Apa Hotel Maebashieki-Kita

Simple business hotel. Room was fine, price was reasonable. Located on quiet small street, but not far from city center. Selected this hotel one only because price was with discount.

Small parking and have to pay for it.

Hi I liked the nice hot bath, and the friendly reception staff.

I wanted a real mug for a cup of tea in my room.

More spacious than your typical APA room, free movies on VOD and staff were pleasant. Not much else to say than it was a perfectly acceptable place. Close to restaurants, supermarket, conbini and not to far from the station!

Nothing really worth complaining about! Typical Japanese style pillows but that is a preference issue to me (I don't like them) but I'm in Japan so it's expected.

All personal items are being provided. Have self-help facilities like laundromat and microwave.

10 min walk from the nearest JR station. Free VOD to watch.

They forgot to clean my room on the 4th day.

I could not get a single room for my family. So we had to stay in multiple rooms. I do not smoke but I got a smoking room.

Book in here late after accidentally staying in a love hotel! Made me really appreciate the non-smoking rooms and general quiet and cleanliness of the place.

The washing machine didn’t have any English instructions which was a bit difficult. I understand this as from what it seems they don’t get many foreign bookings.

Absolutely friendly staff, it’s good value for money as you get your own bathroom and shower. Bed was comfortable, air con worked perfectly. 10/10

Wifi was a little slow.

The hotel is very close to the station, so it made traveling easy. It also has car parking as well, so it was really convenient coming from other parts of Gunma. Though we chose not to have the breakfast because we wanted something local, having the option was relieving. Also being able to choose and non-smoking room and it actually smelled smoke-free was wonderful. I’ve stayed places before that we’re renovated from smoking to non, and the smell lingers in most places, but this hotel was excellent in that regard.

We came by car, and while the hotel had parking, for the price of the hotel stay I don’t think charging for parking is fair, especially since I wasn’t aware I would be charged when I made the booking. The only other thing is about the smoking and non-smoking floors. We stayed in a non-smoking room, but the elevator reeked of old tobacco, most likely from other guests from the smoking floors. I don’t know that anything can really be sone since there was only one elevator, but it was a very unpleasant ride up and and down from the seventh floor.

Location was good.

We arrived one hour before check-in. They asked us to pay 1000 yen to check in early. No other hotel has been so stingy! We arrived two hours early in Shinbashi (an expensive hotel) and they said our room was ready so we could use it straight away. This is called good customer relations and marketing. We won't stay at APA ever again.

It’s a reasonably priced hotel but I never feel like it’s cheap (that’s good!). It’s a nice space, and easy to check in and out.

It’s a little far to walk if you have a big backpack, but still only 10 minutes.

I’m a very forgetful person, so I forgot that I had their room key and left some clothes at the property. They were very kind and let me return the key at my own convenience much later and even wrapped up my clothes to give to me. Staff were very friendly and kind.

It has the normal APA hotel amenities and booking system, which is good for a business hotel, but that's pretty mich it. If this hotel were not in the APA group and could go without them they would probably cheap out on it.

The room is old, which wouldn't be that much of a problem if it was clean or bothersome in some places, dust in the corners, small holes in the sheets, smell, etc... The bathroom had black mold and stains everywhere. It's also old, so the washlet doesn't have warm seat and the water spray is cold...The walls are really thin, you can hear the other rooms guests talking and moving around. Around 7a.m. the staff is already cleaning the rooms, so the moving around and using the vacuum cleaner will definitely wake you up.

Free water in the room.

It's 2024. At this hotel, it's required to leave the key at the front desk. Unbelievable.

Breakfast was great. Please add more fruits.
