answer my questions and requests as best as they can. The location is great, too. It is just a minute walk from the Ikaho stone steps, and right across Lawson, which is great when I was craving for a late dinner or snack.

There is always nobody manning the reception, need to contact them if you need anything. But this is a minor issue for me.

Stay View Ikaho was an extremely comfortable, clean and spacious stay for two in the heart of the famous Ikaho onsen town.If you want to explore Ikaho and surrounding mountains I can’t recommend this accommodation more highly. Check in / out was smooth, view was stunning, was very quiet and beds were very comfortable.Parking was free and always available throughout our stay.

No complaints, however if you are looking for a Ryokan experience this is not that, just simple accommodation.

The location was fantastic. The view from the room was beautiful. Bed was comfortable. The price is great. Washing machine, dryer and microwave in the entrance was handy. I really liked Jazz music they were playing at the entrance ?

    I can't fault this place.

The room was big, warm (it started snowing) and the location absolutely perfect. It was quiet, car parking was easy - fabulous for what I wanted.

Amazing location just in front of the Stone Steps and across from a convenience store (which closes at 10pm, so beware!) The room was clean, the bathroom/shower was brand new, and there is free wi-fi.

Payment in CASH ONLY, so come prepared. No breakfast or meals are offered at this facility. There was no bedside table or lamp in the bedroom, would have liked to have a night light. You can buy a ticket to the nearby Takami inn hot spring, but it is only accessible from 6 to 7:30pm.

It's right across the street from a convenience store. The steps to Ikaho Shrine are just up the street. The minifridge is a good size. The wifi speed is okay.

The bed was a bit hard. Parking was a little difficult. You have to take off your shoes when you enter your room. You have to use the desk phone and call an extension (10) to check in. If you go out between 1 and 5, there's a number you have to call to get back in. No English instructions were provided for this important point.
